Just a thread if anyone wants to check in. I voted online for YC.

But surely the logical conclusion of their 'serious risk' argument is that they either believe that:

a) Labour have a serious chance (risk) of influencing the government's policies while the Tories are in power

or

b) Labour have a serious chance (risk) of winning the next election.

Now surely, they won't admit to either of those, so what, exactly do they think are they at serious risk of doing?

That is what I wish someone would ask the next Tory who says that live on TV.

SwedishEdith · 12/09/2015 15:11

Yes, saw Michaal Fallon coming out with that inconsistent tosh as well. Make your minds up.

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 16:02

I'd have a lot more respect for the Tories if they said "Hey, it doesn't matter that JC has been elected, because they won't influence us at all and will never win another GE, so who cares"

By banging on about 'serious risk' they're making themselves look scared...

ALassUnparalleled · 12/09/2015 17:17

Yes I agree. Labour has no chance of winning an election with him as leader. They have nothing to be scared of.

KeyserSophie · 12/09/2015 17:27

They do the serious risk thing to drum up funds, but secretly I think they're opening the vintage Dom at No 10. " i saved this for a special occasion........"

Redkite2015 · 12/09/2015 17:32

Priti Patel is over rated person, she will tosh out bs just to be in news. JC will ignore her, which will add to her fury.

It would be nice to send her to Trump campaign.

Probably. Meanwhile Jeremy, who really does have cause to celebrate, is out working joining a rally to support refugees.

I know which one I'd rather get behind.

howtorebuild · 12/09/2015 23:05

Posters on here worked for PP, and they had nothing good to say about her.

I know someone who follows anything the media feeds them, currently they are spitting feathers that JC has won. He is going to bring terrorists into the country to take all tax payers money in benefits and he is a crazy old Man, apparently. It will be interesting to see their viewpoint as time goes by.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 13/09/2015 13:05

The politics of hate, fear and ignorance. The usual shit stirring nonsense from the right now that JC has been elected.

I am a member of the Labour Party and I agree it would be a threat under Corbyn if it were to be elected with his policies. But it won't be.

MrsDeVere-

Make that every family's security who doesn't come from a privileged upper or upper-middle class background.

blacksunday · 14/09/2015 12:32

Meanwhile, the Tories Cut 20,000 Army 5,000 RAF 5,000 Navy, and 22,000 Police officers.

While the financially incompetent Labour Party, who sent troops to Afghanistan without enough bullet proof vests, anti mine vehicles and helicopters which cost service peoples LIVES - left a £38 to £74 billion Defence overspend - forcing a reorganisation as Labour also left a £153 bil total government departments budget deficit/overspend.

www.express.co.uk/news/uk/374669/Labour-over-spending-leaves-74-billion-defence-deficit

Still we got those two overly large aircraft carriers ordered by Gordon Brown, with no money for airplanes, to be built down the road to his own constituency - that were to expensive to individually cut.

Isitmebut · 14/09/2015 14:14

There is nothing like a responsible government sending their troops into war with enough equipment, and when the time came a Defence Secretary saying we hope we can leave after three 3-years without firing a shot ?? Labour put our troops lives in danger that was nothing like responsible.

Three years later our troops without enough equipment and jokingly referred to by the Americans as ??The Borrowers??, had fired around 12 million bullets.

??Why we went into Helmand??

A Blair government insider assesses the flawed decision-making that led to the blithely optimistic British deployment in 2006

Yet left a huge black hole in the budget; like every other department, incompetent and where did all the money go?
