Just a thread if anyone wants to check in. I voted online for YC.

Sky have said it. Their sources have been told.

KnockMeDown · 12/09/2015 11:39

I'm watching Tom Watson - he should have been one of the candidates for the leadership!

LoveArtDeco · 12/09/2015 11:40

Oh well they're always right Hmm although in this instance I think they probably are Grin

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:41

Tom Watson - how refreshing to hear a politician speak in a normal, sincere voice rather than that shouty over rehearsed style favoured by Milliband et al

NoahVale · 12/09/2015 11:41

Go Jeremy

claig · 12/09/2015 11:42

TomWatson is excellent. One day he will undoubtedly be Labour leader and will thrash the Tories. Corbyn has changed the whole game. It is over for the Bullingdon boys. Many people will now return to Labour. Even I will probably vote for them, and I don't like politically correct metropolitan luvvies, but they are on the way out. Real Labour is back. The people are back!

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:43

We're watching history in the making right here. I feel like there has been a seismic shift in our country...

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:43

Hah, no one cares about Liz Kendall's result then!

ALassUnparalleled · 12/09/2015 11:43

Turkeys have just voted for Christmas. Well done. Hope you will all be happy with at least a decade of Conservative government.

TheSpectator · 12/09/2015 11:44

Ha ha too funny claig but then your posts are always nonsensical. The Conservatives can now relax knowing that labour don't have a hope in hell of winning the next GE with Corbyn as leader.

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:44

I've never voted Labour, but I'd vote for these guys

claig · 12/09/2015 11:45

'how refreshing to hear a politician speak in a normal, sincere voice rather than that shouty over rehearsed style favoured by Milliband et al'

Absolutely and Corbyn is the same. No more pretence, no more acting, no more spin - just pure honest sincerity and integrity.

Corbyn won the Labour leadership election with a landslide and he will win the General Election with a similar landslide.

Oswin · 12/09/2015 11:45

Yesss!! Nearly 60 percent of the vote!

NoahVale · 12/09/2015 11:45

A scrum of media

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:45

To be honest, right now it's not so much about who will win the next GE, but about who will challenge the Tories, and stand up for their beliefs. That's what JC is about, I can't wait to see him at the despatch box

Can't quite believe it's happening

LumpySpacedPrincess · 12/09/2015 11:47

Exactly

ALassUnparalleled · 12/09/2015 11:47

I've voted Labour in every election since 1979. I will not be voting for "these guys"

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 11:49

No more pretence, no more acting, no more spin - just pure honest sincerity and integrity.

It's exactly that - to hear JC cut through the crap and the spin and just say what he thinks was so refreshing. And the fact that he hasn't waded in to any of the mudslinging throughout this campaign shows his integrity.

People are sick of the same old clones. That's why I've never voted Labour, they're all the bloody same. I want real people who actually believe in something.

There was a brilliant YouTube clip where all 4 candidates were on some show, and the presenter asked them what they would do with Ed Milliband if they were elected leader. All the other 3 just fudged and dodged - used answers learned straight from 'How to be a politician, Chapter 1 - How to avoid a question'.

JC just straight up answered the question.

That's what people want - someone who straight up answers the question.

Badders123 · 12/09/2015 11:52

COME ON!!!!!
Very happy :)

Seriouslyffs · 12/09/2015 11:54

It was exciting when Blair was elected leader if the party because he was credible and passionate. This is a million times more exciting as he's credible passionate and most importantly right! He doesn't just want power, he wants power to make peoples' lives better.

SiencynArsecandle · 12/09/2015 11:57

My dad was a very strong socialist but I have never voted Labour in my life. However, I will now be joining the Labour Party as we actually have an opposing view to the right wing 'Im alright Jack' policies that are devouring the country. I have seen my family torn apart and sent to the brink of suicide and poverty due to disabilities since the Tories came to power, and the thought of having to wait until 2020 to get rid of them fills me with fear. However, there is now someone fighting for us, the normal people, the non Oxbridge educated, non 'normal' people. Happy Days

ALassUnparalleled · 12/09/2015 12:00

No it was exciting when Blair was elected as he had a realistic chance of winning an election. Corbyn has none. The champagne corks will be popping at Conservative HQ.

I'm a Labour voter, life-long. I won't be voting Labour next election - I'm certainly not going to support an IRA apologist.

UnGoogleable · 12/09/2015 12:06

But for those who say he will be unelectable at the next GE - I'm sure he's thought of that.

What about if he spends the next few years challenging the Tories, speaking up for what he believes in, reshaping the Labour party and then steps aside for someone who might just win the GE?

Personally, I'd vote for him as PM.

But there's a long way to go before that. Let's see what he can do in the next few years, that's what's really interesting.
