Just wondered if anyone else has seen this www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02q9yrq?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_radio_4&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=radio_and_music

Might this be the answer to our grotty political situation?

Just flagging it up in case anyone is interested.

Posted in chat and no one commented! Seems a big event to me, a new political party but there you go.

There won't be a grotty political situation if the Conservatives win next week and I doubt any of the current parties will be quaking in their boots at the creation of a new party with one member.

You might eat your words, silveroldie2 , we could do with a change.

I beg to differ.

We will see.

It is good I I but it'll be a generation before anything substantial comes of it.

NorahDentressangle · 02/05/2015 21:39

Possibly but I don't think the majority of the population could be more fed up and irritated by today's politicians than they are at present.

Interesting but strange timing just before the election, I would have thought you'd announce just after the election and then start building towards the next one.

Yes, but, being female she is probably being pragmatic and knows these things won't happen overnight, but take months/years to build on!

There was a guest post about it last week.

The phrase being female she is probably being pragmatic grates on me somewhat - there aren't characteristics that women possess and men don't, that's sort of the point.

They have noted that UKIP got their first representatives not in general elections but in by-elections triggered by defecting MPs. So a presence is not impossible before 2020, albeit unlikely.

I agree, the timing a week before the election is slightly odd, unless it was aimed to interest voters at a time when politics is on their mind.
