Boris as a Tory party leader. Would he have to drop the spoof jokes?

I can see Boris gets away with his jokey style as London Mayor.
But do you think it would wash as a party leader. ?

Not a chance in my opinion.

He comes across as a fun, blustering fool. I don't think he is any of those things by the way although I do like his public persona.

He lacks gravitas and have you ever seen him caught out when being questioned? He looks like a naughty toddler!

Boris is the most unusual performer in top politics. I assume it is an act to cover different characteristics. Probably not very nice ones. (He will have a safe Tory seat at Uxbridge.)
