Came across this article: postdesk.com/alienated-traveller-gypsy-culture and wondered what people's personal experiences are like interacting with the traveller community?

?There?s not enough hippies to save our lives? ? the words of 10 year old Mary-Anne, former resident of Dale Farm in Essex; the most recent and publicised case of traveller camp eviction. But maybe, just maybe, there would be no need for ?hippies? if the rest of us weren?t so close-minded to the idea that the traveller community is not a bad community.

Unfortunately, my direct experiences with the traveller community have been entirely negative. I think accusations of being 'close-minded' go both ways.

I don't think anybody would mind Travellers so much if they'd, well - travel.

Maybe travellers need to look at themselves a bit more and stop blaming others for their predicament?
