Just heard on R4 News. Is this true? If it is, how do they justify keeping a risk assessment secret?

Cogito, the government has been selling off state services, some of them to people from overseas. Isn't that a fact, rather than a point of view?

You don't like the term, but I do feel as if the government is 'selling Britain'. It's selling off the services that we pay for and really value, to companies that may or may not behave responsibly. Instead of these services being set up as well as they possibly could be, wholly in our interests, with only one goal, which is to make us better, these private companies have to put their shareholders first. If they don't, they'll go under and we'll have no services.

This is happening, isn't it? You implied that it wasn't, or at least I thought you did.

And selling public services after dumbing down pay and T&C to make them more appealing and so that the private (sometimes foreign) companies can make even more money on the back of the UK taxpayer.

If that isn't selling Britain I don't know what is.

Cog you are in denial. I am guessing you'd like to pay less tax , well in time you'll pay more.

Water companies up and down the country are telling Ofwat that in order to fix the leaks they will have to pass the cost onto the consumer. Why? because they make 5 year forcasts so that the shareholders don't bail out. Have you got shares or enough capital to have stake in the future of this country? the extent to which you will be able to hold private companies to account when they don't deliver or they fail to invest? No of course not. I would even say that a lot of this is good old imperialism on the part of our american friends.
