Is it just me or is there something weird about women in England getting news about women in England via Al Jazeera?

A cynic would say that it is a propaganda tool of certain Middle East states, trying to spread dissent. Given how many wealthy arabs send children to school and uni here, (Saif Gaddafi anyone?) sneering at a 'public schoolboy' is also a little odd.

She is a British journalist, who writes for the Guardian so I presume that she is more on the left side of the political spectrum (so likely to sneer about the public schoolboy).

I don't think it is weird. We get articles in the German papers about life in UK, sometimes even in English.

Probably explains the inverse snobbery. Can you imagine if DC had been a state pupil and the tag line was 'women in Britain fed up with DC and the Comprehensive Schoolboy cabinet'.... there'd be an uproar.

It's just another example of those on the left playing the man and not the ball.

So Cameron and Osborne had a private school education - just like Blair, Brown, Darling, Balls and Harman - the thing is, I don't remember those on the left frothing about this issue when Labour were in power. Nor, for that matter, do I hear you championing those PM's that had a state school education such as Major or Thatcher.

As issues facing the country go, this puerile attempt at character assassination is pathetic.
