I should know this - how is the AV vote being counted?

is it simply a case of adding up all the yes/no votes in each constituency then adding them all together?

Or do they announce a result for each constituency then it's first past the post? Which would be somewhat ironic.

I assume it's the former.

BTW, anyone know when polling stations close, and when we can expect first info on exit polls?

polls close at 10 I think.

I don't think there are exit polls with AV. The result was thought to be in the bag for the No camp that no one was wasting their money on financing an exit poll. (I think I read that on Spectator coffee house website..can't remember exactly...as I searched for an exit poll!)
Also, why are they not counting the AV vote till tomorrow (I think I heard that on the BBC Election programme this evening?)
