Just imagine if the lib dems actually held out and prevented the tories from destroying the nhs. They might have a future and so might those of us who can't afford private health insurance.

fingers crossed...

(for the nhs that is: I can't say I care much whether the lib dems survive)

In the last week I've had 3 (unrelated) experiences of our health system.

A long wait in A&E (actually a serious of long waits - from one queue to the next). The nurses and doctors are great - but you sit there thinking that there must be a better way......

A morning spent phoning up to make an appointment to see my GP - FAIL. In the end I walked round!

A conversation with my private health insurers to find that I'm not covered for the minor treatment I need to claim for. I will be cancelling the policy - they are not worth the money. And not a real alternative to the NHS.

Actually, I'm surprised the Tories are focusing on the NHS. I thought they were going for a 'ring fence fund and ignore' policy.

But - I'm not sure about what you think it is that's being 'saved'? The whole system is chaotic and totally inefficient, and held together by good will and low expectations IMO.
