Does anyone know anything about Community Right to Buy?

We have an old school building here which the council appears to want to sell off and we as a community want it as a village hall. The person at County hall who is 'handling' this vacant property knows less about Community Right to Buy than I do, and I don't know much.

Community right to buy isn't legislation as yet - the Govt are currently doing the consultation to work out the details with a view to bringing it in next year. Details here.

If you are definitely interested and not making much progress, raise it with your local councillor to take back to county hall from the inside iyswim

I'd also start thinking about your proposals for the management arrrangements for the building and revenue funding for upkeep/repairs etc

Thank you for the link. The building in question should come into the right category but I suspect the intention is to flog it off before the legislation comes into force.

Will definitely approach the local councillor and we're already working on the proposal.
