Now it appears our lollipop ladies are at risk because of the cuts.

This morning I overheard our lovely lollipop crossing lady saying that their jobs are at risk due to all the cuts.

Now I realise that they may not be an essential service but i do think it may put children in danger. We have a very busy road to cross and imho we need our lollipop lady.

Anyone alse heard anything similar?

You are lucky to have one at all. I htink all schools should have one of they are on a through road.

Our school is on a very busy road, near a very busy crossroad. There are no pedestrian crossings at the crossroads and nearest zebra a good 100m either way (main road only, not the side roads).

The school wrote to the council to ask for one but apparently, because it isn't an accident blackspot (ie not enough children killed or maimed) we won't get one. Not will the council put in a crossing. We dont even have the zigzags outside.
