Local councillor

I was having a chat with a Lid Dem councillor in my area and chiding him about Clegg and the coalition, he replied "it wasnt my idea but I am getting a lot of abuse about it" he also told me that one of the independent councillors says "heel boy heel" every time he sees him.

Had to laugh because he is an OK councillor

It's the price he pays for finally being one of the parties in government rather than continuously in Noble Opposition :) And at a time of economic difficulty, whoever was in power was going to be unpopular pretty quickly. Most politicians are nicer than you think face to face, I find.
