Where's Frank Field....?

Remember seeing some comments from him about child benefit going for the over 13s several months ago and there was some brief skirmish over parenting techniques more recently but he's gone all quiet since the welfare changes were announced. (His online blog comes to a fairly abrupt halt 31st March 2010 ... room for a conspiracy theory there :) )

Come on Frank. What's the inside gen? I think there would be more confidence about the welfare changes if he was prepared to say which ones he'd had a hand in. My Ladbrokes fiver is on the 'Universal Benefit' idea. Would like to hear more, however.

He's busy here

I'm aware that he's busy. But, given that he's looking at the issues of poverty and welfare and social mobility etc., wouldn't he have had something to say about the spending review which potentially affects all of those areas?

I do hope he does speak up - he is a man who genuinely cares about the poor, and wants to help them help themselves instead of relying on the State. No wonder other Labour MPs seem to hate him so much!
