The greatest peacetime PM this country has ever seen is 85 today.

She put the Great back into Great Britain. She made our economy strong and free in the face of great adversity after years of appalling Labour waste. She won in the Falklands, and smashed the iron grip of the unions. What a woman!

Many happy returns to the Iron Lady! Here's to many, many more happy birthdays to come!

I had to laugh yesterday... the media was full of scousers and miners celebrating - Maggie would have been turning in her grave
