I am eligible for a Warm Front grant which is fantastic and I am very grateful. However, they will only replace my old inefficient Baxi Bermuda boiler with another gravity fed boiler. They will not install a combi boiler which would be almost half the cost and more energy efficient.
Their policy is to only replace like for like even if this means that the new boiler is less energy efficient and costs more.
Obviously, I want a combi boiler therefore will not be taking up the Warm Front grant.
Does anyone know why their policy is as above? Surely this is going against government environmental policy and will cost tax payers needlessly more money?
