Can I ask you ladies to pray for R, a 17 year old girl who has just been admitted to hospital after a car accident with a fractured vertabrae and is facing 12 weeks flat on her back in hospital hundreds of miles from her family.

She's the daughter of a friend, and luckily we live close to the hospital so hopefully can help a bit.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 05/01/2010 22:32

MrsCadwallader, thank you. 'Talking' to you all is such a massive help as I am not able to talk to anyone in rl about it at the moment (no matter how hard my dh tries).

PA - thanks and hoping for an inexpensive bill for you

Weegiemum - Praying for a speedy recovery for R.

CaptainDippy · 06/01/2010 11:46

Will definitely pray for R, WM - how horribly frightening. Hope you can get to visit as much as poss. Just pray that she is OK and that it will heal (in time) with no major complications!!

Ooooh, Toilet Prayer

"What is before us, we know not, whether we shall live or die; but this we know, that all things are ordered and sure. Everything is ordered with unerring wisdom and unbounded love, by thee, our god, who art love. Grant us in all things to see thy hand; through Jesus Christ our Lord."

AMEN!!

Charles Simeon, 1759 - 1836.

notsofarnow · 09/01/2010 16:26

Hi lovely ladies. Just catching up a bit.
Can I please ask for prayer for next few weeks have just finished stress management/anxiety course through work and now having one to ones which judging from the first one are going to be quite difficult. I think this woman is a Christian if not just very clued in - asked if xh and I eever prayed with each other. when i said no she said hwo did that work in ministry then? I just had to sit there and say he never would. Asked who i am accountable to, who is my prayer partner. Flip heck its what i've needed but is a shock coz this is CBT therapy but if it does me good then bring it on.

Just pray that through this I will have a better relationship with my dc especially the older two. Because i at them like a screaming banchie most of the time

sorry that is a bit long hope i havent lost you.

CaptainDippy · 09/01/2010 17:40

Trudging through the snow to bing love and prayers to you all Hope you have been having fun!!

My granny had a hip replacement op when she was about 65 and again at 75-ish. It was a while ago though (she is nearly 92!!) I'll ask for you ....

OP posts:
PositiveAttitude · 09/01/2010 18:14

Hi all,

Hope you are all having fun in the snow. Novelty is beginning to wear off a little here now that I am needing to trudge through snow daily to get provisions that i can carry home. In need of potatoes, but can't face carrying them!

Could I ask you to pray for a lady who fell over in front of me today.I had to call an ambulance as she had obviously broken bones. Her name was Jill and as I sat beside her she said "You go to church, don't you. I am glad I fell in front of you. You can help more than most." Then she became unconscious, so she is very much in my prayers. Not sure if she is a Christian as I don't have a clue who she is, and not sure how she knew that about me!

Be careful everyone.

DutchOma · 09/01/2010 18:22

What a good job we can pray for one another without having to trudge through the snow.

We have two churchmembers with broken bones and a bereavement, a lady we knew from our first church, who was very kind to our Walter as a three year old.

Please continue to pray for Bob and Margaret, it's a not very easy for them at the moment.

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 09/01/2010 23:06

I like "New Daylight" daily readings, meltedchocolate. Plus I can recommend Adrian Plass if you want books you can just dip into and not follow every day. He does a number of devotional books suitable for Christians who are finding life a little tough.

Would welcome prayer. Am still feeling a little lost, am not too clear on God's purpose for my life. What to do next. Have been sitting patiently, and if necessary will do that some more, provided that is what God wants and I haven't completely mucked things up .

You may remember praying for Susan who was frightened of dying. She died this past week, I hope and pray she found her faith during those last days, hours and minutes. Also please pray for her family.

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 09/01/2010 23:55

hello ladies,
might i ask you to add my friend and her dh and family to your prayers? they recently lost their two-year-old daughter, who died in the night, cause unknown. there are no words, of course, but perhaps prayers?

notsofarnow · 10/01/2010 09:29

oh aitch that is so hard praying for them. I feel so unsettled this morning and have done all night I prayed that josh had died, i wanted to go up to his bed and see he was ok but he is at his dad's I'm wellling up jus tthinking about it.I even considered ringing in the middle of the night to check he was ok. dreams like this don't usually unsettle me like this.

I've decided not to do church this morning as windscreen washer fuse has gone and think it will be too dangerous. and it will probably end up with me in tears, considering how i feel.

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 10/01/2010 09:37

Thats awful Aitch, praying they can get some comfort, and some reason for it happening.

NSFN - I know what you mean about dreams unsettling. I had a dreadful dream last night. Made me feel really awful.

Am hoping DS behaves himself at church this am. Its a family service, and he doesn't like them because there's no Sunday club. Usually throws a couple of tantrums in the middle. I've made a suggestion to change the service to make it easier for him (use of projector rather than service book), which has been agreed is a good idea (particularly as I offered to do the work!), but it won't be in place for today, due to time constraints.

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 10/01/2010 10:28

i hope so too, but i can't imagine where that comfort will come from. she was a special little girl.

MrsCadwallader · 10/01/2010 12:07

Aitch - that's dreadful the poor family. I'm not sure where you even begin to get over something like that. My prayers for them, of course.

DutchOma · 10/01/2010 15:22

Yes, prayers from me too Aitch. These things are so terrible to cope with. I hope and pray that they will find what comfort they can from their faith, or from what we can pray into the situation.
Praying for you too, that you will find the strength to be there for them.

For Mary and NSFN also praying for strength and direction. Dreams can be so very vivid and thereby very frightening. Hope ds behaved himself at church.

amberlight · 10/01/2010 16:30

Prayers for each of you continuing each day

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 10/01/2010 19:20

DS today was fantastic at church, he joined in with some of it, read the pew bible (!) when he had enough, searching for the NT and reading parts of it, and at communion held out his hands to receive - he's never done that before! I cried!!!

LoveBeingAMummy · 11/01/2010 09:18

Prayers for everyone, also praying you are all kept safe and warm in this terrible weather x
