CaptainCaveman · 23/10/2008 11:51

hey guys, am sooo tired today! All this middle of the night feeding is catching up on me. Dneice is doing ok, we are getting her to school and back each day, and she isn't creating any fuss. She will be 6 in Nov. She hasn't once said she misses mummy or wants to go home , and she is sooo excited about going to her dads for the weekend . Little love. I've cuddled her to sleep for the past 2 nights and reassured her that we will always be here for her, and that she can always talk to me about anything. She also asked dh if she could call him daddy

Behaviour wise, she is lying an awful lot (is that her age? I don't think so) and taking things that aren't hers then lying and saying so-and-so GAVE it to her . I have asked her teacher to keep an eye on it too. Dsis likely to be in hospital for another 9 days at least.

Praise God though, we have had a viewing on the house today and have another booked for tomorrow. Praying one of them is our buyer - we really need some extra space now!!

CC - So pleased dneic is settled with you, I'd have thought lying is more like our retail therapy, it makes her feel better I used to lie as a child as we didn't have toys and bikes like other children, so I would make 'things up' to make myself feel better. (Just a thought, I may be wrong) Prayers for your house viewings

MJIM - Good ds behaved well at school, arn't they just full of suprises

I've just had to go in to school to administer Nurofen for ds2 (he has a bad headache) think a head cold, bless him, he gave me such a tight squeeze, he didn't expect me, felt like running off with him

amber32002 · 23/10/2008 16:58

Lots of prayers for people.

Son's already started his half term, so is busy doing nothing resembling homework at home (bless him)(the joys of a nearly 16 yr old!). I'm fairly tired after long meeting and trying to explain something about me on the special needs board, but at least it's a quiet evening tonight. Prayers of praise that I have lovely people in my life who've helped me through the last weeks, including all of you here.

CaptainDippy · 23/10/2008 18:16

Hey there Thoughts & Prayers too all - has been a busy day and DH is poorly sick Please pray for him to be better asap, very tough on me. Sigh.

Continuing to pray for your DSis and for your DNiece, CC. xxx

Sorry it is only short - girls are causing much mischeif

JentlyDoesIt · 23/10/2008 19:25

Hi all,

Keeping you all in your prayers, especially CC's Dsis and neice.

CD - hope DH feels better soon.

MJIM - well done to DS for being a good boy at "school"

DS had his first day in the next class up at nursery today - he is 2 next week - he went off to the new room without a second glance back at mummy - he saw all his old friends from the baby room who have gone up already!

DD is a little pickle - gets more scrummy every day, even if I do say so myself

Prayers for me tomorrow please? Have the funeral for S's mum in the afternoon

xx

CaptainCaveman · 23/10/2008 20:33

Some positive news - dsis has damaged her liver but not irreprably , and no other organs have been affected but she does have ascities (as I thought). She will be in for at least another week and they have referred her to the alchohol liasion team. Praise God for hearing and answering our prayers. I only pray that she manages to stay dry (we really need a praying emoticon!!) Thank you so much for all your prayers for us

Swaliswan · 23/10/2008 21:26

Evening Ladies,

A quick, selfish post if you don't mind as I'm not supposed to be on mnet. It's my dating scan tomorrow at 3:45 and I'm very scared. I hope that everything is OK and that I'll somehow be able to 'connect' with the fact that I'm pg after having the scan. Nothing seems very real at the moment because I've done quite a good job of distancing myself from the pregnancy so that I don't get too upset if things go wrong.

Praying for DS2 Podmog, and for you too.

SS - praying for that scan and your little bean. Try not to be scared.

CCM - good news on your sister. Praying for your niece. Maybe she is aware your sis doesn't always tell the truth? Also she is very unsettled so will be more likely to play up.

JDI - praying for all those involved in S's funeral

CD - praying, as always for you and DH.

Sooz - we sound like a double act, "Rev and Mary". Or maybe a cartoon, like Max and Ruby... but a bit more surreal...

NSFN - praying you get some good news today

I've thought through my sermon in my head, so I'm ready for Sunday. Please pray I have a good night's sleep Saturday, so I feel refreshed for Sunday (don't the clocks go back?), as I will have lots to think about as well as speak and remember what to say, such as eye contact, gestures, etc, which don't come naturally.

Swaliswan · 24/10/2008 09:16

Mary, you do not need to gesticulate to speak into someone's heart. Try not to worry too much about things like that and concentrate on the fact the God has clearly given you something very important to talk about. It is far from beyond God's ability to use someone with ASD who struggles with things like gestures. There is something very special about the way that you talk about God that is a small insight into your relationship with Him. This alone makes me want to know God more. Please remember that God has chosen you to be there on Sunday because He is going to use you.

Podmog, prayers for you and DS. It is hard enough looking after a poorly child when you are well, never mind when you are ill and you know that a cold could be serious. When are you next due at the hospital?

CC, how lucky your dniece is to have you. I don't know where you get the energy from to look after your two little ones and still do things like cuddle your dniece to sleep.

JDI, praying for the funeral to run smoothly and be a peaceful send off.

CD, praying for you and DH. Do you know if there are any Christian counsellors near you? I've had my church pay for me to see a Christian counsellor in the past and it changed my life. It's very different to seeing a secular counsellor and it transformed my life rather than just patching me up with ADs.

Amber, joining in your prayers of praise. Thank-you Lord for friends!

Sooz, how are you getting on with having all the DCs at school? Have you gotten used to it yet? It made my heart melt reading about your DS giving you a big squeeze when you gave him his medicine.

MJIM, how wonderful that DS behaved himself! Dare I ask how you are finding it being a mummy of two?

NSFN, God clearly has something better planned for you.

Prayers for everybody else on here on this very autumnal friday morning.

Notquitegrownup · 24/10/2008 10:14

Flying by with prayers and hugs for all on this thread.

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 24/10/2008 11:32

Yes, I have been considering finding a Christian Counsellor SS - the church we are going to now is huge; so I am sure there must be one or two around somewhere Praying for your dating scan today - it will be such a lovely relief for you to see little Beanie squirming around in there Come back & tell us about it!

I am feeling better today - think anti-d's must be kicking in a bit & I've had a bit more sleep the last couple of nights, which is a relief. DD3 still got up horribly early this am, but went back down again. She fell asleep in the pram on the way home from pre-school via PO which is UNHEARD of for her So think she might be sickening for something We'll see. I transferred her from pram to cot and is took her an hour to settle Hoping DH can pick DD1 up from school so DD3 can have a bit longer to nap before hitting soft play this pm .... madness!! Sorry for waffle; but trying to get all my thoughts and feelings out atm instead of holding them all in, iykwim.

Praying for a fabulous night's sleep before your sermon Mary & for God's Spirit to really be with you as you speak out His message for the congregation

Poor DS2 Podmog - now a cold as well. > Praying for real healing for him. How are you doing? How's church? xx

So glad DS is doing so well JDI & that DD is so yummy too

You know your sis & her little DD are very much my my thoughts & prayers right now CC. Pink Post on it's way!! xxxx

Keep praying for me - I can definitely see chinks of light in all the darkness

Where's DO!!!? xx

Adding my prayers to those so ably listed above. May the weekend bring good news and peace for us all.

Swaliswan · 24/10/2008 12:25

I was wondering where DO is, as well, CD.

loonywoman · 24/10/2008 14:14

Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while - seem to be so busy of late.

Prayers for all - there seem to be so many people who are sick or attending hospital for various reasons. I just pray for God's protection over everybody and for Him to pour out his healing.

Praying for you this afternoon SS. I am very excited to know whether you are having twins as you suggested a few weeks ago.

DutchOma · 24/10/2008 15:14

I'm here, I have been posting (but not on this thread) and praying as well.
Just sat with Margaret's Bob for a bit while she and my Bob went to a funeral of a mutual friend. He wouldn't sit still in his chair and I was terrified he would tip himself on the floor. Fortunately Margaret came home before he did so. Praise the Lord.

ZipadiSuzy · 24/10/2008 18:52

Sorry, quicky prayer please, dh fell off his ladder OUT of the loft backwards onto the bannister, in agony with his back! and on his birthday! just had a chinese meal at home, ds1 kicked off, so poor dh having a lovely birthday! plus I had a go at him for being too soft keeping the peace with dc e.g ds2 screams for sweets dh gives (applies to most of his wonderful parent skills, we are completely singing off different hymm sheets)

"I'm a mother, GET ME OUT OF HERE" {{{{{{frustrated emotion}}}}}}

ZipadiSuzy · 24/10/2008 18:53

And breathe!!!!!!!!!

ZipadiSuzy · 24/10/2008 18:53

ZipadiSuzy · 24/10/2008 18:53

DutchOma · 24/10/2008 19:27

Oh Suzy, big time prayers for domestic strife. did you have a go at him before or after he fell off the ladder.
Happy birthday Suzy's dh!!
And mjim ds1, 3 today.

Swaliswan · 24/10/2008 19:47

Huge prayers of praise here! All was well at the scan. Only one baby but it performed beautifully, playing with it's cord and waving at us! I'm actually 2 days behind my dates so I'm due on 25th April. No idea why I'm so big! My excuse is that baby has a big belly! I can't explain the relief to you all, knowing that the baby is OK. I had a wonderful sonographer and assistant who gave us a fab view of DC2. I really feel like I had a chance to bond iykwim. I still don't think it's sunk in that I'm pg, but I keep thinking about that precious baby on the scan and feel a huge rush of love all over again.

CaptainDippy · 24/10/2008 20:10

Oh Soooz Hope DH's Birthday has got better for you all & DH's back isn't too badly injured - whoops!!

Soooo pleased the scan went well SS Lovely

Good to "see" you DO

Please pray for family of lady on my p/n thread - just found out her mum has cancer

Prayers appreciated for my amazing 90 year old granny too who is facing a pacemaker op any day now ...
