I am frantically preparing children's resources for an all-age harvest service dh and I are leading tomorrow in Glasgow. Its not our church, we have been invited elsewhere.

Mary - we have used some of your resources. Thanks they are great.

But we are both now quietly starting to panic, and we have to be ready soon as we have a 40th Birthday Party tonight 50 miles away!

If you could pray, that would be great!

CaptainDippy · 27/09/2008 18:42

Praying WM - it'll be ok in the end, just stressy getting there iykiwm!!?

Praying for you revjustabout Hope the RW thread is inspiring tomorrow

Poor CLockface Haven't looked at your thread yet, but I will. Praying for clarity and patience in dealing with DD for you & for DH. xxxx

Hiya ladies,

Sorry just to drop in. Am praying for all but could really do with some prayers. It is DD's christening tomorrow and DP hasn't really improved in his behaviour toward the whole event. I am dreading what he is going to say / do tomorrow.

Other than that I am getting anxious about getting everything ready and everybody enjoying themselves. Also, quite vainly, I am worried about what on earth I am going to look like...

Any spare prayers really appreciated, thank you.

MaryBS · 28/09/2008 02:46

JDI, praying that all will be well today, on such a joyous occasion.

WM - glad you could use it. I found it hard to do at the time, because it was "pretend", I prefer to write stuff when I know its "for real"!, God send his spirit on you to inspire those to whom you are giving God's message.

Rev, praying for your ministry, for those you work with, and for those whom you ministry to. May you always be aware of God being at your side and guiding you, and may his healing presence comfort you. You are doing a good thing, both IRL and here on MN!

Clockface, praying for you all, and for good relationships in your family. Do you think she is finding all the changes re: church unsettling?

SS - praying for healing for you and your sickness, that God may lessen its effect, and allow you to enjoy this pregnancy.

Praying for all those who have asked for prayer.

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 07:46

Will be praying today JDI. You know the importance and significance of this event for you and your famiyl & friends - don't let that be clouded by DP's behaviour. People mock what they do not understand. I pray that his eye will really be opened today and that God would touch his heart. Praise God for beautiful precious little Libby!!!!!! xx

Flying by. SS - I was talking to someone this week who had huge relief from pregnancy sickness by using those elastic bands around her wrists which they use for travel sickness. Might just help a bit??

JDI - praying for you and your family on this special day, especially for your dh.

Prayers for the reluctant worshippers Rev.

God bless all.

DutchOma · 28/09/2008 10:05

Praying for you Jen and for both your children. Also for DP. As someone else has said I pray that God will use this occasion to open his eyes. Praying also for the vicar who will do the christening and for all your family. Remember: God can do imeasurably more that we can ask or imagine.

Praying that the sickness will be bearable today SS, praying for Mary at the immigration centre and for her ministry there.

Praying for all 'reluctant worshippers' of which I am one, but I am off to church in a minute, first time this month I think.

DO - Hia, where have you been, we have missed you!

Well, don't all faint at once, I have just been to church, (3rd time this year) luckily somebody took too much harvest giving, so enough to share with my twins ds2 has been asking for the last month to go to church, soon as he hears the 'bells' luckily he gave me 15 mins notice this week, (although still wearing trainers and jeans ready for gardening) sure God won't notice what I was wearing
Thank you God for working through my ds2

Thanks to rev for reluctant worshippers, our vicar thinks it a brill idea plus other parishioners, they said it doesn't matter how I worship, they are just pleased I do!

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 14:07

Glad you made it DO * Soooz

Remember "Toilet prayers"!!!? just found a good one ....

"Use me, then, my Saviour, for whatever purpose, and in whatever way thou may require. Here is my poor heart, an empty vessel; fill it with thy grace. Here is my sinful & troubled soul; quicken it & refresh it with thy love. Take my heart for thine abode; my mouth to spread abroad the glory of thy name; my love & all my powers, for the advancement of your believing people; & never suffer the steadfastness & confidence of my faith to abate; so at times I may be enabled from the heart to say: 'Jesus needs me, and I am His."

Dwight L. Moody, 1837 - 99.

Lovely to hear from you MJIM.

Could I ask for prayer for M, the elderly lady from next door, who came to church with me this morning for the first time in a very long time? She would like to come again, so prayers that she makes it back again, and that our Lord will speak to her and touch her heart, would be much appreciated.

amber32002 · 28/09/2008 19:05

Prayers for everyone as I read through the messages.

Prayers of praise to God from me. Enjoyed church!!!! .

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 19:50

Awwww, great stuff about your next door neighbour nqgu

Off out to do some bits, so "see" you later

Icanseethesea · 28/09/2008 20:50

Thanks for the mention in your round-up, CaptainDippy. Would really appreciate more prayers - the honeymoon period for the newbie students is now well and truly over, and one of our returners has managed to infect all the staff with a stinking, streaming cold (me included, I am sitting here coughing and sniffing like a good'un!) At the end of last week 4 of the 9 staff were off sick, so we need a huge boost in our health, cos we cannot offer the support these lovely guys need at that level.

Mjim - your baby is gorgeous andhas a lovely name!

Suzy - love the ds 'ready for gardening'! My ds is much the same, so I am sure God doesn't mind a bit!

JDI - how did the christening go?

CaptainDippy · 29/09/2008 09:55

Morning! You poor thing ICSTS - tough for you, struggling through with a horrid cold. praying for the health & well-being of all your staff & students - that extends to us all, I think

Yes, how did the Christening go, JDI??

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 29/09/2008 14:17

amber - so pleased you enjoyed church this week, God is Good!

icsts - lol re ds gardening, it wasn't him dressed for gardening, it was me, jeans and trainers - prayers for your yukky colds, plenty of fluids and rest

NQGU - yes, prayers for your elderly neighbour who enjoyed her visit to church, may it continue.

CC - Hia {{{{{wave}}}}}} continued prayers for baby O's colic

CD - How is your health this week, are you better? after your weirdy summer

Prayers for more issues at work, too much going off now that I can't keep up with all the changes

Ooh and my first visit to an accountant next week to sort out our very first Tax return (1 cell sooz)

ZipadiSuzy · 29/09/2008 14:32

Shame ds2 is too young for a 'Taize' service, he loved the hymms and responses yesterday at church, he hums constantly! may look for a childs version of a Taize CD he was sooooo cute.

loonywoman · 29/09/2008 14:56

Hi All

SS - i am glad you are not in hospital and hope that the new meds are working. I know exactly what you mean about understanding termination - it is awful isn't it. Knowing you need to eat to stop yourself feeling sick yet knowing that eating will generally make you sick. I have been trying all the suggested rememdies and the only thing that is vaguely working is orange oil - i have just bought a bottle of the essential oil and sniff it on a tissue when nauseaous. found cutting an orange and sniffing the skin worked before had the oil. Hope you are doing ok while DH is away. I am still suffering and Doc is now considering hospital referral if no better soon.

Have only been offline for a weekend and it seems like there are so many new needs in that time. Going to go through the messages more slowly now and pray for each.

JentlyDoesIt · 29/09/2008 16:21

Hello all!

Well, we had a brilliant day. Though DP didn't enjoy the service too much and did not take part in the baptism responses, he did say that he thought it had gone well and had enjoyed the day itself - more than I could have hoped for

DD was an angel if you discount the bit where she did a bit of a sick down herself, just as I was about to hand her to the vicar!!! She didn't cry and just smiled and cooed at everybody - proud mummy! Will upload a pic or 2 shortly...

Prayers for all and welcome back to lovely DO - hope you had a marvellous time

loonywoman · 29/09/2008 16:34

I am so glad the baptism went well JDI and that you had a lovely day.
