How do you cleanse your energy?

Lisanoonan · 18/11/2024 21:11

I feel that we can pick up people's energy in different places.

I went to visit Cancun, Mexico a year ago, and I stayed in a hotel. I got a bad vibe from the male staff there. They were sitting round with lots of male guests.

I later found out that a criminal gang ran the hotel, and that the staff there were extremely bad people. They were murderers and were heavily involved in crime.

After my visit to Mexico, I honestly feel like my energy has changed. I feel like there is some dark energy on me. I had been sitting close murderers and I feel like I've picked up some of their dark energy. It feels like there is nasty energy on me.My eyes have even gone darker.

I'm really serious about this. My energy has changed for the worse and I really don't like it. And I'm trying to cleanse my energy.

I've tried to cleanse my energy by imagining light washing over me, and by imagining myself in a protective bubble.
It still doesn't seem to have fully cleansed my
energy.

People have said to me that I'm nastier than I used to be, and that I've changed after visiting Mexico.

People on here who are into spirituality and energy,

What have you done to cleanse your energy please?

This is a public discussion, it's not controlling to express a view.

there’s no problem expressing a view, as long as you’re aware it just your view and not necessarily correct.

Oh I’m perfectly aware that it is my opinion. However, my perspective aligns with the framework through which the Ozp views the world. As it’s a non- dissenting opinion it is not relevant whether it is just an opinion as it operates in the language of the conversation. It is like we are both speaking English. And you come into it shouting in French.

Although English is just one of many languages, we don’t need to reference why we are speaking in English, it just is. You, on the other hand are walking into that conversation speaking French.

You need to immerse yourself in water. We are linked to the elements. It really is that simple. You don't need to buy anything or watch anything. Someone somewhere is profitting by that. Get out in Nature. It is THE most beneficial way to reset yourself.
Nature has been worshipped since time began for this very reason. It keeps us alive and balanced. Not crystals, not rituals. I say this as a practising Pagan. Light a candle, any candle. Its the flame that is important and cleansing.

Eh? 🫣
All opinions are allowed, as long as they are not given in a nasty way.

I have been to a spiritual healer a few times recently.

It has transformed me…. I had a lot of weight on my shoulders from family issues. It’s all lifted. My healer cleared a lot of the pain I carried. A she was doing it, my tummy was popping in the strangest way, a sensation never felt before. The next day I was violently sick. By 4:30pm it lifted and I felt amazing.
I recommend one to anyone who believes in a little bit of woo. It can be truly transformative. It’s amazing to believe in something different.

In your opinion.
Warning people about spiritual 'healers' is important because they generally speak utter tosh.

You have an opinion.
I have an opinion.
We are both allowed to express said opinions.
At the moment you are the one coming across as angry, not me. Also, there is no typical atheist just as there is bo typical person of faith.
Just stop.

I’m really glad that you were helped. Spiritual healing can have such a profound effect on mind body and spirit

No tactic censorship, just preventing someone policing the thread.

Oh the irony🤦‍♀️

anyway OP, I hope you have managed to find something which helps re different ways to clear the energy,

if you’re still struggling other ideas might be visit your local spiritual shop.,” they might be able to point you in the direction of a shamanic practitioner who could possibly help. Alternatively, a local spiritualist church might be able to help if you think you have a specific spirit attached to you.

one other thing to consider is that we often absorb energies from places as well as people into our spheres of sensation- I’ve got a book about it , Can’t remember it’s exact title but will dig it out.

CharlotteLucas3 · 29/11/2024 23:12

Have a look at some of Ginny Metheral's videos on YouTube...she talks a lot about this sort of thing. It think when you live somewhere very populated you have a lot of people's energy fields crossing yours so you need to protect yourself from that.

JacksonBrodieJacksonLamb · 04/12/2024 09:45

OP, I'm sorry you've been so disturbed by your trip.

Try this:

  • Put one hand on your heart and another on the top of your head and say "all the negative energy that isn't mine." Long slow breath out.
  • Keep your hand on your heart. Place your other hand on these parts of the body in turn: forehead, chin, throat, heart, sternum, pelvic bone, sitting bones. Every time you put your hand in a new position, repeat the phrase and breathe out again.
  • Repeat the whole thing if you need to.

Whether or not you picked up negative energy in Cancun, you feel like you did and you're telling yourself that you did. I'm not going to tell you to stop this thought, but you could try focusing on your body through body scans, etc (google Danny Penman and Mark Williams). Meditation might help you start to notice when you're getting stuck in this story. (I'm not saying it's not real, but we can all get stuck in stories that don't serve us.)

For those who are coming here just to rubbish the OP: most of us don't live according to empirically tested principles, but it turns out that a lot of stuff we do instinctively because it makes us feel good (talking to good friends, getting a hug, walking in woods) is having a beneficial effect on our nervous systems, and the science is now there to back this up. Prayer and meditation changes the structure of the prefrontal cortex. We didn't know this fifty years ago. (The Expectation Effect by David Robson is full of actual evidence about how belief/mindset/ritual impact outcomes.)

A decade ago I totally dismissed the idea that what I ate would impact my mental health. Now we know how important the gut-brain axis is.

So while I am hugely interested in evidence, I also recognise that we don't (yet) have evidence for the efficacy of loads of things that people find helpful. I do things that help me that I CAN cite papers on (like getting early light or eating within a 12 hour window) and things that I don't (yet) have evidence for, like energy work. There's an increasing amount of evidence on the value of somatic (body/breath) work, so I suspect it won't be long before people take for granted that energy is as real as the gut microbiome and dark matter.

Great post. There’s also good evidence of the effect chanting - esp vibratory chanting has on the vagus nerve. Apparently AEIOU being repeated has a particularly beneficial effect. These were sacred to the Cathars and often formed part of their chants/songs/work.

There’s so many who seem to think science knows everything it will ever know. People have been working with these things for millennia because they work irrespective of whether we understand why - that’s enough for me.
