Can you recommend me pieces of scripture to read when you are depressed please?

I've been reading this one:
1 Peter 5:7. 7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

But I'm tired, my soul is tired. I've got a bad diagnosis looming and I feel like someone is pushing my head under the water and I can't come up for a breath.

Any verses you could recommend I'd be grateful.

Jesus loves you so much, that He gave His life to save you. You are indeed engraved on the palms of His hands.

I've been listening to some Christian affirmations for anxiety on YouTube. They're really calming.

The simplicity of this doesn't make any less powerful. It felt to me like a parent telling their child to keep still ❤️

Well, Jesus wouldn't have had to if we hadn't needed saving! So do feel bad you have flaws...we all have!

I recommend ‘The Imitation of Christ’; I read in it most days. Or Julie Rayburn’s ‘Be still and know’.

Have you tried the Lectio 36 app? It's a short morning and evening ;spoken) meditation on different scriptures. It's so soothing and always calms me when my thoughts are all over the place.
