Ha ha Suze! We've only seen the Pop Shoponce - dd was entranced by it!

Well my meeting went well (I think)! It's given me yet more food for thought.

Hope you are all well!

MaryBS · 17/03/2008 16:15

RL - would love the gory details So glad you felt it went well though!

MaryBS · 17/03/2008 16:16

BTW You know the first choice nannies ad that appears on MN... anyone else thinks it looks like CD?

NorthernLurker · 17/03/2008 16:55

Suze - my dd2 loves the popshop as well! I just stay out of the room

PandaG · 17/03/2008 18:09

I did go on the night out, had a good time, excellent company and good food. And yes, I was sober CC - had had a glass or so of champagne, but that amount would not make me fall over! Was a wet step and a girly high heel skidding that was the problem.

Glad the meeting seemed to go well Rosey.

How is your friend today Mary?

Podmog - how are you today flower?

worzella · 17/03/2008 18:14

Can vouch for the wet step and girly heels! Had it happened on the way home... now that would have been a different story!

Hi everyone -

CaptainDippy · 17/03/2008 18:54

I am here, just that this new job is taking up every waking moment atm - Think I am "winning" though!!?

{{{{{Podmog}}}} Here for you. Lord hold you close, and your precious family. xx

How long are you down this way, Podglet!!?

Right, children to put to bed, work to do ........

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 17/03/2008 19:13

Go Dippy - you're taking on the NCT monster and winning!!!

MaryBS · 17/03/2008 19:16

Good to hear from you CD!

OK, the "prayers" story gets even more embarrassing. I fired off an email to the vicar yesterday, apologising for "making a hash of the prayers". I led at Morning Prayer this morning, picked some prayers to read out. Vicar just phoned, thought I was apologising for THIS MORNING'S prayers, which he thought were a bit wordy... . I told him I thought we needed them

CaptainDippy · 17/03/2008 19:30

Grrrr!

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 17/03/2008 19:32

Good evening Ladies. Just popping in before I have dinner. I'm praying for you all.

CD, I thought that the NCT job was more limited in the number of hours work they required you to do. I'm praying that you manage to get and stay on top of it.

Mary, i wouldn't worry about the prayers. It's what God thinks that matters and I'm sure that He's glad to hear from you xxx

MaryBS · 17/03/2008 21:19

Hi SS, good to see you! I'm not worried about the prayers, just thought I'd share it, as I thought it was quite amusing in its way .

I'm on a roll with my harvest talk (intentional pun there), hopefully I'll have a first draft by the end of this evening... seems so weird to be talking about harvest though!!!!

CaptainDippy · 17/03/2008 22:43

It will be SS (I hope); but it's the initially set-up and getting my head round the system I using etc that is taking up every waking minute atm - I think I am "winning" though Thank you for prayers

Glad talk is going well Mary

Hi all, I am going to make a renewed effort to follow this thread and not get sucked into active convo's...

MESSAGE FOR MARYBS:
Thank you for your lovely interesting email - my PC has died so I cannot access it right now but knowing this was imminent I have backed up my inbox & contacts (sad!) so once the PC's successor is up and running I will reply properly! But please save it in case I have any probs and need it re-sending! Hope that makes sense. XX

FAQ · 18/03/2008 09:25

Could I ask for some prayers for my (very close) friend and her DH. Their 3yr old DD (my DS2's "best friend) is in Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford today having another of her operations on her back. She has severe Scoliosis and needs 6 monthly operations until she's grown to make sure her lungs/heart etc aren't restricted as she grows.

This is her 2nd operation, not as "big" as the first one, but her parents are still worried.

Thanks.

Swaliswan · 18/03/2008 09:45

FAQ praying for your friends's DD. I can't imagine what it must be like entrusting your LO to hospital staff and knowing that they are under a general anaesthetic

Well, I've been sent home sick today and told not to go back in until next week. We all have some sort of cold/cough/sore throat/conjunctivitis thing. I'm feeling a bit lost not being at work but I'm going to leave DD with the childminder for a bit while I have a sleep in peace. If you have time, I would appreciate prayers for DH and DD who are probably feeling worse than me. DH was up most of the night with a high temperature.

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2008 11:19

Poor poorly household SS Praying you are all better soon.

Oh FAQ, poor little one Praying for little DD and for her parents - awful for her to have to go through and terrible for her parents. May God wrap them up in His love and care - Praying a miracle of healing for her too. xx How are you doing FAQ??

Hello Walnutshell! Hope your PCs successor is up and running asap

I am ok, wading through yet more NCT stuff ..... sigh ....

Roseylea · 18/03/2008 16:02

Hi! Just v. quickly...

Could you please pray for a 17 y o I know, who is living in a homeless shelter (long, dreadful story). It is 20 miles from her sixth form college and she is getting up at 5 a.m. to get there, and sharing a room with addicts of all sorts, with drunk men bursting in in the night, fights etc etc. It's an awful situation and I really want to be able to help her but I can't offer her a place at ours for various reasons (Some to do with her homeless status, some to do with my job etc).

So I am thinking of giving her some money and a card saying that I am praying for her. PLease pray that she is able to get out of the homeless shelter and onto somehere happier really really quickly.

CaptainCaveman · 18/03/2008 17:12

Praying Rosey, what an awful situation for her to be in. I've visited our City homeless shelters through work and they are not pleasant places to be.

Praying for your household too SS, may you all recover quickly and be back to your usual selves.

I am praising God that our house didn't set alight last night - I had put a towel to dry on the radiator but when dh turned on the halogen spotlight in the evening, we didn't realise part of the towel was resting on the light. About 9.15 I could smell smoke and the dining room was just full of smoke. The towel had a 4 inch hole burnt in it and I think a couple more minutes and it would've burst into flames - right next to the curtain!! EEEEEEK. Thank You God for keeping us safe and protecting our house, and us too!

Walnutshell · 18/03/2008 21:31

Phew. Right, am up to speed with this thread at least - meaning I have read it but still doing my best to digest!

Thanks CD , think PC Mark II will be back in action soon although do have internet access in the meantime - and how would we all manage without it??!

A couple of things have particularly struck me reading this - NorthernLurker thanks for posting Thu 06-Mar-08 23:48:53 - those words conveyed a real meaning for me as I have been in a seemingless endless spiral of insecurity and doubt about my 'purpose' for years now and still not reached an understanding despite recognising my blessings of a wonderful dh and ds and room to grow in all ways. Podmog - hope you are making steady progress, your sadness and despair resounded in your posts X

Echoing the kind words and prayers of all other posters as best I can in my own conversations with God.

ZipadiSuzy · 18/03/2008 22:17

CC - Crikey! lucky escape there, those what if's are always frightening arn't they. Glad you are all ok though!

CD - I was getting worried there, glad you've posted, prayers you settle in your new job soon!

I felt well enough to go back to work tonight, have just returned home knicky knacky noodled!!!! people told me I didn't look well, thought I masked it quite well with make-up.

I start my new job next Thursday, soooooo excited! Please god heal me in time!!!!

amber32002 · 19/03/2008 07:28

Praying for all who are wrestling ill children, unco-operative "other halves", tricky work colleagues, house moves, personal circumstances...

I have been 'overdoing things' this last couple of weeks and ended up feeling quite ill, so please might I ask for prayers that I learn to be more gentle with myself?

Son's off skiing with school today, and last time they lost all of them at the airport. (no, really, they did... ) Prayers please that they'll get to the US as planned, and all come back in one piece (and that I'll stop panicking over it).

Some good news - looks like the senior Bishop is happy for me to go ahead with autism inclusion work for the church (hooray!). Now I guess I have to get writing....(oh heck...)

CaptainDippy · 19/03/2008 10:20

Get some rest, SS!!!!!!

Consider yourself told off!

You too Soooooz!!

Oh rosey about the homeless 17 yo, praying she finds a way out asap. xx Think card and money are a great idea

CC - goodness, praise God it wasn't worse!

Wading my way through yet more work stuff .... sigh ....
