Amber, lovely to see you. praying for your inspiration

I am shattered again. School disco last night, and only one offer of help to set up...meant I was at school until 4.20 setting up, and then back at 5 to finish before the disco started at 5.30. My poor children are having a really raw deal from me right now . They have got used to me apologisisng fro being grumpy and explaining that I am really tired. It just doesn't feel like holy week to me, as I haven't made it to any evening services so far, have just been very busy. Does not feel like Easter on Sunday at all again.

Dear friend was house sitting this morning befire the nursery run, and I cam home to findshe had done my ironing - waht a blessing. BOth DC have a friend to play, and so I am going to chill out on here til it is time fpr me to make tea!

xxx to you all x

Roseylea · 19/03/2008 19:30

Hi all!

{{{{Panda}}} hope you can get some rest and time to prepare your heart for Easter too. Wr had our school disco tonight - manic!

Hi CD! Sooooooo glad your job is going well!

FAQ are you okay? {{{{hug}}}}

Hi Amber! Praying for you - your work for the church sounds good!

If you can please can you pray pray pray for the young woman I mentioned yesterday. I've found her temporary accommodation with a very safe and capable christian family, but I'm not sure of the legal ins and outs of it - she may not be able to accept the offer as it may affect her chances of longer term housing. It all seems so wrong. Please pray that God would give her whatever is best for her, and in the meantime watch over and protect her in the hostel.

Love to everyone xxx

MaryBS · 19/03/2008 20:20

RL - praying for that poor girl...

Panda - praying for strength for you, and that you can join me in catching up on holy week tomorrow... I'm having my foot washed tomorrow night. I've not washed all week, just to make sure its truly penitential for our vicar

Hi Walnutshell - don't worry, I've kept the email safe! You're the only one who'd want to read my drivel anyway

FAQ - glad to hear the little girls op went OK. Praying for God to stay close to you too...

SS - how are you and your household?

Amber - praying for rest for you...

Prayer for all those who are tired, not written by me I hasten to add! Its from a book for weary Christians:

Lord I am looking for meaning and purpose in my weariness.
I look at the cross and see exhaustion that saved the world and hear "it is accomplished"
I often feel I am wearied for no great purpose.
Help me to believe that my weariness has value in your sight.
Help me to hold on, to trust you
Sometimes I find that very difficult
Amen

ZipadiSuzy · 19/03/2008 20:23

Aw Rosey - prayers for the young lady you are helping, and for the family that have taken her in, the more I read on this thread the more human kindness I hear about.

Panda - 'Take a chill pill' is what my friends dd says to her easier said than done hey! prayers for Easter to feel like 'EASTER' for you!

ZipadiSuzy · 19/03/2008 20:24

Hia Mary {{{{{{{{waves like a mad woman}}}}}}}

ZipadiSuzy · 19/03/2008 20:26

Foot wash??????????

MaryBS · 19/03/2008 20:29

Hi Sooz!

In imitation of Jesus washing the feet of the apostles on Maunday Thursday, our vicar washes the feet (or a foot in this case) of 12 members of the congregation. Supposed to be very humbling...

CaptainDippy · 19/03/2008 20:29

So kind of you, Rosey - continuing to pray for her. xx

Oh Panda sweetie - you seriously need some chill time. Praying you get it asap. xx

I could do with some chill time of my own; but for now I'll crack on with work .... sigh ....

Myjobismum - you poor poor mummy, how frightening, thank the lord for taking care of him, now sit down and poor/pore/paw/pour yourself a cuppa

Walnutshell · 19/03/2008 22:14

Mary, you definitely don't write drivel

WalnutEGGshell · 20/03/2008 08:04

Mary, that book you alluded to in the email - is it Philip Yancey's What's So Amazing About Grace?

Grace being one of those trickier issues to get your head around

MaryBS · 20/03/2008 08:34

Like the new name... no I've got that one, but its nowhere near as good as 'Free of Charge' by Miroslav Volf. Its not something you could read all at once (in fact I still haven't finished it all!), but I found it an incredible book to read.

WalnutEGGshell · 20/03/2008 08:58

Thanks Mary. Yes, I've heard mixed reviews re Philip Yancey and that book in particular but it would be good to read something on grace. I'm going to look up Volf on Amazon now!

CaptainDippy · 20/03/2008 10:05

It's pour, Soooz!

Great to "see" you MJIM Praise God for one wriggling healthy bean - what amazing answer to prayer - my heart is over-flowing with joy fory ou .... and praise God he kept DS safe too!

Wading through yet more work .....

Popping in!

Packing for wee holiday to Isle of Cumbrae (my parents' holiday flat). Can't wait - dcs are v excited to get to the seaside.

My parents have booked a B&B so have offered me and dh a night out!!!

All well - ds doing ok at school for now - had fab chat with headteacher last week. He's going to be referred for SALT for his communication issues, but they stress definitely not for his speech IYSWIM. So prayers that this is a step forward would be appreciated.

He's been moved to the year above for his reading as he was finding the P1 stuff too easy - he's been doing other work with the P2s too and seems a lot happier. This was the teacher's suggestion do I'mv pleased they're taking his abilities as well as his difficulties seriously. Still answering back to teachers if he doesn't get his way, so we're praying for peace for him and some kind of breakthrough so we can understand his lack of respect for the "rules".

He kicked off in church on Sunday and I had to remove him while he sobbed and tantrummed - all over a tambourine . Think I got an inkling of how he is at school.

Off to school Easter service in an hour then hot cross buns and coffee afterwards - yum

Happy Easter everyone!

notsofarnow · 20/03/2008 13:39

Feeling stressed - don't know whats the matter with me, its as if I can't cope with going to work and the kids and the house - and I only work two days a week. Just feel really panicy, want a tidy house but can't start it because it seems too big a task - and its probably not that bad really.

Didn't read school letter properly this morning got there and it was no uniform so had to drive the three miles home to get them clothes and back again.

Its ds birthday party on Sat and usually it doesn't bother me but I just keep thinking what if no one turns up, have had replies from about 11 so far 6 coming and i need to buy all the food today coz tomorrow is going to be a no no. Haven't been to one Holy Week meeting.

Going to see Stuart Townend tonight so really praying that something breaks through for me.
