Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

I suspected as much.

Debating whether to report to Mnet Towers.

Aerwyna · 11/06/2021 16:28

I have a PM from someone I don’t know that has been removed at user’s request?

speakout · 11/06/2021 16:49

Aerwyna I think a few of us have had the message. It was spam, some marketing, inviting us to join a spiritual website ( at cost)

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 11/06/2021 16:59

I see. Thank you speakout

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/06/2021 18:12

I had a pm. Speakout do you know if we need to report or can just delete?

BlankTimes · 11/06/2021 18:53

Think it must have been reported then retracted as all that's left now it its title and a message saying "This message has been removed at user request"

OR

The poster realised it wasn't being received in the manner she thought she'd offered it.
I think it's culture-difference, an American approach of hey let's market and maximise your talents, you pay me to be in my directory which I publicise where you can't afford to, so you get more customers, as opposed to more reserved Brit practise of small-scale with often little self-promotion.

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/06/2021 20:17

Either way reporting would have notified HQ that someone was breaching terms and conditions because unless things have changed it used to be you couldn't approach people in this manner without prior approval from HQ which they didn't generally do - on board stuff/email stuff seems to be more typical.

I will just delete and carry on eating some soul feeding pizza we'll ignore the amount of calories or the sheer fact the base is only there to support the melted cheese BlushGrin

HillsBesideTheSea

Pizza sounds good- I admit it is the cooked cheese that is the main feature for me too!
When DD was a toddler her and I would eat a big bowl of melted cheese, with strips of cucumber and breadsticks to dip in - a cosy sharing snack- and still one of her favourites.
Another glorious day here', sunny, with a cool wind,.
Just back from the gym and early shopping before it gets too busy, and happy at my find of this delightful Namaskara Mudra Buddha figure I bought from Poundland- a steal at £4. For those that enoy the Eastern arts- and a good size- 10 inches or so.
Sets a tranquil tone to a corner of my room.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hello sisters, I'm procrastinating before getting on with the things I should be doing.

Speakout I have a penchant for Buddha, I have several and most have been found unexpectedly on the high street. The grey one which is big lives on my kitchen display rack, he was from Asda.

The clear crystal one called the Buddha of Clarity has something on his base which makes him change colour depending on the angle you look at him, it's so hard to photograph his face which is much more pleasant than it appears in the photo. He was bought from QVC!
The banner (on my washing line!) was a gift from a friend who had travelled somewhere exotic.

BlankTimes · 12/06/2021 12:54

Sometimes, inclusions near the tip of a crystal are called 'Buddha' this one is in a Lemurian.

Trying again with the little Buddha of Clarity, he's sitting in front of a larger white ceramic Buddha from a charity shop. Sometimes they are donated and sometimes they are manufactured for the charity as a fundraiser so there are quite a few to choose from.

Have a Zen day sisters Halloween Wink

Loving all the buddhas. £4! That’s great speakout, looks like a lovely piece.

That’s interesting about the crystals BlankTimes and I like the idea of Buddha vibes via the banner on your washing line!

Here’s some that live in my garden

I love all the buddhas. I've got a few dotted around my house too. My favourite is a large canvas above my sofa, he brings a zen-like calm to my lounge. I'm on the look out for a garden statue for a corner of my garden I need to sort out...something like the photo below.

Awake early again this morning. The nights are so short at the moment aren't they? It hardly seems to be dark for anytime at all. It looks like today's going to be a hot one. I want to do a few things in the garden so will get out there soon before the sun comes round the back (well, as soon as I can without annoying the neighbours!)

I spoke to a friend yesterday who I've not seen for a while, she's told me about a new women's group who hold ceremonies in the woods. I'm going to go along with her to the next one. I love the idea of being outside as a group.

Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday.

I am loving all these pictures of Buddhas! Who knew so many of us had a similar love! These pictures are so full of divine juice!! Made me stop and think about my Buddhas too- I have several in the garden and little ones propped about in odd places.
I am having a slow start to the day, thinking about a second coffee. I have had my spa shower, done some yoga time, now just pottering in my bedroom, painting toenails, pulling Tarot.
Looks like a warm day here too, although probably not as warm as some of you will have in the south of the country.
I am working today, but a slow flow with lots of breaks.
I hope you all manage to enjoy some outdoor time today.

queenrollo · 13/06/2021 08:41

We're a Buddhas family too. I have a matching pair of tall statues either side of one of my fireplaces, a little fat buddha on a shelf in the entrance hall and a few of various sizes scattered around the garden.

Scorching hot here, and it coincides with me on anti-biotics with a photo sensitivity warning. I had to go out and buy linen trousers and a big straw hat so that I can still garden!
I am tentatively planning to rise very early on the Longest Day and make the 25 min drive to the coast to see the sun rise. As we're East coast it is spectacular - if it's clear!

I am feeling a little ungrounded at the moment though. In all honesty my house is chaotic with clutter, and getting family on board to help with it is difficult. In the main it is not MY stuff which is why I am struggling to create the flow I would like.

speakout · 13/06/2021 09:12

queenrollo

Lovely to hear you are a Buddha lover too- it's so inspiring!
I find clutter quite stressfull, I try to keep stuff to a minimum.
If main living areas are clear then I find it much easier.
I don't like clothes and shoes lying around, I will pile them up on the stairs to head to the bedrooms.
OH is bad for cluttering up the dining table with food wrappers, chargers, mail, random objects. I stuff the whole load into a carrier bag and throw it into a cupboard- rubbish, chargers, masks, the lot.
Luckily he is good humoured about it!!

I thought it may be interesting for some of our sisters who aren't yet familiar with Buddha to explain the mudras

It's getting warm here, hopefully the breeze will help.

HillsBesideTheSea · 13/06/2021 17:55

Thank you blanktimes

life has been a bit insane recently and not really in the most gentle manner. It does feel like everything that was is being torn apart. And it is most discombobulating. And for once I find myself drawn to planning and working on some Midsummer activities and rituals. Sundown and sunup are something I am looking at. And in this moment it feels like this is needed to bring to a closure the phase i am in so that I will be able to move forwards.
So i am planning a little curl up with a pile of books and a note book after I have fed people. This week will be a busy one and I suspect that I will need to ground more than I will have opportunity so planning something to look forwards might just be the ticket.

I have started the process of harvesting and drying calendula flowers for future batches of salves, teas etc. And currently have some peony flower petals drying. As I have never done those I am hoping they maintain their vibrant red tone colours.

Hayfever though is troublesome this year, so the herbal teas that I enjoy are playing more of a role, and I am looking forwards to sourcing some more local honey.

Each little thing has been so simple and yet feels so powerful. I guess i am in a reflective mood.

May your weeks treat you kindly and there be lots of wonderful magical moments to treasure

BlankTimes · 13/06/2021 18:42

Hills Im in a tearing hurry, just wanted to say don't forget to use fresh calendula petals in your salad, there's nothing like them sprinkled on lettuce, the colour 'pow' as well as the health benefits, I'd love some right now!

I used to steep the calendula petals in sweet almond oil for eczema. such a gentle cure and soaks in well.

speakout · 13/06/2021 20:06

Loving the calendula ideas. I have been making some solar candles today with orange oil and calendula, turns up the heat.
The skies have opened this evening and given way to rain, I had to run out, barefoot to dance in the downpour and inhale deep lungfuls of petrichor. So refreshing.
Unfortunately my neighbour's outdoor christian choir rehersal has been halted because of the downpour- they were in full swing- the wind knocked over chairs and even blew some of the rain soaked pages of the score into my garden.
I will return them if I can remember.

Hello sisters, I've been enjoying reading all your posts and thought I would pop by a plump up the cushions. Cold infused tea all round.

I've enjoyed seeing all the Buddha pictures, I don't have one and never had an urge to have one. It's interesting how different things reach out and touch us all.

I had a one to one yoga class today that focussed on resetting my energies and breathing. It was followed up by a Thai yoga massage. I feel like a new woman. My mind is less cluttered and now I gave some energy to tackle my house which has become cluttered during the last few horrid months.

My gran's cat continues to settle in well with us. He remains a huge comfort to me.

Sending love and blessings to all of you.

speakout · 14/06/2021 06:21

TotoAnnihiliation your one to one yoga class sounds amazing- what a treat. I know a Thai massage can be quite vigorous- I hope you enjoyed that too! I am set for a variety of new and old yoga classes again this week, one I tried last week which was wonderful- I have booked again, and a new one but a teacher I have known for 12 years or so- she has only just qualified in yoga teaching, but has been teaching other forms of bodywork for decades- it will be good to see her again. I am finding a renewed enthusiasm for my practice in trying out new teachers and new classes. It is easy to get stuck in the same mindset with yoga.
It is still raining here, and currently 11 degrees, set for a dry but cool day. The air feels so fresh and clean, I know the garden will have enjoyed the downpour.
I spent yesterday making stacks of candles, my cats were running crazy- it was such a warm day I had all my windows and doors open, but so windy, gusts would slam doors shut and curtains were billowing into the rooms. My cats were running for cover, I'm sure they thought we were under attack!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 14/06/2021 09:29

Toto that sounds fabulous, I hope you slept well after your massage.

Speakout yes, I've found a new enthusiasm for my yoga practice. Being able to go to classes again has reminded me how wonderful the energy is when you practise as a group. You don't get that from online classes. I went to a vinyasa class last night at my gym, which was a nice end to the day. Tonight is a slow flow with the teacher I've been with for years. She's the most amazing woman, I wish you all could meet her, she's just magical!

The weather's been gorgeous here, temperature in the high 20's. I spent most of yesterday in the garden, it was almost like being on holiday!

Aerwyna · 14/06/2021 10:11

Grin speakout the image of you rushing out to dance in the rain, breathe in that petrichor is just wonderful! I adore such wild moments and admit to being very amused at the thought of you in your garden in contrast with the unfortunate events experienced by those next door.. Grin

Wonderful to hear of the joy that ‘in person’ practice is bringing to my yogi sisters here and your session sounds incredibly healing Toto

Thank you for the mudra link BlankTimes, fascinating stuff you share as ever.

Also enjoying the talk of calendula and all the creations, speakout your candles sound divine.

queenrollo I hope you make it to the coast for the solstice sunrise. I used to live on the east coast and share your love of those magical sunrises. Just beautiful.

Another warm day here and variety of jobs to get through. It’s good to have the windows and doors open whilst I work from home.

Wishing everyone a magical day

hilariousnamehere · 15/06/2021 00:08

I've been filming all day today and unwound by drawing moon phases to kick off my new sketchbook/journal/grimoire hybrid - I'm feeling properly inspired for the first time in ages.

Ridiculously hot here and both my cats are sulking, but that made your rushing out into the rain all the more refreshing to read speakout!

Loved all the Buddhas - I don't have any, but there are all sorts of symbols in my garden, from hares to mermaids, bats to turtles and a few Cornish piskies too Grin today's other true magic was getting out just after dusk had fallen to water my plants and deadhead my glorious memorial yellow rose, which has bloomed this year more abundantly than ever round my front window. It almost makes my 70s semi look like a cottage in the woods...

Wishing you all restful sleep and a magical tomorrow.

speakout · 15/06/2021 07:06

VioletCharlotte I am glad you have found renewed enthusiams for your yoga practice. Your teacher sounds lovely, yoga classes are always great places to meet good people !
hilariousnamehere I love the sound of yor magical garden, especially the Cornish piskies . I am the other end of the country, they sound simiar to the Scottish Brownie.
We have so many little Fae creatures in Britain, indeed all over Europe.
Cornwall - and Scotland- are part of the Celtic fringe, myths and folklore have persisted longer than some other parts.
My garden was a bit barren when I moved here, previous occupants had designedd a " low maintainance"" garden- not much more than a square lawn and pavings stones, weed control fabric and gravel.
Plants didn't thrive well, but I persevered, digging up lawn, ripping up weed control, planting trees, looking to get to that critical mass where Gaia would spread her wings.
I see she has returned- just in the past year or two the garden has greened, birds and wildlife have returned, the vibrancy is there. I still have more work to do, but now that the party has started I know plants will thrive.
I am lucky to have woodland just beyond my garden, in every direction, so that has fed my soul while I waited!
Set for another coolish day here, highs of 15 degrees. I love hot weather, so would be good to be a tad warmer.
