Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

I don’t seem to have had much space to join in of late but as ever I’m enjoying everyone’s posts and energy here. It’s always good to grab a moment for a tea in the sanctuary we have built here.

wheresmymojo and Delphinium20 I love the thought of you travelling along with our past selves and also connecting with us here, crossing paths as you explore previous threads. Makes me want to revisit too!

Violet I hope your cosy cave provided the comfort you needed. I agree about the value of being of being able to work from home. Glad to hear your friend is feeling happier.

BlankTimes those hares are fabulous! I’ve never been to Avebury and would love to see them. Such fascinating links as ever

queenrollo I hope your tarot provided the insight you needed. I know it’s tough when everything feels so changeable- I feel like I’ve been riding a similar wave of late. Sending good wishes for calm today.

buggeroffvirus it’s lovely to hear of your connection with your tarot deck, I like the feeling of flow with it. I’m afraid I can’t help with the giving readings question either but love your intention to support an animal charity.

I’ve also loved listening to the chat about the nature pond, turn of season, the mini altars we all intuitively create and the idea of warming pots of soup. Thank you everyone for all you share. This is my place of respite right now and it’s so good to know you’re all there.

clairethewitch70 · 04/09/2020 09:29

Can I join in please? Do I need to go back and read all the threads?Smile
I am training to be a Magi in the Fellowship of Isis and have recently joined an Alexandrian Wiccan Coven after being a solitary for twenty years.

BlankTimes · 04/09/2020 10:56

Welcome clairethewitch70 of course you can join in, grab a beanbag and a cuppa.
It's not mandatory to read all the old threads, a lot of people who join are new to our ways so they like to as it gives them a good feel of the place and who we are and it explains a lot of things that we do, like the 8's for example. (Light a candle at 8am and/or pm and connect as a group, give or take as much energy as you need, join in whenever you like) or our magic kettle that pours whatever brew you fancy at that time.
I remember seeing some of the FOI courses some years ago, they seem like a great organisation. You know what you want and are following your own Path, that's a great place to be.

Violet I'm so pleased your friend found it helpful, I was hesitant about posting it, because some people can't accept that ethical stance, I've encountered it a lot, Reiki training has a lot of good teaching around things like that. Someone upthread mentioned Reiki and sending energy to someone's higher self in those circumstances, we advise a similar but broader stance, to send it to/for the highest good of everyone concerned.

Big hello to everyone else around the fire this morning, brew anyone?

queenrollo · 04/09/2020 17:39

Evening all.

I did a simple three card draw with my tarot and it will come as no surprise to some of you that the first card I drew was The Tower. I actually laughed out loud when I turned it over.
Anyway - the reading was essentially like looking in a mirror and it basically said 'you darn well KNOW what the issues are, stop dilly-dallying'.....so that's me told!

It's been another difficult day, again things beyond my control. The problem is that because I am so tired (in every sense) my reactions are problematic. My youngest isn't back to school until next week. A lot of the stress is tied into preparing for that and I feel I will breathe a huge sigh of relief when I actually get him through the school gates.
I am much better at dealing with the storm than waiting for it - if that makes sense?

wheresmymojo · 04/09/2020 21:01

Good evening!

I'm now up to thread 3!

It may be a while before I fully join you in the present.

In the meantime I've discovered The Green Witch on YouTube who I like very much, I watched her two videos for 'beginners' today. I think you would all like the advice that she gives as it reflects your own advice on these threads.

I enjoying beginning to explore what I feel drawn towards.

Today I purchased my first crystal - a lovely amethyst geode, I'm drawn to the colour purple and have wanted one since I was a child!

I've also purchased a brass incense burner for what I guess will be the start of an altar.

Tonight I am curled up with a book by Starhawk called The Earth Path about grounding your spirit in nature.

Otherwise I am just building small everyday changes in at the moment - I've been adding essential oils to my shower.

Next I'm going to make my own cleaning products with some oils in. I've always hated cleaning but since I've started to think of it as a way of improving the energy in my environment I feel quite differently!

Tomorrow I'm also going to cut some rosemary and lavender from the garden and hang it to dry. No ideas for it yet but once dried I will put it in some jars until I know.

All very early exploration but I already feel the benefits...

wheresmymojo · 04/09/2020 21:02

Oh and I have a tarot deck coming so I can start to draw one card a day.

So basically lots of exploration going on here like a child in a sweet shop BlushGrin

wheresmymojo · 04/09/2020 21:10

...I forgot the most exciting bit. I'm also booked on a full weekend of learning animal communication at Samhain / Halloween.

I'd booked this just a day or two before I found this thread and looking forward to it immensely.

rivierliedje · 04/09/2020 21:51

One miniature pond made: old washing up bowl dug in to the flower bed, gravel on the bottom, a small reed plant, an oxygenating underwater plant, a log for animals to get in and out and some bigger rocks. I hope it settles in and becomes a tiny refuge and watering spot.

buggeroffvirus · 05/09/2020 07:16

Good morning,
Just a quick update on my master plan.
I rang the RSPCA about the Tarot readings for donations and spoke to a lovely lady. I explained that the donations would not amount to a great deal but she thought it was a good idea.
I asked for a small donation box to be sent so that people can pay whatever they want privately. However. one will only be sent when she is able to go into the office as she is working from home at the moment because of Covid.
Isn't it nice when everyone comes together. Even if I manage to raise only a few pounds it's better than me just sitting about thinking about it, and even if I am not the best card reader in the world someone may want a cup of tea and a biscuit in a quiet cosy kitchen.
I hope you are all well.

buggeroffvirus · 05/09/2020 07:38

I forgot to mention that I will sanitise everything so that we are as safe as possible.

RainbowParadise · 05/09/2020 09:34

Hello everyone, may I rejoin?

I used to post sporadically under a different username (InTheTempest), I found the thread around two years ago just after separating from my husband, and it brought me so much comfort. I often lurk and catch up with the thread, truly my favourite part of mumsnet!

I haven't had the energy to post for a long time but I wanted to share something that's made me so happy. I posted earlier in the year about learning to drive and struggling with it, coping with nerves etc. My driving lessons went on hold because of lockdown (just a couple of weeks before my test was booked for!). I re-started lessons recently and took my test yesterday- and passed first time with only two minors! I'm over the moon and am so proud of myself, and not ashamed to say so! I worked so hard for this, at a really difficult time as well with lots of other things going on. Other than my DC this feels like my greatest achievement, and telling them that their mum can now drive was the best feeling! I had some lovely encouragement and advice from some of you before so just wanted to share really.

I also used a little bit of magic- in the way of positive thought and intention, visualising how it would feel to pass, and a four leaf clover that my DD found that I kept (alongside a tiny picture my son drew). It all gave me a boost and I think helped everything come together for me. DD is delighted with her clover as well- magic at its best to see the look on her face.

Anyway I wanted to share and hopefully join you all a little more often, I hope everyone else has a joyful weekend 🍀🌟

VioletCharlotte · 05/09/2020 09:47

Morning all, the thread's moving so quickly these days! A warm welcome to all new comers and welcome back RainbowParadise I remember you from your old user name and your posts about your driving lessons. Massive congratulations on passing your test, that's such great news! I love how you used a little magic to boost your confidence.

Buggerofvirus great news about the tarot, a lovely idea to use your skills to help raise a little money for charity, as well as helping others. I'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure from it.

I love that some of you are reading the old threads. Like Yashmis I now want to go back and read them all myself. I remember the Poundland hares and cant quite believe that was two years ago.

Queenrollo I understand about what you mean about being better at dealing with a storm than waiting for it, the 'what ifs' are the basis for a lot of anxiety and what holds us back. If it held, my little niece and nephew went back to school this week and are loving it, despite the new rules and are so happy to be back with their friends. I hope all goes well for your DS next week.

After a few days of hibernation, I'm feeling better today. The sun is shining and I got up early and went for a swim. Enjoying a quick coffee now before popping into town for a few bits. This afternoon I'm meeting a friend for a walk and a good catch up.

Blessings to you all for a relaxing weekend.

speakout · 05/09/2020 12:38

Oh wow- what an energy on this thread- so many new faces, old friends, lovely to see so many in this nurturing place. clairethewitch70 a warm welcome- your study course sounds very interesting!
whereesmymojo Starhawk is an amazing woman and author, The Spiral Dance was a great influence in my early 20s -, helping me form my own ideas about my craft and feminism. Sounds like you are on an exciting journey at the moment! buggeroffvirus great you had positive feedback from the RSCPC, a great way to practice your craft and raise money.
RainbowParadise of course we remember you- and the challenges surrounding your driving- I am delighted to hear you passed- I admire your warrior spirit- congratulations! And especially heartwarming to hear you used some magic dust to oil the wheels!
I hope those with little ones starting school again are managing their worry. In Scotland our schools have been back for 3 weeks, and is running pretty smoothly. Children seem to be pretty unaffected by the virus, so that’s a good thing.
I am having an easy calm day here. Working, but at a slow pace, easy jazz music, candles and incense.
Have a magical day everyone.

@speakout I haven't even considered YouTube channels! Thank you! I'll check them out.

Delphinium20 · 05/09/2020 22:17

@RainbowParadise Congratulations!!! And yes, a talisman is magical and I believe it captures your intentions and hold them steady and contained for you. We often have mindful intentions that seem to go "poof" in the moment we need them most which is why holding the talisman can reground you in the middle of the stressful moments.

I'm so happy you pushed through!!! What an accomplishment Daffodil

GinIsMySaviour · 06/09/2020 17:26

Hello everyone,

I’m just dropping in for a late PM cuppa and to rest by the fire Grin

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the less stormy weather.

queenrollo I hope you are feeling more settled and that the return to school brings the comfort of routine even though I know that nothing to do with school in the time of covid is stress free.

Hello to everyone new to the thread (or renewed to it) - I’m grateful to be part of such a rich and wonderful community.

wheresmymojo I’m intrigued by the idea of an animal communication course - I’d love to hear more about it. In 2007, my late and much missed cat went missing and out of desperation rather than hope, I contacted an animal communication practitioner who helped us to retrace her steps and we found her - a month after she went missing. She was my feline soul mate and I felt so lost without her ... I was blown away by the experience of contacting the animal communicator, he was clearly very genuine and knew things that only my cat would have known. He asked her to describe things in my house and garden to make sure that he was in touch with the right cat and when it came to my garden, she said it wasn’t as tidy as next door’s Shock Grin
(That was true).

She lived until she was 19 so I got an extra 11 years with her because of his help and I was so very grateful.

I’m going to have to run to get some food ready for DD ... I wish you all a peaceful evening.

Forgive me if I can’t post much next week as I’m going to have a lot of work on but I’ll be joining in the 8s.

Take care everyone xx

SulisMinerva · 06/09/2020 17:42

Hello, I’d like to join this friendly thread.

I follow a Druid path and have studied and used tarot for over 20 years. Very much earth-based and lover of trees, rocks and water in all its forms.

speakout · 06/09/2020 20:38

SulisMinerva
A warm welcome- you will find many like minded people here who love nature and an earth path- I am so glad you have joined us.
Grab a cushion, have some tea.
The nights are getting cooler here, so nearly time to cosy around the fire.
I have had an easy day, today, taking everything at a snails pace, although I did manage to clear out my linen cupboard, found a few things I had forgotten about and bagged up quite a bit to take to the charity shop. I also had some towels and blankets that not good enough to donate to a charity shop- little threadbare and raggy, but I know my local animal rescue centre can use these things, old clean towels are perfect for cats giving birth and blankets will always keep animals warm.
I have also cut up some thin towels to turn into face cleaning pads- a little sewing project is good to do and forces me to sit down for a while!
So nothing was thrown away- most of it came from charity shops anyway when I bought them- so onto their third incarnations!! I buy very few new clothes or fabric items- almost all of my clothes are second hand.
A hot wash and some laundry magic makes them new again!!
Just having some peppermint tea and an early night.

This time of year is good for a clear out. I’m going to tackle my wardrobe and get rid of some clothes I don’t wear anymore and anything which is past its best.

It’s a gorgeous misty morning here and I’m looking forward to a walk in it. I’d like to get a few rowan berries to make a bracelet from.

VioletCharlotte · 07/09/2020 10:42

It's a chilly but sunny morning here today. I've wrapped myself in a lovely soft grey blanket to stay snug while I work. I find it difficult to know what to wear this time of year. The start and end of the day is cold, but quite warm in between. I fine myself constantly adding and removing layers.

I woke with a bit of a dull headache so I'm using essentials oils to try and ease it, I've made a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender to diffuse, it certainly smells good!

Speakout I love your idea of donating old towels to the animal rescue. I use mine for my dog, he tends to get very wet and muddy on walks, so I have a big pile of towels in the shed to dry him with. I love your idea of making face cleaning pads. I use washable pads, but I bought mine. Great idea to sew your own.

Sullisminerva welcome SmileLovely to have you with us. Our witches kitchen is filling up! I agree that this is a good time of year for a clear out, I've been doing quite a bit myself. I need to tackle my wardrobe at some point!

RainbowParadise · 07/09/2020 15:21

Thank you for all the kind words, I've been on a natural high all weekend after passing my test- I now just need to brave driving without my instructor! And get used to my own car too.

Ginismysaviour that's a lovely story about your cat, how wonderful that you got all those precious years with her.

I'm also enjoying the season changing to Autumn- I really wasn't looking forward to this as I usually would, as it felt like summer was the only thing that made the pandemic a little more bearable! I always love autumn though and I'm actually feeling the same as ever. Halloween/Samhain will not be the same as usual this year; I love going trick or treating with the DC and it's a shame not be doing this. But we'll do something at home I'm sure.

I hope your head is feeling better VioletCharlotte, and that everyone is having a good start to the week ✨

wheresmymojo · 08/09/2020 00:10

Gin I love your story about your cat!

I came across animal communication via a documentary about a woman called Anne Breytenbach.

I saw it years ago. I was blown away by the documentary but also cynical (this is long before any spiritual awakening on my side). Something kept nagging away at me though...I tend to kiss my cats on the top of their head and they like it (and seem to understand that it's how we show affection) except for one which really seemed to dislike it and move away. One day I decided to try and communicate with her.

I felt a bit foolish but basically said "I won't make you if you don't want to but I just want to explain why I kiss you - it's our human way of saying we love you. If you still don't want to that's fine, I just wanted you to know what it's about".

Since that day she's been fine with me kissing her.

Anyway...a silly little thing but it stuck with me.

I had another experience last Sept which I won't go into as my post is already massive.

Anyway since then (this was years ago) every so often something to do with Anna Breytenbach pops up (and not just online) so I finally decided to follow what the universe seemed to be telling me and give it a go.

wheresmymojo · 08/09/2020 00:12

This is the original documentary I watched years ago...

And this is who I'm doing the course with (I found her as Anna Breytenbach recommends her on her website)

wheresmymojo · 08/09/2020 00:16

PS...

I am now up to end of October / Samhain 2018 on previous threads. Some lovely pumpkin displays!

speakout I will definitely take a look at those YouTube channels.

I've been watching a lot of Tylluan Penry's videos the past 2 days, such a lovely feeling from them with her lilting accent, the snoring dogs and the cosy kitchen!
