Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Thank you @speakout, those look perfect

MedusasBadHairDay · 14/12/2020 14:00

I always find the last week before the winter solstice makes me feel a little down and lethargic, then once the solstice happens I get a little boost. Just that hope of longer days makes all the difference, hoping it's a clear enough night to see Jupiter and Saturn. Should be a magical evening, then on top of that a local charity is driving a sleigh round the town that night, and it usually goes right past our house (the kids are still convinced it's really Santa).

speakout · 15/12/2020 09:39

I hope everyone is feeling energised by the new moon today.
I slept too long this morning, but this is the start of my winter break- no work today. Xmas Smile
Just wating for my mechanic to pick up my car as my sunroof has spring a leak, and I have several ponds in the floor of my car.
May have a trip to Costco later if the queues are not too long.

Then a slow pottering day catching up on long overdue tidying jobs.

Have a magical one sisters!

Speakout I'm feeling a little more energetic than yesterday. Like Medusa I always feel exhausted in the run up to the solstice too. I'm holding on to the hope we'll see a shift after the 21st.

Love to you all for a magical day ⭐️💫

MedusasBadHairDay · 15/12/2020 13:49

Struggling here today, finding it hard not to think about how much I miss my family. Stuck some chants on though, and that seems to help a little.

Roll on the solstice!

speakout · 15/12/2020 15:04

MedusasBadHairDay
It's so hard isn't, people are struggling for so any different reasons right now.
I am trying to carve out some calm.
A busy morning shopping, than had to so some sealing jobs in the toilet and kitchen with my calking gun.
I answered the door to a delivery man with my weapon in my hand- he looked a little alarmed!
I bought some lovely old fashioned christmas crackers in muted colours from Dunelm Mill, all plastic free, and a christmas candle for me.
Just having some cinnamon tea while I give myself a manicure.

moregarlic · 15/12/2020 17:12

@BlankTimes thanks for the link about the solstice, it sounds like a pivotal moment! Does anyone have any plans of how to celebrate? I've got a lovely yoga nidra I'm going to do, but not sure what else.

@speakout sorry to hear about your car - what a faff. Nevertheless, your day sounds like absolute bliss. Cinnamon tea is one of my faves. Twinnings used to do a spiced apple and cinnamon, delicious. Enjoy your time away from work, I imagine some downtime is much needed after the weight of this year.

@MedusasBadHairDay I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough day, if it's any consolation you're not alone.

I keep having very odd dreams. I'm not one to decipher them (it seems an impossible feat to me), but it's like they're trying to get my attention as they're becoming more vivid and, in some cases, quite alarming. Last night I dreamt I was forced to eat horse meat and a whole goose, which as a vegetarian was pretty grim! And I constantly dream of missing transport...buses, planes, trains...I'm always late and stressed out.

I'm going to take tonight slowly. Epsom salt bath. Simple dinner. Light a candle. Finish a documentary I started the other day. Early night.

Have a lovely evening all x

VioletCharlotte · 15/12/2020 20:05

Speakout I hope the problem with your car is something that can be fixed easily without incurring too much expense - the last thing you want at this time of year. I love your ideas for carving out some calm and you've inspired me to do the same.

Medusa so sorry your struggling, I really feel for everyone who is unable to see family. Mine are local so i'm fortunate as I've been able to see them outside for walks, but I'm really missing friends.

Moregarlic I get the feeling you've been very busy recently. I have those types of dreams (including the meat one!) when I'm really stressed and trying to too much. It's the fear of dropping a ball expressing itself through dreams.

I'm hoping to go to a special winter solstice ceremony, my yoga teacher says it's allowed to go ahead so long as we follow the rules for exercise classes, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up, this being the year of cancelled plans!

Your evening sounds lovely. I hope you have a restful sleep and gentle dreams.
VioletCharlotte Your solstice ceremony sounds lovely. My Friday yoga class will be the last for a while as my area has just been moved up a level meaning no more classes.
I am having an early night too.
It has been a constructive day, but I am feeling a little sleepy already.
I may just snuggle down in the warmth and have an extra long sleep tonight.

Good evening everyone,
Does anyone have a clear sky - now?

This is the best easy to use website for night sky viewing that I've found so far!

Geminid MeteorShower in progress, type in your location and it shows you where to look.

VioletCharlotte · 15/12/2020 21:26

Blanktimes your post made me get out of bed to check the sky! Unfortunately it's cloudy here.

Like Speakout I'm snuggling down for a long sleep 😴

Aerwyna · 15/12/2020 21:33

Just been out to check the sky too!
Light cloud here so I’m keeping watch 💫

VioletCharlotte · 16/12/2020 09:07

Morning sisters. Just wanted to share this beautiful image I came across this morning of Moraine Lake, Banff National Park in Canada - so magical!

I've been finding it challenging to shake off the negativity this week, so I've decided to create a vision board for places I want to visit one day. I find myself drawn to cold places and breathtaking scenery...Canada, Iceland, Norway, Denmark... one day Smile

Any Witches Here? Part 12.
MedusasBadHairDay · 16/12/2020 09:09

That is beautiful! The colours are so vivid and crisp. I love photos of places like that.

Aerwyna · 16/12/2020 09:23

Absolutely beautiful Violet! Thank you for sharing that with us. I’m wondering what the water temperature is there Grin

Love and solidarity to all as we move through these strange times. Together we are strong

speakout · 16/12/2020 09:54

VioletCharlotte beyond beautiful, thank you for sharing that. Such a scene.
You asked the water temperature Aerwyna I can imagine you are tempted to take a plunge!! You wild woman!

Yes we are strong together, dipping into this thread reminds me of that.
This common ground can sustain us, our web of energy and strength is a solid thing to come back to.
These may be just words on a screen with faceless individuals not even using our real names.
But behind each of us is a real beating heart, a strong spirit, wise views on life, doing out best to live life as best we can.
And together on this group we can empower and support- collectively we know all of life. Sorrow, pain and joy.
We understand.

And I celebrate that.

I know some of you follow Jonna Jinton, she has released a new youtube video of ice sounds. Continuing with the cold and frozen theme.
Shelives in Sweden near a lake and records the sound of ice forming as the lake freezes over. As large sheets of ice form they move, crack and jostle giving out haunting noises - or ice music. A long video, but maybe good for meditation, sleep etc.
Very beautiful.

VioletCharlotte · 16/12/2020 10:09

Aerwyna your post sparked my curiosity enough to do a Google search. Average lake temperature in December is -12... too cold even for a wild woman like you!

My friend who lives near the coast in Cornwall took up sea swimming back in the spring and is still going for a dip every morning. She says it's highly addictive. I think I'll stick to my warm indoor pool!

Speakout beautiful words, you made me a bit tearful. This thread, and all the amazing women on here, are so important to me. I'd like by thank each one of you for the energy you bring 🙏

Thank you so much for the video. I'll save it to watch tonight before bed.

Aerwyna · 16/12/2020 11:43

-12 is definitely too cold! 🥶 wishful thinking on my part. I’m not as brave as your friend Violet although I can see the addictive quality of wild water. Instant rejuvenation!

Your wise words touched my heart too speakout. 🙏 thank you also for the video, I’m looking forward to spending some time enjoying it later, it sounds magical.

speakout · 16/12/2020 11:48

VioletCharlotte
I love the idea of wild water swimming too, but I don't tolerate cold too well. I am full of admiration to those that do it!
Just settling down with a brew of tea, Morrisons sell a lovely Winter Spice tea from "The Best " range, with orange, rosehip, cinnamon, clove, hibiscus. Very warming- and inexpensive.
All the teas in this range are really good.

moregarlic · 16/12/2020 12:29

@VioletCharlotte that’s interesting you have the same dream about meat! I feel unreasonable for saying I’m busy (thanks, patriarchy) but I think I am. So much of it unpaid, unseen labour, but it’s labour nonetheless. I became a mother this year, am navigating a part time return to self employed work, stressed about the health of several family members and am dealing with back pain which has been going on for 1.5 years. I keep forgetting things which is so unlike me. I don’t know what I could change though. Very envious of your yoga solstice ceremony, that sounds incredible. And what beautiful imagery! Love the idea of vision boarding to get out of a funk too.

@speakout beautiful words as always. Also I could just go for a cup of that tea.

Anyone here any good with tarot? I’ve just started playing around. I’ve had a rubbish back forever but pregnancy has really done a number on it. I’ve been to the physio and lately a chiropractor. I’m normally a pretty positive upbeat person, but after 1.5 years of some degree of pain most days, I’m feeling pretty fed up. The chiropractor also pointed out I am hypermobile, so I’m going to have to be extra careful which was a bit depressing to learn.

Anyway, I meditated on this issue and then pulled The Princess of Swords. The internet is offering wildly different interpretation! Any ideas?

VioletCharlotte · 16/12/2020 13:17

Moregarlic can you post a pic of the card? Happy to have a go at interpreting it 😊

BlankTimes · 16/12/2020 14:54

Violet bless you for getting out of bed, that's the sort of thing I do, I always want to see whatever's going on. Most of the time it's cloudy here too, but occasionally, it's worth it Halloween Grin
I used to wake my DD to watch Lunar eclipses when she was little and in winter I showed her the constellations she could recognise. I often think we forget how much is going on above us. Just as we can't see what's going on beneath the earth, similarly we can't see what happens above the clouds, but in both instances life is created.

Speakout what wonderful words, thank-you so much, you Wise Woman, collectively we do Understand.

Teas, this year DD and I decided we'd treat ourselves to a selection of teas, Pukka were on offer online so I ordered a lot. The packets are so attractive alongside some Fortnums tins, I stacked them on the kitchen worksurface.

Aerwyna I also felt your desire to leap into those azure waters in Violet's amazing image. And there was I wondering what the scene would look like from standing on the shore with the addition of the Northern Lights.

Moregarlic I can't help with your card, but for hypermobile joints, Pilates is recommended over Yoga because it doesn't stretch the joints.
The thing with DD's hypermobility is she cannot feel that she's over-extending her joints, so she over-uses them because it feels normal to her. You may be doing the same which then causes the pain.
Were you not given a support belt when you were pregnant?
DD's NHS physio prescribed "Medi" make of supports for her. You can buy them yourself, but in your situation I'd also want a professional to advise which type of back brace could help and have it fitted by them. www.mediuk.co.uk/products/orthopaedics/spine/

speakout · 16/12/2020 18:22

moregarlic which Tarot deck are you using?
The Princess card is more often a Page card- which I see as pretty androgynous anyway. I think the Thoth deck has princess cards, and maybe some angel decks.

Blanktimes I love your tea collection, the pukka boxes are so pretty aren't they.
I bought he pukka advent calender for someone, but loved it so much I kept if for myself! Ended up buying my friend a chocolate calender instead!

I saw those Speakout and if I hadn't already bought the selection, I'd have treated us. It's so nice to have something different every day and to basically drink it mindfully. My DD is allergic to so many foods it's been a joy finding so many she can try. They were having supply issues with one of the ingredients in 'Peace' a while ago and it was only available on waitlist. I found it was lovely to have when the day's frustrations were accelerating, I really missed it, but now we're stocked up again so equilibrium, or whatever passes for the closest approximation of it these days has been restored.

Our last item ordered specifically for Christmas arrived today. It's a 4 ft tall White Rose tree with warm white LED's not the ice white migraine-for-me ones. I didn't expect it to look half as nice as it actually does, so it's a very pleasant surprise. www.therange.co.uk/lighting/led-lighting/novelty-led-lighting/tall-led-rose-tree/#933552
DD's health challenges are very challenging currently and she's thinking of having this in the window as THE tree this year, just as it is. It'll be fine as long as the felines leave it alone, the roses are thin foam so are easily shredded. Normally I'd just put some peppermint oil nearby to dissuade them, but this windowsill is one of their favourite places to chill. Halloween Smile
