What a lovely post, speakout 🥰

BrightYellowDaffodil · 15/11/2020 22:10

Another recommendation for Bowen therapy, I’ve used it for myself and my horses with really good results. It was the only thing that treated the after effects of a car crash I was in. The horses love it!

I had a rather nice morning; I walked across the fields to pick some last sloes I saw while out riding a while back. There’s a headland bordered by the river so I ducked under the fence to get to the blackthorns - they were beautiful, laden with berries but also twisted and covered in lichen so I think they were quite old. I walked a bit further and over a ditch and it felt like I’d crossed a rubicon - there was a wonderful pocket of woodland, where no-one ever goes, full of mosses, fungi, fallen tree trunks quietly mouldering away, carpets of leaves and pocked with fox earths. I felt like humans didn’t belong there, and only being permitted to visit, but in a nice way. I think it will be a nice place to visit occasionally.

sweetkitty · 15/11/2020 22:55

Lovely posts, love hearing about lovely rambling walks. Can’t wait to get back out again with the dog both she and I have been in the wars recently.

I’m definitely going to look at some sort of therapy, my body feels so toxic and in need of healing. I’ve been looking at self-injecting vitamin B12 as I believe I’m deficient. Must start daily yoga and meditation again too.

purplefig · 16/11/2020 06:37

@speakoutthe food was divine! And so simple. I love the magic of cooking. Ive started getting a weekly veg delivery from our local farm and it’s encouraging me to be more adventurous. Your work sounds amazing - are we allowed to see a link to your online shop? Also, the walk around your area sounds fascinating - sounds like a lovely place to live.

@Aerwyna thank you so much for sharing that poem. I passed it on to someone who needed it, and I have just heard they have done the same 🙏🏻✨

@VioletCharlotte love the idea of saving links to read on a quieter day, I’m terrible for going down rabbit holes. Was anything or any particular interest?

@sweetkitty sorry to hear you’re in pain. I empathise; I’m dealing with chronic back pain (which was intensified by pregnancy), it’s difficult to know what to do. Private treatment is expensive and so far hasn’t helped. GP has not been of much use. I’ll look into Bowen therapy.

It’s been a turbulent weekend friends. I had some news that a dear relative has been hospitalised, they are ok thankfully but it’s really shook me. I just want to go and visit and hug and be with her, but of course, that’s not allowed. It just feels incredibly cruel. This weekend I have allowed myself to grieve everything that’s been lost this year. Normally I discount such acts as wallowing, but I’ve realised as of late ups important it is to feel ones feelings. It’s been such a heavy year; I hope 2021 is lighter.

Elasticatedwaist · 16/11/2020 07:45

Good morning sisters . It’s a very windy one here today . My morning walk certainly blew away the cobwebs !
I too am trying to focus on all I have to be thankful for as I’ve been feeling poorly and feeling myself drifting toward negativity so I’m going to do some writing and count my blessings . I have a blood test on Wednesday which may bring some answers but I am a little anxious about my health at the moment and finding the lockdown difficult as I’m sure everyone is .
I’ve lit the fire and laid out cushions for us all . The tea is ready , the steam rising from the pot and I intend to light my candle at 8am .
@sweetkitty I hope your pain eases , I will send healing .
@calamityjam welcome 🙂
@speakout thanks for sharing your area sounds intriguing !
@purplefig I hope your relative is ok and home soon .
Hope you all have a calm and successful day . Remember , you cannot do any better than your best !

VioletCharlotte · 16/11/2020 10:09

Good morning sisters. I'm feeling a little delicate this morning after some vivid and powerful dreams last night (anyone else feeling this Scorpio new moon energy?!) I'm working and have a busy day ahead, but working from home means I'm able to wrap myself in a warm blanket and surround myself with candles and essential oils. Feeling very grateful for not having to do a long commute down the motorway!

Purplefig your kitchen witching sounds fabulous. I've been going quite a bit myself this weekend. You asked what I'm reading - I'm exploring Ayurveda practises at the moment, finding new self care rituals to incorporate into my daily routine and eating according to my Dosha (mind/body type). I keep falling down Pinterest rabbit holes!

I'm also reading Kirsty Gallagher's book Lunar Living, which I'm really enjoying and would recommend to anyone who wants to understand now about working with the moon cycles.

SweetKitty have a read about Ayurveda, you may well find that a few tweaks to your diet could make a real difference. I'm also using a herb called Triphala which gently cleanses your body and helps eliminate toxins. I've been using it just over a week and already my skin looks so much better and the bloating and digestive issues I was suffering from have all gone away. Have you tried B12 patches? I find these really effective.

VioletCharlotte · 16/11/2020 10:11

I came across this post about Scorpio new moon energy and wanted to share it, so much of this resonates with how I'm feeling 🌙

Today
“Super New Moon in Scorpio
The Most Healing + Transformational Moon of 2020,
Your Ultimate Re-birth,
The Ancestors Are Speaking…
Are You listening?

This New Moon will be one of the most powerful and healing new moons of the year! I would say we have earned it, lol! Get ready for an awakening of raw purpose and to face your darkness like never before!

The New Moon in Scorpio is here to offer new levels of understanding around our pain and trauma. Scorpio rules the 8th house of: deep dark secrets, trauma but also healing and rebirth. No other sign can conjure up the most brutal and triggered aspects of our personality quite like the Scorpio. The lesson with this new moon is to not run and hide from such transformations but to face it head on and surrender to the experience. As I have said before in many articles, Scorpio is so strong and vital because these folks “die a few deaths” every single day. Their power and the gift with this new moon is after these “deaths” they come back stronger and ready to fly! No other sign can pick itself up after an apocalypse and come back even more powerful and determined.

The Super New Moon in Scorpio wants you to face every demon within and still hold grace and compassion for yourself. There is nothing more potent and healing than to face one’s darkness with such reverence and acceptance.

True healing comes from integration + surrender to both the light and the darkness. We are all facing many battles, especially right now, given what is happening in the world. This New Moon in the deepest zodiac sign wants you to find your inner warrior god/goddess and rise up like the phoenix ascending from the ashes. This my loves isn’t the end but merely another rebirth and beginning along your journey. This New Moon wants to be a catalyst for your ultimate…”

I am strengthening my connections and centredness with pranayama.
Woodland walks and running.
Reading.
This is my medicine.

speakout · 17/11/2020 07:37

Good morning sisters- it is very stormy outside, the wind and rain battering against the windows here.
VioletCharlotte thanks for that- and comes at a time for me when I need to visit my shadowlands and take stock.
I have been feeling fragmented and leaky this past while, and I am aware need to spend time close to the core and deal with ongoing issues that I have been trying to ignore.
My bad sleep, bad dreams and rising anxiety all tell me the same message.
My yoga practice has become less regular- too, so this new moon in Scorpio is a time for me to visit my underside, take some time to fix my moorings and remind myself of focus as a tool.

With that I am about to do a short gentle yoga practice to start my day, light my 8am candle and hunker down until the storm passes.

Have a magical day friends.

Delphinium20 · 18/11/2020 03:34

@VioletCharlotte I really needed that today! I missed out on some goals I'd pledged myself and was hoping to have the Oct. 31 full moon be my 'jumping off' point. I like this idea that the new moon in Scorpio can be the catalyst.

speakout · 18/11/2020 07:28

Good morning magical sisters. I have a beautiful sunrise here, but very stormy again, little golden clouds sprinting across the sky backlit by the golden dawn.
I hope everyone is feeling some benefit from the new moon. I plan a slow day, I hope everyone finds any space they need.

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 18/11/2020 09:04

What a beautiful description of the sunrise speakout, a natural meditation to start the day.

It’s wet and windy where I am, good to be inside for now and inviting to go and see the river later, I know her fast flow will bring a cleansing energy.

I’m walking a slow, steady pace today too, working on lightening the stories I tell myself about each task I undertake. I’ve noticed that if I approach each task without all the emotional attachment about what I’ve decided it represents then it flows better. Work in progress but that’s my intention! Reminding myself to use mindfulness techniques again.

purplefig I was delighted to hear that the poem I shared was passed on and then on again. I love the way thoughts and ideas make their way to where they are needed Halloween Smile

I know many of us continue to navigate various challenges and I’m wishing everyone some relief from whatever they may be facing.

My intention is to revel in the lighter moments and work on paying more attention to ease than struggle

HillsBesideTheSea · 18/11/2020 23:15

Challenges has been a good way to describe this week. I am in crisis survival mode. Almost dreading what tomorrow will bring.
VioletCharlotte This "This New Moon in the deepest zodiac sign wants you to find your inner warrior god/goddess and rise up like the phoenix ascending from the ashes." has been very much the case. or as the teen calls it 'don't get in mum's way mode'

Candle has been lit most days, and i have been using my vast collection of nature pictures (not only am i a hoarder of nature but it turns out, also a hoarder of nature pictures) to try to help bring some peace.

I wish calmer times for all of you. May you rest of week be gentle and calm.

speakout · 19/11/2020 11:54

HillsBesideTheSea

I am sorry things are challenging- I think many of us are in a similar position at the moment.
I am in a rest and recovery mode now, very much needed, and being as kind as I can to myself.
I hope you can find time to nurture yourself.

If anyone's into EFT, there's a lot of new protocols around at the moment.
I've not downloaded this yet so can't recommend any. Some are free, so you you could see how you get on.

Thanks for that, it's a technique I use sometimes for anxiety, good to have another resource.

Been doing a bit of christmas shopping ths morning, so good to have time off work. Shops were empty at 9am so quite pleasurable, but by 10am crowds had started, and queues outside shops.
Happily I had set myself only an hour and was heading home just as the business started.
Also bought myself a mandarin and ginger candle which smells divine.
DS's birthday today, so may go out for a meal later if he wants to, things are still a bit restricted here though, restaurants close at 6pm.

Have and enchanted day sisters!

Is there room here for another? Recently been rediscovering my faith, just re-read The Spiral Dance for the first time in almost 20 years. I didn't appreciate it back then, as a teenager, it spoke to me far more this time round. I've also started listening to chants during the day, I find it's helping stave off the seasonal depression that normally drags me down at this time of year.
We're going to move house next year, so I'm hoping that in the new place there'll be space to set up a small altar again.

speakout · 20/11/2020 12:43

MedusasBadHairDay always room for another- make yourself comfortable, there is a fresh brew and the fire is warm.
The Spiral Dance was one of my formative books too, read it in my early 20s, I still have that battered old tea stained copy!
Glad to hear your chants are nourishing you- hopefully you will find this group sustains you through the dark months too.

Thank you BlankTimes, EFT is a tool I keep meaning to tap into(!) but haven’t got round to yet- a timely reminder for me.

speakout your morning sounds very well planned to ensure it was pleasurable rather than stressful. Got
me thinking about how there’s often a choice in this way. We can gift ourselves more peace with a bit of forethought. Your candle sounds divine! Wishing you all magical celebrations for your DS’ birthday today.

MedusasBadHairDay welcome!
It feels pertinent that you have danced your own spiral dance back to Starhawk’s book just at the right time.
Funny you should mention it, I stumbled across this yesterday. I’ve never read it before

MedusasBadHairDay · 20/11/2020 23:15

Thank you for the welcome, and yes it does feel funny the way I've returned to the spiral dance. Feels like how you feel when you return where you grew up as an adult, everything is familiar but different. It's acquired layers of meaning.

speakout · 21/11/2020 06:08

MedusasBadHairDay
Yes- in fact you have inspired me to read it again. The book was quite an epiphany to me in my 20's especially the ideas about power within and immanence- also the ideas about the personal being political.
It really set the ground for a change of thinking for me- that would last decades.
She is a remarkable woman. She also appears in the youtube video Goddess Remembered- apologies to our veterans here- I know I have posted his link several times, but so worth watching and I know we have had a lot of new members recently.

A cold damp morning here, but I am feeling calm and energised.
I am enjoying my break from work, and can feel an ease within my bones and my body more relaxed.
Need to do some early food shopping, then a joiner coming to do a small job later, so need to be back in time.
May take a trip to my favourite charity shop later to see if there are any goodies. Always a good place to find quirky christmas decorations. Stuff in supermarkets leaves me cold. I re- use decorations and ornaments, but I like to add the odd item every year.
Far too early though- still autumn in my house, but I like to plan.
I hope everything has some enjoyable activity to nourish today.

speakout · 22/11/2020 07:50

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. A crisp morning here, I can see venus piercing the cobalt blue sky of sunrise.
I have an urge to visit the sea this morning, so I think I may go for an early visit to listen to her song.
I have miles of unspoilt coastline very near me, easy to spot seals and dolphins.
So much magic to the sea, and that one expanse of water that I touch is the same water that laps the shores of the South China Sea, of Caribbean sands, of frozen Antarctic ice.
All one ocean.
We may give the sea different names in different parts, but it is all a swirling mass of water, a molecule of water that touches my fingers may have been emptied from the Amazon river just a few months ago, provided moisture inside the egg of a penguin, or formed part of a snowflake in Norway last week.
Water is a cycle, and part of life, constantly renewing, moving, playing part in so many processes that make life possible, that change landscapes.
Strangely water is an anomaly to be liquid at room temperature at all.
It has a lighter molecular weight than nitrogen or methane, both are gases at ambient temperatures- by rights it should also be a gas!
Water being liquid at room temperature is what allows life to thrive on this planet, and the presence of a special force in water is why it exists in this state. And why we have clouds, why water in the atmosphere gather and clings to itself.

I remember in primary school asking the teacher if clouds have skin. I couldn't understand why the "steam" just didn't blow away, why it chose to huddle.
She laughed, but the truth is she didn't know, and maybe hadn't considered the question herself. It would be years later that I would find out the answer, and realise my question was a very valid one!
Apologies for the ramble, just some musings on water, how it connects, how life would not be possible without it.

I have been asked how I can be a witch with a science degree- some people have suggested that my scientific understanding must be at odds with a hocus pocus view of the world.
For me it's the opposite. I see magic and elegance at the macro and micro level, not in terms of being designed or created- that would lessen the majesty of it all for me- but just for existing, and being so complex, and so far reaching and intricate.
So I am just about to get ready – I hope magic touches you too today.

Any Witches Here? Part 12.
OP posts:
Aerwyna · 22/11/2020 08:22

What a wonderful post speakout
I didn’t know that about water- that it is an anomaly for it to be liquid at room temperature. I can see how more scientific knowledge actually reveals more magic rather than being at odds.
I hope your visit to the sea is magical. I always find being by the sea so soothing and come away calmer- never fails

MedusasBadHairDay · 22/11/2020 09:06

Speakout I feel the same, our world is so complex and full of hugely impressive feats, knowing there is a logical explanation behind them doesn't take away from the sense of wonder. For me it adds to it. What's more impressive to me than the idea a deity made everything, is to know that nature itself adapted over the course of millennia, and so created all these incredibly beautiful and complex processes.
