I love this time of year too. Autumn is my favourite season, I love the balance - the weather is still pleasantly warm, not as hot and sticky as the summer. The days are bright so we can get out and about, but I like the way they evenings draw in earlier and we can get cosy indoors.

It's been a funny week, I've enjoyed the break from work but have felt a bit up and down. Lots of strange energy around, fuelling anxiety and confusion. I've had to dip into my 'witches toolkit' a few times to keep myself grounded. I've had a good day out in the garden, tidying up and planting autumn pansies.

Speakout I hope your DD is ok, sorry to hear about her hamster. It's always sad to lose a pet. I hope you enjoyed your yoga class. I'm really loving being back at class, there's something about practising with a group that you can't get online.

Welcome to the weekend magical sisters.
I was up before dawn this morning, so have spent a couple of slow hours doing some morning pottering. Venus was the brightest light in the sky just before dawn, her beatific light piercing the dark sky.
Just about to take DD to the train station for work, she will be back later before haeding back to her flat tonight.
I have a day of work ahead interspersed with magical moments.

I hope everyone finds some uplifting moments today.

I love your occupying of the early morning speakout, a liminal time to weave your magic. Your description of Venus is beautiful.

I’m glad you’ve been able to do some grounding work Violet and agree about the strange energy you sense. I think sensitivity to the collective consciousness can be a double edged sword. I found getting out in the garden helpful too yesterday.

I’m planning on taking it easy today, the house to myself and pottering to be done. I have an ongoing battle with housemoths here so need to vacuum every nook and cranny again and my body is asking me to prepare some wholesome food. It’ll be a big pot of something simple that will do us a few meals I think.

I’m loving the wind combined with the autumn sunshine right now and am tapping into it for clearing and renewal.

Love to all for a magical day

YashmisCrone · 19/09/2020 10:02

I enjoyed this poem for it’s reminder of the value of being true to ourselves. Thought others might too:

“ I am not enlightened.
People who are, frighten me.

I have my ways, my means, my morals.
There are no true means
to know if they are right or wrong.

But they're mine.

At the end, or the beginning,
like everyone, or no one,
I will answer for these.

So I must go my own way.
Right or wrong. Null.
No matter the outcome
that I cannot control,

I go my way.

I am willing to pay or
to boon
as the case may be.

Because this life,
this body,
this fate
belongs to me.

And so also,
yours to you.

"Namaste."

I can live with the consequences of conscious and deliberate spiritual positions.

I can live with what I've done in my integrity,
even if I someday discover
I went wrong.

It's okay to be human.
I live by the North Star in my soul.

I won't be ashamed,
at the end.

I made this in a corner of the sitting roomSmile
I really like that poem YashmisCrone, especially the line about integrity. It's all we can do really isn't it, to try to live our lives with respect and integrity.

I was looking through the previous thread for something earlier. At the beginning we were hoping the lockdown would prompt people to continue some of the changes for the sake of the planet. Has it happened? It seems from reading Mumsnet that everyone just wants things to go back to how they were. What a chance we are missing to change our relationship with Mother Earth for the better.

YashmisCrone a beuatiful poem about authenticity. I have always loved poetry too.
KateF what a comforting arrangement, so pretty.
This is the start of the journey, we are sailing into the unknown. Many people have lost parts of their lives and connections with others, and of course want to be put back to how things were.
It is early days. We have a long time of change and examination to come.

An overcast day here, but an empty laundry basket.
Planning a quiet day, my favourite kind.
Off for a rose spa shower and some gentle yoga.

Have a wonderful day sisters.

Morning all, just catching up with the thread, it's lovely to see how fast it moves! Everyone is so generous with the things they share, recipes, beautiful photos and pictures, and fascinating links. At some point I'm going to read through from the first thread again. I'm enjoying a lazy start to the day, just laying in bed and looking at the trees outside my window. I love watching the changes throughout the year- I love watching the buds in spring and then watching the leaves turn in autumn as well. It feels very grounding somehow.

KateF I like your display, I should do the same. I remember the discussions on the previous thread about one positive thing about the pandemic being that the planet was having a chance to breathe and recover. I've been dismayed at how the opportunity to continue this has been ignored it seems by most world leaders, and the public in general. When borders were closed and international travel stopped, there should have been an aim to reduce this massively going forward but I can't see this happening. We know we are doing such damage to the earth yet we continue. It's not just about planes etc, and I know I should make more effort in my own life. I definitely want things back to normal (I won't use the phrase 'new normal' as it grates on me so badly), but normal in the sense of no masks, no distancing, crowds at football, Glastonbury festival etc. Hugging my friends. Day trips to places without booking. Queuing at the bar in the pub- i never thought that would be a good thing but it will be 😂 There are plenty of changes that I am happy to continue into the future and certainly don't want the damaging aspects of life before coronavirus back.

I started my new job working from home, and am still at home, I've only met my new colleagues through zoom! I am hugely missing the buzz of an office but one nice thing is that I will never be doing a 5 day week in the office ever again in the job. I'll be able to work from home two or three days, which benefits me massively, but also the environment, if we are all doing this.

I hope you all have a magical Sunday 🍂

Fantastic- and a great example of how things are already changing.
My OH works for an IT network company, the majority of his clients have now geared themselves up to having permanent home working solutions- it is likely that this will be a new norm post Covid.
I question the inclusivity of the 9-5 office based working model- it disenfranchises many people, especially women , it clogs up roads with traffic, and all that entails – I think that is a great example of how Covid will bring about permanent changes.
We have yet to see the full economic impact of this crisis- and I think most airlines will fall. Very unfortunate for the individuals involved, but probably necessary for the planet.
It will take 20 years for the tourist industry to recover, and in that time we will have time to have a huge re- evaluation about the health of this planet.
It may not seem as if much is changing, but I can hear distant thunder.

OP posts:
RainbowParadise · 20/09/2020 13:14

Speakout that's so true- I think the 9-5 5 day week is over for a lot of people and good riddance to it tbh! I wouldn't like to work from home full time, not in the type of work I do especially, but I don't want to go back to 5 days in an office. As you say, it's especially difficult for women, mothers in particular. Being a single parent it's going to make my life so much easier having that degree of flexibility. This is definitely one change that needs to happen and for a lot of people there's no reason for it not to, given we have the technology in place to allow it. It's going to be good for people's mental health (and we need anything positive right now), and for the environment too.

I mean this in the right way, but I hope you are right about travel- the damage frequent flying is doing to the planet is terrible and if it's not addressed we are leaving a terrible date for future generations. Of course I feel awful for people losing their jobs though, and the economic effects of this pandemic are making the last recession look easy in comparison. It's very scary; I hope society find a way of finding new opportunities for the people who have lost their jobs.

I do hope though that there can be positives long term for people and the planet- something good surely has to come from this!

KateF · 20/09/2020 19:26

The impact on the aviation and tourist industries will indeed be a big blow for some areas. I'm not far from Luton Airport and it is a big local employer. However, as you've said it's one of the changes that has to happen. I would like to see indications that the government is thinking long term about creating alternative employment in a green economy and encouraging small and medium sized businesses rather than giant multinationals.

Big day for me today. I went into town for the first time in several years (other than picking up or dropping of dds). It has been one of the sticking points in my recovery from severe anxiety and depression . I would just freeze and panic at the thought of it so continued to avoid it. There was a vegan market on and I really wanted to go so I asked dd1 if she fancied going and we did! I got some lovely soaps as a treat to myself and my goodness, the cakes were amazing!

I dropped dd1 at her friends and popped into the garden centre for some compost. There was a tray of sad looking reduced plants including a sage and a lavender which I have been wanting so I snapped them up plus two trays of marigolds for the grand sum of £4. They must have been waiting for me!

A good day all round. Have a good week everyone.

RainbowParadise · 20/09/2020 20:02

KateF that's great that you had a good day with your DD, going into town must have felt like another step in your recovery and I'm glad you had a positive day. Those little achievements can sometimes have the biggest impact in our confidence.

Just wanted to join in with the candle connection. I've posted a pic of her before but I love my moon goddess, she's worthy of another one 🌝

I also have some 'autumn equinox' space aroma from starchild burning, it smells divine.

Wishing you all a relaxing evening and a positive week ahead 🌟

YashmisCrone · 20/09/2020 20:12

She is so beautiful Rainbow! Thank you for sharing her energy with us 🙏

Kate I’m smiling at your huge achievement today- incredible. So glad you had a good time. Your warrior spirit has opened new doors for you today. Cause for celebration!

I have my favourite candle lit too with gratitude for powerful collective energy 💫

rivierliedje · 21/09/2020 10:56

Reading this thread often makes me feel very grounded. Last night I was feeling out of sorts, but this morning I have started some bread, done the bins and the cat litter. Clothes are out on the line, but not dry yet and i have been for a lovely walk in the morning sun.
Now I am sitting in the sun with the back door open, next to the rising bread with a cup of tea.
I'm off this week, but I have applied for a work -from-home job, just on the off chance. I quite like my work, but hate the commute. And I could do this new work freelance when and where it suits.

I do think that should become the norm. WIth good public transport/cycleways/paths for the days you do need to actually be in an office. There could be so many benefits: less travelling time meaning more time for being with family and less stress; less traffic on the roads, better air quality. Less office space needed, so more room for housing or green spaces. People could live further away, so less pressure on housing, with hopefully lower house prices and fewer dying villages. People could be out and about more in their town/village during the day and spend more time outdoors/contribute more to the local community, just by being there more.

It might be a bit too wishful thinking, but I would like it to come true

speakout · 21/09/2020 11:33

Rainbow I love that too!*

It might be a bit too wishful thinking, but I would like it to come true
I will be the future- I am convinced of it. There can be no other way forward.

Hello all, just stopping by quickly to say hi and wish everyone a magical equinox.

I love all the talk of a more sustainable pattern of work supporting family time, the community and the Earth. Fingers tightly crossed this will be a positive legacy of what has been a traumatic year for everyone.

With blessings and light to everyone x

SulisMinerva · 21/09/2020 16:31

I’m looking forward to the Equinox and the slow glide into darker days as we head closer to the Winter Solstice. These few months are my favourite time of the year.

Have no real celebration planned but will do my usual card reading for myself and set up a small seasonal display with my daughter. Haven’t decided which deck to use yet - something which feels in keeping with the season somehow. It will probably be my faithful Greenwood tarot.

VioletCharlotte · 21/09/2020 17:42

Rivierliedje good luck with the job application. I'm working from home and my company are looking to make it a permanent thing for a large chuck of people. I love it. I used to have an hour's commute and driving down the motorway everyday, getting in stuck in traffic, really used to take its toll, especially in the winter. Working from home means I get back two hours a day which I can use to go for walks or swimming, practice yoga, do my garden, cook healthy meals. I really enjoy being in my own surroundings, it's so much more comfortable than being in an open an office. I agree with Speakout that it's the future. The driver for employers is obviously cost savings, but the environmental impact will be huge.

I'm hoping to go to an Equinox celebration on Wednesday, with kundalini yoga, yoga nidra and a sound bath (fingers crossed it'll be able to go ahead!)

RainbowParadise · 21/09/2020 20:00

VioletCharlotte I hope you're able to continue working from home- two hours is such a huge amount of time! It's obvious what the benefits to society and to the environment will be, it really had to happen.

rivierliedje fingers crossed and sending positive energy for you hopefully getting the new job 🤞

I feel drained today, whilst I enjoy working from hone I'm really missing being around other people. I'm getting lethargic, probably slow witted 😂 and just generally grumpy. It's hard to sustain positivity all the time, especially in the circumstances. I might go for a walk- I'm probably in need of fresh air and nature around me.

Delphinium20 · 22/09/2020 00:22

Hello all! Happy Equinox. It's warm where I am and I enjoyed the breezes last evening. Love this time of year. @RainbowParadise hope you can find some energy in the changing equinox...work can drain me as well, so I understand. @VioletCharlotte celebrating with yoga sounds lovely. I miss my pre-COVID yoga classes.@rivierliedje good luck with the job.@SulisMinerva I need to take a look at that brand of Tarot. I haven't paid much attention to recent decks, but I did get my daughter a lovely Maiden Oracle for her birthday.

ButterflyWitch · 22/09/2020 08:03

Happy Equinox! I'm a lurker in these threads - hope you don't mind me popping in today! I wonder if any of you had any thoughts on the significance (if any) of being born on an Equinox?

SulisMinerva · 22/09/2020 08:07

Blessings of the Equinox to you all.

Delphinium the Greenwood tarot is sadly long out of print and goes for extortionate amounts on eBay. There was an updated version released called the Wildwood but it was a different artist. It just doesn’t speak to me in the same way as the original does.

Butterfly I don’t know much about astrology but I would assume it would depend on the rest of your birth chart.

FitzsFool · 22/09/2020 17:07

Autumn equinox blessings to you all.
A feeling and theme of 'balance' is at the forefront of my celebrations today, in tune with the balance between day and night at this time.
A feeling of establishing and cherishing stability and solid ground seems to be important at this time.
Perhaps even more so when the world seems so strange and anxious.
I'm embracing the strong nesting urge I get this time of year, making home a stable, lovely place for my family to be when the waters of life all around us are so choppy!

Such strong, feminine, Mother energy seems to drive this, it feels so empowering to embrace it.

Wishing all of you the energy you need to navigate these coming months.

BlankTimes · 22/09/2020 19:16

Hello and welcome to all of our new sisters and to all of the ones who have decide to return, it's wonderful to0 see you all.

Time seems to be literally flying, here I am thinking I'm posting fairly regularly and find the thread's no longer on my 'I'm On' list in the blink of an eye.

Equinox Blessings, may we all find our own equilibrium in these turbulent times, I think we'll need it to hang onto for a while until Life finds its new balance.

VioletCharlotte · 22/09/2020 20:10

Blessings to you all on the Autumn Equinox 🙏

Blanktimes I know exactly what you mean, the wheel of the year seems to be turning rather more quickly than usual!

I came across this poem earlier and thought some of you may like it.

“Cure yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon.
With the sound of the river and the waterfall.
With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds.
Heal yourself with mint, with neem and eucalyptus.
Sweeten yourself with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile.
Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon.
Put love in tea instead of sugar, and take it looking at the stars.
Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain.
Get strong with bare feet on the ground and with everything that is born from it.
Get smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with the eye of your forehead.
Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier.
Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember;
You are the medicine."

What a fantastic poem Violet, thank you for sharing it.
