Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Hello all and happy Sundays!

CCM I actually feel sorry for some of the people on the X Factor - they are set up to be laughed at and the whole thing's a bit unkind, really. I read Ben Elton's book "Chart Throb" and he's scathingly critical of shows like X Factor.

Hope you are okay, NSFN. Having spent a few nights in A&E with my 2 I can sympathise. TBH it sounds as if there's not much point seeking your xh's approval - you have just got to do whatever is best for you and your dc.

Hey, I have a biggish prayer request -on the way home from church today dh and I had the same thought at the same time (spooky!) and that it is that maybe it's time for me to give up work. The thing is, I bring home £200 a month after childcare - I won't even try to work out the hourly rate that works out as, it's depressingly tiny - and my working does mean that my life is very go-go-go, and since term started in Sept I've been feeling like I'm being pulled in too many directions.

So if I gave up work I could do my hospital chaplaincy visiting, give one morning to the church (they need someone to help with admin) and do all sorts of nice things like see friends and do gardening, and keep the house running without getting run ragged. My spiritual director saids to me last week "God has not destined us for burn-out" - how wise.

So please could you pray that it will become clear whether I should work, or not? Dh says that his gut reaction is that I should leave, and use my newly-freed-up time to help develop and discern my gifts. On the other hand the school where I work is very needy (in an area with lots of families with huge needs) and I'd feel I'd be letting the kids down a bit (although not working there would actually make it easier for me to co-lead the christian club, and maybe set up that prayer group I was thinking about a while ago).

Sorry for the ramble but it helps to be able to work through the ins and outs of it. What do you think? Any thoughts? I must say my gut reaction is "Wow! I can't believe dh is saying this! This is so exciting!!!" Dh has suggested that I hand in my notice now but stay until Christmas, to give the school time to find someone else (because it's in a difficult area, not that many people want to work there). I'd feel guilty about leaving, but...oooh I don't know!

NotAnOtter · 23/09/2007 20:09

thankyou all for thinking of me
wishing i was catholic and could go and confess although i know i am not the sinner in all this
mars your words made me cry

ZipadiSuzy · 23/09/2007 20:55

Oh Rosey - what a dilema, I think god is stearing you in a different direction, go with your heart, you have obviously thought thngs through, and with dh You have also set a goal to leave by christmas, I think that is very fair to school and they should be able to find somebody else by then. good luck.

Whilst at the Steam Trains this afternoon I met 2 managers from different Leisure Centres, I told them about my teaching course and they both offered me jobs, I was thrilled, especially as I have only just started this next level, but I have to wait till twins are at school! frustrating.

ZipadiSuzy · 23/09/2007 20:57

Marslady - 'SILENT LABOUR' prayers for your assignments inbetween births

CaptainCaveman · 23/09/2007 21:02

TOOT TOOT indeed Sooz . Somehow dh knew you were a mumsnetter - wonder how? Aren't they a shy pair our dh's! Kids don't take after their dads eh?

Well my old friend AF arrived this afternoon so no baby for me at the moment. I am a little disappointed but it obviously just isn't meant to be just now. Strange body giving me all those odd symptoms though....

Assignment update - am now on 2700 words so more than halfway there. Given up for the night now though as have spent a long time on it today and my brain needs a rest (and a glass of wine )

Enough about me, how are you all?

ZipadiSuzy · 23/09/2007 21:07

NAO - try not to worry about not being a catholoic to go to confession. Just pray, god will understand.

I'm a 'sitting on the fence christian' - suppose I sneak in and out of faith, being on this thread helps and guides you into prayer.

As for feeling a bit guilty for someone elses wrong, thats them not you.

Chin up and keep in touch with all the lovelies on this thread, they are really supportive and pray for anything big or small!

ZipadiSuzy · 23/09/2007 21:08

CC - not phantom then?

Yes I agree, especially my quiet man of many words dh!

ZipadiSuzy · 23/09/2007 21:12

Oh well I'll go to bed! (ah bliss)

I'm on the way to bed now, having tried once again to catch up with you all and your joys and sorrows.

Could you pray for our colds - dd2 has earache, other dcs are getting ove rit but dh had a listen tonight and he thinks it has gone in to my chest - I'm cvertainky coughing for scotland!

Night nigh tlovely ladies!

MaryBS · 24/09/2007 03:29

NotAnOtter - it isn't just Catholic priests who hear confessions, many Anglicans do as well. My own Vicar for instance. However, I don't believe its confession you want, because although you feel guilty, it really doesn't sound as if you have done anything wrong. Any minister of the church would offer you "a confidential ear" where you can talk without being judged. If you feel it would give you peace of mind, then seek a priest/Vicar out. (I used to be a Roman Catholic btw)

My essay's in, I made the deadline, despite everything. Praise the Lord!

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2007 04:02

Good for you Mary! Praise the Lord indeed. Can't stop thinking about mine, hence the wakefulness at 4am!

Grrr, I hate not being able to stay asleep because when I do go back to bed I wake up exhausted!! Not fair . It's a good job I can touch type as I'm sat here in the dark Praying my worries over to God - my essay, my house is a tip, I'm tired and stressed, I'm sad that I'm not pg, I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm sooo tired. I pray for God to grant me restfulness and sleep.
