Insight 1 - the celestine prophesy

Hi everyone

All are welcome to join us discussing The Celestine Prophesy by James Redfield

So the first insight is:

Coincidence - A Critical Mass

A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.

Some ideas/concepts to consider are:

How have coincidences affected your life? Any experiences?
How do you understand the insight - do you have any perceptions to share?

This might be enough to get us started... Anyone can post some exercises or inspirations etc and I will also post some more info later

I have posted this quote before but decided to show it again as we are embark on new conversations about the Celestine Prophesies:

Conversation is a meeting of minds with different memories and habits. When minds meet, they don't just exchange facts: they transform them, reshape them, draw different implications from them, engage in new trains of thought. Conversation doesn't just reshuffle the cards: it creates new cards.

ikwym woodstock. Sometimes it's like being in a fog. I find trying to get some quiet time alone helps me, or going for a nice walk when the air's lovely and crisp.

melsy · 25/09/2004 13:59

hi juni , hows you ??

woodstock · 25/09/2004 14:03

Good point melsy. You can't do it as some sort of downpayment on getting things in order so it is energy to deal with carefully.

JuniperDewdrop · 25/09/2004 14:03

I'm ok ty. Got problems but I won't go there. Let's just say I'm getting stronger by the minute

how's u?

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:05

Im ok , just dealing with day to day and got a new pile of spiritual books which is helping uplift me again. Im enjoying going back over the insights too.

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:06

JuniperDewdrop · 25/09/2004 14:08

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:12

I just need to say that today Ive been Overwhelmed by coincidnces & its actaully blowing me away, to the point were the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up. Is anyone else having this??

JuniperDewdrop · 25/09/2004 14:15

I've been praying for angels whether celestial or RL and one came today

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:17

wow Juni tell us more if you wnat to that is ???

JuniperDewdrop · 25/09/2004 14:22

it's all to do with this problem we're having and I've been praying for angels. I bumped into someone who we haven't seen for ages and she gave us some really useful info I'll say more by email when i get yours

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:24

ok , great , sounds just like what my deepak book has discussed. Everyday miracles !!

melsy · 25/09/2004 14:26

OK heres a flash I had today I believe coincidences/ snchronicity are the keys to spirituality. Its a very easy way to understand spirituality physically , you just have to become open to them. They seem to be the essnce and proof of life beyond matter and a view into 6th sense.

JuniperDewdrop · 25/09/2004 14:28

i'll have to read it

glitterfairy · 26/09/2004 12:00

Have just caught up with this thread and am praying for some headspace today as I feel in the fog at the moment.

Reading the CP has helped although having real trouble with some of it. Must say I looked at those sites Paps and the internet one loked great. I think I will have to get rid of my feeling turned off whenever God is mentioned though as I am not a believer and find the word gets in the way of me having an open mind.

It is so true about work and some of the coincidences that have brought me to my current job are giong through my mind now. We were talking of them the other day and using that insight to understand how right the present state is at work. It is the most creative inspiring and wonderful job and my only problem is sometimes to seperate the real me at work from the real me at home and to allow one to flow from the other if that makes sense.

WK you never waffle by the way and it is amazing reading your posts how insightful you have become!

melsy · 26/09/2004 17:47

I knw what you mean by the GOD word , I was apprehensive about mentioning neale donald walsh CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD books, whihc I read about 5 years ago, as any referance to religion gives me a block too.BUt they are more spiritual than relgious based. Had a good disuccison with juniper on mn lastnight about it though!!

melsy · 26/09/2004 17:49

2nd glitters comments about your "insightfulness" of late wobbly , amazing x.

gothicmama · 26/09/2004 17:49

all good stuff so far it is the accepting part which some find hard but coincidences all happen for a reasona and accepting them even if short term it is hard is worthwhile so long as you continue to do so uit all works out - problems or hardships happen when you start and then cease to act on the coincidences

glitterfairy · 26/09/2004 17:53

Have been using the fatasy part of myself more as well and thinking about why I am having those particular thoughts. It can be quite useful but can also be tied up with wish fulfilment as well.

melsy · 26/09/2004 17:54

do you find things hard when you dont take note of the coincidences gothic ?? Are you speaking from experiences , do tell more if you are able to ??

gothicmama · 26/09/2004 17:54

it is about recognising want over need

glitterfairy · 26/09/2004 17:55

Yes but sometimes that is really hard as both are compelling.

melsy · 26/09/2004 17:55

The fantasy parts sounds intriguing glitter, would like to hear more of that too. I find that wishing only makes you feel the wishing feeling more and not what you wish for IFYWIM !!

wobblyknicks · 26/09/2004 17:59

Thanks glitter and melsy - like lots of people I find it really hard to come up with ideas totally on my own but if I read something that grabs me or have a good convo about something, I find it really easy to carry on those ideas, even though I wouldn't have been able to start myself off. Thats why I love the chats I've been having about CP so far.

glitter - agree totally about anything religious being a complete turn off. Even just the word 'religion' leaves me totally cold whereas 'spirituality' makes me feel energised. For me it seems to be the way most religion is rules and 'you MUST think this, MUST do that' whereas most spirituality is 'what about thinking this, what about doing that' which seems infinitely better. Also most books/talks about religion seem concerned with telling you a 'fact' and leaving it there whereas a lot of books/talks about spirituality seem concerned with explaining things rather than telling you anything.

wobblyknicks · 26/09/2004 18:17

I know what you mean about wishing melsy - I think you have to try and do something about the wish afterwards, try and start to make it reality or accept the reason that it can't be real. I just wish I could do that better!!!
