Insight 1 - the celestine prophesy

Hi everyone

All are welcome to join us discussing The Celestine Prophesy by James Redfield

So the first insight is:

Coincidence - A Critical Mass

A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.

Some ideas/concepts to consider are:

How have coincidences affected your life? Any experiences?
How do you understand the insight - do you have any perceptions to share?

This might be enough to get us started... Anyone can post some exercises or inspirations etc and I will also post some more info later

I have posted this quote before but decided to show it again as we are embark on new conversations about the Celestine Prophesies:

Conversation is a meeting of minds with different memories and habits. When minds meet, they don't just exchange facts: they transform them, reshape them, draw different implications from them, engage in new trains of thought. Conversation doesn't just reshuffle the cards: it creates new cards.

OK fantaasy has always been for me a state of semi dream when my mind runs free and goes where it will then I see how things might be and how they might not. I did it alot as a teenager and sat for hours not asleep but just half awake thinking of scenarios and what ifs!

Sometimes I know it is wish thinking and sometimes it sets me free to try it out and let go of my inhibitions.

For example I see myself being successful in my work and try out different versions of success what will it mean for me how will others see me etc.

sibble · 27/09/2004 05:36

glitterfly i do the same and then concentrate on the scenario i like best believing that visualisation/positive thinking can make things happen but as part of 'be careful of what you wish for .....' i like to try out various options first. i think it sometimes clears the mind to set wheels in motion to make things happen and cope when they do.
does that make sense?

glitterfairy · 27/09/2004 07:53

Yes I change the scenario if I think I am being too indulgent! Also if it is wish fulfillment I know quite quickly! Sometimes though I examine the wish and wonder if it is achievable and that way can meet some of my wishes head on.

I think it is an internal way of sorting through the daily rubbish but also of planning ahead for eventualities and looking for meaning in everyday things.

Morning all,
hope you all had a good weekend.

Ikwym about fantasy/positive thought. It's a very healthy was to live IMO. It's been proven time again that thinking positively gears you towards success. It may not be exactly as planned but the opposite can be disastrous. If you let the inner fear beat you then it can spiral out of control. When I was having panic attacks I got so bad that walking to the local shop on my own was an achievement. The next step was going on a bus. These were all things I took for granted pre PAs. I'm fine now, stronger than before but at the time it's crippling. I know it may seem as if I'm going off on a tangent here but the mind is key.

As Melsy said we had a chat on msn the other night and agreed (I hope!) that the power which I call God/Jesus can be called anything by anyone and as long as it's for good then that's fine. I personally think it's wrong to dictate to someone that what they believe is wrong, especially when they're chosen belief is for good/love.

When everyone has finished the CP I think this discussion can become more in depth but hopefully we'll all try to understand one another's opinion.

Great post JP!

I agree that it is a positive way to live. I also agree with you and melsy about God I cannot prove or disprove the God thing so normally dont argue it just hate being told how to behave and what to do really. Typical maverick.

wobblyknicks · 27/09/2004 12:06

glitter - in some ways it seems like being a maverick not wanting to be told what to do but IMO its also sensible too because no-one is going to take the consequences of your actions for you so no-one should insist you do what they say unless they're going to deal with all of the flack for it. Thats my stand now if anyone tries to shove what they think down my throat - I'll do exactly what they say if they agree to live my life for me!!!

glitterfairy · 27/09/2004 13:28

You see you are becoming a guru these days wk! That is definately quotable. I'll do it if you live my life for me is going to become my motto

wobblyknicks · 27/09/2004 13:34

Awww shucks glitter!!

glitterfairy · 27/09/2004 15:16

Thats ok matey!

wobblyknicks · 27/09/2004 16:35

Thats not to say I don't appreciate advice though, I really do (as long as its vaguely sensible, which rules my parents out!). What gets me is the people who tell you what to do and get really offended if you don't do it, or wait round for things to go wrong so they can point out that 'they told you so' but they never accept that as they don't live your life then its not really their business in the end!!!

(rant over!! )

Juniper that was wonderful wot you wrote and I agree

You mentioned angels. I am reading a book atm which has quite abit about angels. I have never really before connected with that vibration, but I have been really feeling the angelic presence alot more recently.
