MarsLady · 24/01/2007 12:53

Another c&p from Sue: more prayer needed!

We had a call from the hospital last night re Dave's blood results.........its nothing to panic about BUT something to pray about!! The [now I really haven't a clue how to spell this word so for all you clever people out there take pity on a plank ok,its so bads I don't even know if it begins with a "c" or a "k" so I'll spell it phonetically!!!!]

The results from the kiz- or -isms [all one word] have come back and there is still to much of "Dave",the plan is to totally eliminate any of Dave's immune system and DNA and for Jane [his sister ]to be completely dominant............is this making sense??? if not email me back or phone and I'll give it another bash in trying to explain.
The point of this if you remember is that they feel that daves immune system was faulty and wasn't detecting the lymphoma as foreign therefore by "re booting "him with Jane's good immune system any nasties will be detected and nuked!!

They have reassured us that this is most certainly not uncommon and that they basically need to take some more of Jane's blood, cream off the Tcells and transfuse into Dave. The boys looked like they had been caught in head light when we told them and their first question was does dad need more chemo....bless their hearts it really got me that question cos you know its not that far from their minds, they really have been through the mill.It is nothing to do cancer wise, this is due to the transplant, and we had started off by telling them its nothing to worry about,I suppose they like me walk alittle on egg shells and chemo has been such apart of treatment. They have got their heads around it now and are cool....please remember them in your prayers won't you.To put a cherry on the cake DS2 got mugged on his way to school today,he wasn't hurt but it has obviously shaken him up....the lad who did it must be so proud,he got 15p and a few sweets,oh yeah DS2's house keys were in the bag he nicked so we are having to have all the locks changed ...wouldn't you just love to "lay" hands on the little swine, his 15p profit has cost us £150....BLESSED!!!

Anyway,we haven't had a date asto when the transfusion is happening,it will be next week sometime,I'll keep you posted....hey all is still very very well, its just a minor irritation.....we are still shouting out thanks and praise big time for the amazing things God has done..infact I had to get out of Sainsbury's really quickly the other day cos I had such a strong urge to shout out that Dave is healed,I don't know what came over me!!!! Actually when Dave was really really poorly I often was sobbing my way round Sainsbury's,don't ask me why,the place just did it to me so at least its nice mad moments now!!

CaptainCaveman · 24/01/2007 20:52

Mars praying for Dave and family, they deserve an easy run of things.

Weirdbird, glad to hear you have a referral for Hannah, sorry to hear you are poorly though. Wow, what a fab church you have! Glad also that you do get to enjoy Hannah, give her a big cuddle from her MN aunties

Just a quick update on my dsis - went to see her this evening and she's down from 2+ bottles of wine & spirits a day to 1 normal strength bottle, 1 lambrini bottle (about 5%) and 1/2 an alcohol free bottle! Wow, am so proud of her. Please keep praying for her and her dd, that she sticks to her reduction in drinking plan (supported by mental health team). Praise God for we ask and He provides.

Praise also for my magic healing foot! You guys must pray hard because it hardly hurts today. Thankyou fellowship group and Thank You God!!

Thank you for posting the update Marsy - Praying hard for Dave and Sue and thier boys - at their DS being mugged on his way to school - how horrid - praying for him as he recovers from the shock! Praying that this further treatment is completed quickly and gives the desired results - Like my Fellow Captain said - this family could really do with a break now! Protect them Lord and show them your love!

Fellow Captain - Fab stuff about your poor foot! Great stuff about your Dsis' alcohol reduction too - v.positive, continuing to pray for her and her DD.

Must go to bed - v.tired!!

roseylea · 25/01/2007 09:33

Hello all,

Just a v. quick one to let you know that I'm reading and praying for you all.

I've got to that cabin fever stage where I've been in the house too much over the last few weeks with being ill and I want to go out!!!

So I'm trying to think of where I can go...

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2007 11:57

Ooooh, Rosey - I'm heading over to Tesco for lunch - you could come with me?? (Very classy! )

Milliways · 25/01/2007 17:23

Hello

I haven't posted on these threads for ages (but have been lurking).

Would appreciate some support as I handed my notice in last week, leaving a company where I have worked for over 22 years!! I now have the opportunity to work for a small Christian company, medical, that actually makes a difference to peoples lives (not just make a profit from them). I am happy with my decision but it was a HUGE decision to make, and events have just slotted nicely into place. I wonder what it will be like though when I actually leave, and then being the "New Girl" who know nothing about the systems etc in a new office.

My DH is also considering a move, so it could be total upheaval at Milliways Manor

Thanks CD for your perseverance with these threads. I bet there are a lot like me that follow the stories with prayer without posting. You are an encouragement to many.

Hello Milliways! Great to "see" you again sweetie - I am sooo glad there are people like you who, even if they are not regular posters, pray for all the precious people / important situations on here .... you are an encouragment to many!! Oooooh, how exciting about the job situation - you must be feeling quite nervous honey - A very brave step you have made!! Do keep us posted about how it goes - the new job sounds fab!! (Praying for your DH too, lots to consider!!)

Awwww, Podmog, your body just doesn't seem to like "doing it" naturally, does it!!!? Sweetie - praying that you will go into nautral labour sooooooon - Have they given you a date for induction yet?? Praying for your sweet little DS - hoping his temp comes down soon and he feels better - Not quite what you need to be dealing with right now, eh!!? We're all thinking of you here .... Can't wait for your Birth Announcement!!

Just had 40 mins kip and now feeling worse & more tired than before. Bugger. Was hoping it would "pep me up" for DD's coming home and having Bible Study at our house tonight. Now I just want to hide under my duvet and go to sleep .... forever ......

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2007 17:43

Ooooh, praying about the exciting community living opportunity Podmog - Tell us more when you know more ......

potoroo · 25/01/2007 18:46

Hi,

Like Milliways I am a lurker who follows the prayer threads.

I was wondering if you could pray for my grandfather who died yesterday after a long illness. My family are all in Australia and I am in the UK, so I will miss the funeral and am feeling a bit sad.

He was a spiritual man, and I would appreciate any prayers, as would he.

Many thanks, and God bless you all.

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 18:49

a slightly less 'desperate' prayer request from me if you would be so kind - I'm going to broach the subject of Doula's with DH when he gets in from work tonight. When it looked like we were splitting up I decided DEFINITELY to have a Doula - and have one (a trainee who sounds lovely on the phone) coming to see me on Monday. I've not mentioned it to him at all, and I'm not sure what his reaction will be - I have a feeling he's going to think I don't think he's 'good' enough to be my birth partner - which isn't true at all - I just want that extra support with relaxation, breathing, position etc that only a woman such as a Doula can give as well as his wonderful emotional support.

Ta.

Jockey · 25/01/2007 19:18

Hi - it is the day of the lurker! Thank you so much for your prayers for my son in the past. He has selective mutism and has just started reception class - he was doing exceptionally well on the speaking front, but has been off sick for a week and is now extremely anxious about going back. I am dreading it! I would be really grateful for your prayers - I don't know if we will be going in tomorrow or on Monday.

Thank goodness for this thread. I will be reading through and praying for you all.

PandaG · 25/01/2007 19:34

Hi All

Flying visit

Am praying though!

see you in more detail soon!

buggybrolly · 25/01/2007 19:59

Hello

I have read all of your messages and hope you do not mind me joining in as I havnt posted a message on here before. I just wanted to say that I will pray for you all and how wonderful it is to see so much support for each other.

After moving to Northamptonshire from London about 18 months ago, I would really like to find a church to attend. My church in London was such a part of my life and I really miss it.

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 20:00

hi buggy - what part of Northamptonshire are you - I'm in Wellingborough

buggybrolly · 25/01/2007 20:01

Hi Fannyannie

I did notice that you were in Wellingborough when I read through the threads. I am very close to you, I am in Irthlingborough
x

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 20:02

oh - not far at all - even have the same telephone code LOL.

What type of church did you attend in London? I may be able to 'advise' on one that may suit you

buggybrolly · 25/01/2007 20:04

Hi FA

My church in London was a C of E church. I have attended a couple up here but am looking for the one that I feel I belong at, Maybe I am being a bit picky?

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 20:10

high, low, middle of the road??

Don't know many (any?) churches outside of Wellingborough itself - but I guess you're so close it wouldn't matter driving into town. Don't know which ones you've tried but off the top of my head for C of E you have

Very High - All Hallows (town centre)
High - St. Andrews (I think) and St. Mary's
Middle of the road (variety of services at all of these to suit all types) - St. Barnabas, St. Marks, All Saints
Low - Gleneagles (actually an offspring of All Hallows believe it or not!)

buggybrolly · 25/01/2007 20:12

Thank you so much for that info. It was a High Church that I attended in London but I think sometimes it doesnt necessarily mean that that is what you will fit into elsewhere as alot is to do with the community I think, but I really appreciate those and will definately make enquiries.

Thank you very much
x

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 20:14

yes - I'm tempted to open my mouth about the high and very high churches here in Wellingborough - but I'll keep my mouth shut

BTW - I'm the organist at one of the 'middle of the road' churches so would always be more than welcome to come and visit us

buggybrolly · 25/01/2007 20:16

Thank you so much, I might just take you up on that, which church do you attend and what time are the services.

Yes I understand your comments totally lol.

I really appreciate your assistance and should you require anything (I read your earlier posts) I would be most willing to help out in any way I can.

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 20:20

I'm at St. Barnabas Church - between Oxford Street and Westfield Rd, morning service is 10am - there's a Sunday school for the over 5(ishes) and creche in the church itself for littlies.

This Sunday will be slightly odd should you decide to visit - as not only is it a Baptism, it's going to be only half led by the vicar (up to the peace will be done by the Curate of Desborough who did her training at our church) - and it'll be her first service back since her Dad died last Wednesday .
