Ok, not doing this for profit, just in response to some MN'ers asking - so hopefully this isn't advertising.

But anyone who wants me to make a bracelet (or other jewellery) for them, can you post on here

OOOh love tigers eye and was born in the year of the tiger too and am a LEO as well. COuld mine be on silver please? Do you need a wrist measurment? this is so exciting!

wobblyknicks · 06/05/2004 22:15

Yep gf, silver's fine. Could do with a wrist measurement, give me the measurement of how long you'd like it to be, ie you work out whether you want it really tight or really loose etc.

lurking again! Will go on now master beety

wobblyknicks · 06/05/2004 22:31

You're not rude glitter - I'm feeling a lot better than I was now thanks!!

And it wasn't a cold, was flu (have to get as much sympathy as poss!) - or transylvanian flu my BIL says (as a man he has to make it sound as dire as possible)!!

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 07/05/2004 07:20

Transylvanian flu! Just imagining the difference between that and spanish flu. I can only think of the difference between paella and dracula. Somehow the image of dracula is pale desperate and flu like and paella isnt. Ok morning ramble and have just been writing a poen on the creative writing thread so obviously carried away. Anyway glad you are better.

melsy · 07/05/2004 09:14

Im finidng it really hard to decide on charms !!!

I like hearts but would like some other things, would be nice to be on silver with a clasp.

Any other idea on charms anyone?? Im normally good at this!!!

melsy · 07/05/2004 09:16

Actually are there any charms that are little furniture things ??!! Like a chair or a table ?? I know it sounds odd , but its what I do. Cacti shapes ?? eye glasses?? anythings japanese themed ?? baby shoe ?? teddy ? star of david??

OOh im on a roll now , were did that come from out of the blue??!!!

wobblyknicks · 07/05/2004 09:22

Lol glitter. He's even got a little scale of how bad his flu is (when he gets a cold). There's a cold, then there's flu, then indian flu, then siberian flu, then transylvanian flu is the worst. He's hilarious - one of these people who keeps themselves really healthy and fit but then hates having any kind of bug.

melsy - think I can probably find all of those things somewhere - glad you're getting inspiration!! Would you like one of two of those or all of them - so lots of charms?

OP posts:
melsy · 07/05/2004 09:36

ooh it is a lot isnt it !!! Its like a little story of me!! I think it will have to be 8 charms as that is my lucky number.
1 table -- my design work
2 chair -- my fave peice of furntiture
3 star of david-- my religion
4 baby shoe -- my dd
5 cacti -- south west connection
6 japanese something -- facinated by there dont know what symbol though??
7 teddy -- love them and so does dd
8 eye glasses -- cos I have to wear them

I will let u use your artisitc license as to wether this is too much. may be some of them can be tiny little ones and some bigger. I will let u use your intuition to work out which ones yes ???

Wow wobbly this is actually FANTASTIC, my very own life story on my wrist. A bit like wearing my heart on my sleeve !!That could be your marketing slogan.

" Would you like a little story of you ??" Wobblynicks can make a special treasured majic bracelet just for you and your journey.

wobblyknicks · 07/05/2004 09:44

Don't think I've got much intuition but will see what I can do! I wasn't actually thinkg I could do this as a full blown business thing but all this talk about it has got me really fired up now. My major problem is where to get everything from but that won't be too much of a problem, just takes time and once I build up a little stock of bits and pieces it will be a lot easier.

I love your slogans, if it all took off, I'd have to get my own MN marketing team!!

OP posts:
melsy · 07/05/2004 09:47

Im sure there may be some MN who can give you pointers in thr right direction , as you will want to get it wholesale. Im trying to do the same but with greetings cards.

All the years as Buyer will hopefully go to better use than filling fat cats pockets with another chauffer or bollinger party !!!

wobblyknicks · 07/05/2004 09:53

Yep, have found a few good wholesale places but there's such a huge range of bits to find!! How are your greetings cards going? I'd love to be able to do something I enjoy as a hobby for a living.

Lol @ bolly party!!

OP posts:
melsy · 07/05/2004 10:03

Your intution will come in handy when buying your bits. Just use the same technique you use to choose a crystal. Your excitement is what makes it ALL say buy me buy me !!!

My cards were an idea , I used to make EVERYONES cards years ago, spent hours doing it. Just though it would be good to do and sell them in my local gift shops. I just havent been able to start yet , as I need to find a good wholesaler!!!! see I can help others but not good at doing it myself. may be thats why I do consultancy !!!

wobblyknicks · 07/05/2004 10:08

Lol melsy - its always hard to find wholesalers IMO but at least once you've found what you need, you can stick with them and get on with what you're good at - the creative side.

Wobblyknicks when you are feeling up to it I would like a chakra bracklet as citrine is also on eof my birth sign stones. If that is alright with you it is a very genereous offer

taramac · 07/05/2004 11:16

Hope you don't mind me asking but where do you get your stuff from? I have recently started doing the same and have bought my beads etc from ebay and am making bracelets and earrings for friends for fun. Would just love to know where to get more unique stuff or get some tips from you. Thanks.

wobblyknicks · 07/05/2004 13:58

gm - that's fine, no probs.

taramac - I've found quite a few sites to get different bits and pieces from but one of my main problems is I haven't found one site that does a good huge range, they all just seem to have little bits so I'm going to have to get stuff from here there and everywhere. Ebay seem to do some good stuff but then obviously I can't rely on a steady supply of it. Have seen a lot of good stuff on American sites, but then obviously the shipping is the problem, and I'm jsut trying to get my head round the figures - how much I have to buy to make it worth it.

Is there anything you're particularly interested in - like big beads, or types of crystal etc? I'll happily email you the links I've got, email me at wobblyknicks at hotmail dot com (its probably quicker than me emailing you through contact a talker).

papillon · 10/05/2004 08:49

Well here I go and change my mind...

Liked the talk of chakras on the chakra thread and can really see how that would look - and quite fancy a bracelet like that!

I would like the stones to be flat and fit into each other as much as possible - still would like the stones to be of a good size (will have to measure my wrist)

wobblyknicks · 10/05/2004 09:00

You can change your mind as much as you like paps!!! Do you mean you want a bracelet of all the chakra stones? And how do you mean the stones fitting into each other? Sorry, just not sure what you mean.

OP posts:
papillon · 10/05/2004 11:52

I think I mean that I would like them to be of a similar shape so it almost looks like they are banded together abit.

I measured my wrist (in the most cock-eyed fashion ) I think it is 17 cm round-- does that sound right?

I would like my to fit closely to my wrist so elastic is probably best for me.

wobblyknicks · 11/05/2004 09:11

ok paps, I think I know what you mean. 17cm sounds about right. I'm still having a look around the net for stones but I'll see what I can do.

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 11/05/2004 09:18

Managed to measure mine and 20cm seems about right for me 21 would be quite loose and 20 adn a half perfect but am losing weight adn have already adjusted my watch strap so think 20 cm. Sorry it has taken so long. Good luck like lapis lazuli and rose quartz as well as tiger eye by the way but not sure how that would look with fairy charms and hearts??? Will leave it to your good taste wk and thank you
