Hello fellow humans

Back by popular demand here is the Yurt

Was told of the Yurt recently and thought it sounded a fine place to come and chill.

The philosophy being, that if you:

Need some time out from steaming threads.
Or to rebalance your stressed hormones

then the Yurt is here for YOU.

papillon · 05/06/2004 10:55

Glad to see you in the yurt Glitterfairy. I just found a picture of our tented home, currently we actually reside on the Isle of Muck (Gaelic word for Dolphin but I like the dolpin version>

...

Well you know us spiritual wotnots have been chewing the fat for a wee while now... all started Wednesday, 24 March, 2004 9:11:10 AM to be exact. And after many threads we were given a board.
Several of us were quite naturally anxious that the word religion was included, but spirituality is also a broad term which encompasses religious feeling or not. It is just that I would really love it if peace and fun were the primary motivating factors here, as religious arguments are easily sparked.
Arguements or rather debates if course will occur I am sure, its just that I intuite that giving each other little corners of space to commune within is at least a token of respect and an acknowledgement that we are sharing the same board whilst holding differing opinions, philosophies and beliefs.

Anyhoo is that all cool with ya all or do I need a smack too

No probs paps although they think I am muggle as well now and of course you know I am not! Hey what do I care? None of us are naughty just a little sensitive at times and sometimes our beliefs are precious and as I said smacking a child for a religious belief is imo tantamount to child abuse and they should be reported to social services. However am now chilling with a cake or two!

muddaofsuburbia · 05/06/2004 12:34

GF - just popping in to say a very friendly hello

After all the confusion and suspicion yesterday, I believe you when you say you're not that poster. Very odd situation though - kind of disrupted all the friendly vibes we had until then

In answer to your query re hitting children - Bloss has posted an excellent reply to Cazzybab's friend's very dodgy beliefs. I agree with Bloss too FWIW - I'd never really heard of OS either. So yes I agree with you too - smacking and claiming it's part of your "religion" is totally abhorrent and certainly not something that I would align myself with - as would any real Christian.

Can I have some cake please??

papillon · 05/06/2004 12:36

No you are not muggle

Yes I sometimes read of wot I would term extreme believers of the faith who have abused their children according to their literal version of the bible. There was a case in NZ recently - baby died - and it was said the baby had the worst case of nappy rash ever seen by medical authorities. The family concerned were trying to pray it all away. But that I am without a doubt sure would horrify believers and non believers alike
Actually a favourite learn about babies book of mine is Dr Sears and he is a christian and that is one of his beefs being an Attached Parenter and all... smacking, crying and neglect.

Good cakes aye... banana flavoured for me today!

cheers midear - must eat and run though - off to B&Q for all those bank holiday DIY essentials - what joy is mine!!

Toothache · 05/06/2004 14:35

Nice to see the Yurt returning maaaaaaaaaaaaan. I've brought my own Nettle Wine if anyone wants some. Pregnancy seems to have rid me of my Yak fur allergy.... so chuck me over a bean bag and let me beach myself on it for a while if I may.

I'll probably need some help getting up though!

I haven't noticed any aggro threads for a while, so I'm purely here to put my feet up.

Is that 'herbal' muffins I smell cooking?

glitterfairy · 05/06/2004 20:04

mudda thank you and yes good to know everyone knows I am not muggle! Hope you enjoy your cake, and wine is of course served at only the best occasions toothache! The chill in here is exactly what I need as I have been at ballet show rehearsals all day with my three ds9 vomiting all night insisted on going and then cried and had to be taken home as she really wasnt well. Got home after 6 hours of this to clean up yet more sick I might be a nurse but I hate sick! Anyway rehearsals all week and then show on thursday friday and saturday joy is really mine mudda! Plus this is my week off and I know will go back to work and be asked if I have had a relaxing time grrrrrrrrrr.

papillon · 07/06/2004 18:42
