Morning All

Well I am feeling mildly better afew 12 hours in bed
Not sick, love bed and was tired. Dd went very early at 6.45pm and I thought well why not!! And we didn´t get up till 7.30am - so it was marvellous. Still had to wake up afew times but I am still happy with my lot

Thanks Sibble for the feedback and hearing about your thoughts and feelings about work. I thought of the 10th insight and the Doctor character who works in health when you mentioned about corporate markets, occupational care and then creche facilities. Lots of possibilities out there for you - quite exciting and obviously for you lots to think about!

Loved reading about the on the farm experiences!! I grew up on a family dairy farm with around 250 cows. We were quite self sufficient in a traditional way I guess. Chickens, big vegetable gardens - you should have seen my grandad´s berry cage - enormous.
We all used to sit in the pea patches and stuff ourselves - then have to lie down flat in case Grandma caught us!!
Haymaking was a family affair - once big enough I was the truck driver (but not on the roads as I didn´t have my licence).

Bit wistful this morning - wish I could be with my family today as our dog in NZ (nicknamed by me ´little son´ got run over and had to be put down). When living at home b4 moving to CH he used to sleep in my room - the loft - and on my bed as well. I did reiki on him one summer. Will stop now - or I will be reminising all day - except to say I think he is freeze framed now in my head standing upright as he was buried looking out over my parents orchard

morning papillon,
I'm so sorry to hear about your little son
we had a beautiful boxer dog who died when I was pregnant with DS2. She'd fought cancer 3 times but this last time got her I think the grief of it caused me to be ill late on in my pregnancy. Keep hold of the lovely memories.

Not much doing here today, DS2 is poorly (again!) he's laid on the sofa, all subdued. I hope to get chance to read/study more when he's napping. I just can't seem to concentrate lately? I read and don't take it in iykwim?

I haven't slept much as he kept me awake so it feels like the middle of the night? What' the time difference to the UK,where u are papillon? Is it an hour?

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 09:21

Hi eveyone!! Once again I've missed most of the thread - lol!!!

Does anyone know of a good website or book of what different symbols/ crystals/ colours/ 'objects' mean? I've always been interested in making jewellery and started learning but then it got lost in rows with UH and having a baby, but now that I'm used to being a mum and UH is nearly out of my life I'm going to start doing it again. And one of the things I want to make is a bracelet for myself, aounds weird, but to signify everything that's happened in the last few years and how far I've come now. Sorry if that sounds really self-indulgent!!

But I'm not sure what to put on it, thats why I need to know what the meanings of certain crystals/gemstones, charms etc are.

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 09:22

Sorry about 'little one' papillion.

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 09:23

Aaarggghhh! Meant to put 'little son'. Should stop coming on before I'm properly awake!

papillon · 26/04/2004 09:25

Hi Juniper

Thanks for your thoughts. Sad to hear about your dog too... although it has probably been awhile ... they are always remembered aren´t they. We have been having a sad dog time laterly - my dh family recently lost 2 of their dogs... once with liver cancer... the other old age.. but an inopportune time as his father was having a big op against cancer.

Anyway.. onwards and upwards... I am in Switzerland... hence why I am always going to bed when u all go online We are one hour ahead.

You probably cannot concentrate on too much reading cause u are tired... I get like that too. have only recently started reading again after the birth of dd... and I am an avid reader normally. Still I find snippets of info ok.. had to read very light material near the end of the pregnancy... brain drain!!

Have a good day Juniper - hope your ds gets better soon and stays away from the sick bug for awhile.

LOL wobblyknix - glad u found us - will have to look for u for good websites

I had a necklace made in the conception stages of pregnancy which has all my birth stones and had afew for the coming baby. I went to a store in town - and the woman there made it from my astrological birth chart.

Bracelet sounds like a great idea!! I don´t think it is self indulgent at all... taking time to do things for yourself, especially when they are healing, learning and soothing - then it can benefit other people around you.
unless u spend all day muttering and twisting the bracelet whilst looking outwards through your tangled hair

Funny that wobblynicks, I was thinking of the same bracelet thing recently. It's a lovely idea.

forgot to say, glad you're well rested papillon

papillon · 26/04/2004 10:45

Having a coffee break after big discussion on research at work. THink the bracelet idea is a fab one and will look for websites. Not at all self indulgent unless you sit in the pub going oh yes that was the night that......... all the time! Actually think home made jewellry is very important my dd 9 makes it for me all the time with dolphins on! Papillon your farm sounds absokutely idyllic mine was muddy yorkshire job with midges in the summer when I watned to raid the peas. Anyway back to the grindstaone!

melsy · 26/04/2004 11:37

Hello all , just been taking a spiritual reflection time the last few days.

Hi wobblyknicks , the bracelet is a wobderful idea, you can mke me one too!!!No self indulgent at all, I thinkit is very important to do things for yourself. My dh bought me a footspa for xmas and he made me use it lastnigt, it was wonderful. If you feel wonderful then everyone gets the best of you. I look on websites a lot for explanations on crytals an other things. I will link some here. Youll probably have loads by the time weve all finished

Snugs · 26/04/2004 13:29

Hi all

Just a quick visit as have to go out shortly.

wobblyknicks - I will also try to add some links for crystals, colours etc. However, it is important to remember that you may find a lot of conflicting information. At the end of the day, the significance of crystals, colours, stones etc is what they mean to YOU (as the maker or wearer). For example, many people see green as a healing colour, and blue as a relaxing, soothing colour. For me, it is the other way around.

papillon - sorry to hear about your dog. I am so jealous that you are in Switzerland. I had a wonderful school trip there when I was about 12 (my one and only foreign holiday ever!) and I have wanted to return ever since.

juniper - hope ds recovers soon. My DH is 39 by the way, so slightly older than me.

papillon · 26/04/2004 16:05

WOBBLYKNICKS here is a website about colours called cosmicsparkle . I like that name

Do you know much about your birth chart... maybe putting some of the stones related to your chart might be interesting to work with.

Hi everyone hope you had a good day. I am currently setting up my dh computer for him! Yawn Yawn! He is out at a party!

melsy · 26/04/2004 21:00

Hi glitterfairy, does tht meane you get this computor all to yourself???

Hi snugs , How true you are with regards to conlficting information. There is a overwhelming amount of information on the web and yes much of it conflcts and contradicts. I think if searching for answres it may jut be used as a guide but not a definate answer to things, mostly it should be a fun light hearted way of looking at things wobblynicks and may just help to crystalise your intersts in the various forms!! (get the pun!!!).

Here are some I look at for info

crystal choosing & meanings .
holistic online shop .

Let us know how you get on with your bracelet.

going to sit down with dh and a glass of wine

M xxx

Snugs · 26/04/2004 21:24

G' Evening.

Nice links. Sorry can't post any of mine yet - they are all saved in my favourites, but I am using my mums PC at the moment so can't access them.

Like the look of the Holistic Shop, but I like to be able to feel crystals and stones before I buy them. The energy can vary so much, so I like to pick the right ones for myself not have someone else pick them for me, so mail order is no good for me.

wobblyknicks (or anyone else) - if you haven't got an astro chart, let me know. There are some good sites or I could draw one up for you. Don't do a lot of detailed astrology but can do a basic natal chart.

sibble · 26/04/2004 21:35

Snugs would be intersted if you could do my astrochart (cheeky to ask I know) or if you could point me in teh direction of a good site. Have to fly soon to work, have a good evening everybody.

Papillon, sorry to hear about your dog....

Melsy have a glass of wine for me, I can taste that first glass when this baby pops out....

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 21:43

Thanks for all the help everyone!! Really sorry, I did my usual thing of posting on a board then completely forgetting I have!!! Sorry!!

Thanks for all the links and help, will have a good look in a min.

papillion - rofl at me with tangly hair muttering to myself!!

I see what you mean about conflicting meanings, but I just wanted something to use as a base - in the end everything means something different to each person.

melsy - I'd happily make you one too, and anyone else that wants one. Just email me at wobblyknicks at hotmail.

Snugs, I haven't got an astro chart and would really love one, especially as I'm on the cusp of cancer and leo and can never find out much about that. My b'day is 23rd July 1982. I know I was born sometime around 4am but don't know the exact minute. Thanks!

juniper68 · 26/04/2004 21:52

have a look at this

they do free charts on there

Snugs · 26/04/2004 21:54

wobblyknicks - No problem. Need to know where you were born as well.

sibble - not cheeky at all, I offered. Need date, time if possible (and time zone if not GMT), and place of birth.

Oh, and email address for me to send it to you. You too wobblyknicks please.

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 21:58

Chester hospital. And my email is wobblyknicks at hotmail.com. Thanks snugs

Snugs · 26/04/2004 22:00

No problem - although I now feel old since I realised I got married the day before your 7th birthday!

wobblyknicks · 26/04/2004 22:05

lol - sorry snugs!!!

melsy · 26/04/2004 22:36

hello chatty girls

Like you snugs I prefer to buy things that I have chosen and been drawn too physically, they just call out to you & I love to hold them first. I want to re buy some crytals as several of my beauties have gone missing , but there is nowere around/near me to get them easily.

Just saying a quick hello and nighty night, as dd needs bottle and the wine has made me wooozy. Thats the milk shes having not the wine BTW!!!

So night girls , speak again soon xxxxxxxx

Snugs · 27/04/2004 00:13

wobblyknicks - although on the cusp, your sun sign is definitely Cancer (with the Moon in Virgo). I have only glanced at it so far, but it seems fairly balanced with 2 planets each in Earth and Fire and 3 each in Air and Water.

Will have a better look at it tomorrow and will email you.

Night night x
