papillon · 24/04/2004 12:12

So that we are ready in case Mn does grant us a board - names

These ones have already been listed as well as new suggestions below

a. Whole self
b. Energy and being
c. Spirituality and self
d. Sensing and being
e. Philosophy and Beliefs
f. Religion and Spiritual Beliefs
g. Philosophy, Religion, Spirit
h. Spiritual life
i. Philosophy and Spiritual life

feedback please

OP posts:
melsy · 24/04/2004 12:20

I like i ; pihilosophies and spsiritual life. I think for newbies its good to have a title that explains what the board is. It is difficult thought to encompass all we are discussing and not be too offputting!!!

j. Alternative life
k. Living spiritualy
l. Soul search
m. soul wellbeing

ruminate ruminate !!!

melsy · 24/04/2004 12:41

n. Enlightenment ????

Caribbeanqueen · 24/04/2004 12:51

m. Spirituality and alternative living

melsy · 24/04/2004 13:07

Thats a good one too, carribeanqueen.May be we are trying to be too cryptic !!!

Snugs · 24/04/2004 14:43

Hi all.

I like g)Philosophy, Religion, Spirit (or a switched round version). It covers everything and allows for threads about Catholic/Jewish/Muslim (etc etc) issues as well (which is why I think the word Religion should be included).

I am not so keen on ones like j) Alternative life or m) Spirituality and alternative living. Why should my beliefs be sidelined as alternative?

Snugs · 24/04/2004 14:47

juniper - sorry, forgot to reply to your question. I am in East Yorkshire, although for 20 odd years the government reckoned I lived in Humberside (and without ever leaving my home town!)

papillon · 24/04/2004 14:55

I feel the same about alternative Snugs - I seem to not be able to get away from the word!!

I am attracted to the word beliefs - seems to encompass both religion and spirituality - no conquer and divide necessary (enough of that going around already in the world at large)

Want to be able to include philosophy or some such word, so that metaphysical subjects can be included.

have now typed myself into another option

Metaphysical beliefs

Not sure but adding it to the list

Hi Snugs
Hope your dh is on the mend

humberside - did you cast a spell on the govt snugs and make them lose track of you!!

OP posts:
Snugs · 24/04/2004 15:19

Ah - if only I could cast spells on the government No, they just invented this new county and told us we all lived in it. Now, finally we are back in the good old Ridings of Yorkshire where we belong. Now just have to persuade the Post Office that Humberside (yuck) no longer exists.

DH is well thanks. It was a minor op on his knee, but I hate it when he has to have a general anaesthetic, can?t help worrying.

glitterfairy · 24/04/2004 15:50

Hi everyone I like including philosphy papillon but didnt mention it in my suggestions. Found a great shop when out whihc had a silver box with six little scrolls for writing your wishes in which you then gave to best mate until they came true. Of course like the depressing person I am I instantly thought yes but what if they dont and then how would your friend feel? Never mind one day I qwill be able to discard my cynisism and be the sunny optimist I know I truly am! (that was feedback once on a work report on me!)

papillon · 24/04/2004 15:56

Oh dear Glitterfairy - the detox has kick in yet has it!! When I did one a couple of years back I felt like I was flying after about day 3!

I like the word philosophy too...
maybe we should have a small paragraph as a name LOL

Wishes to me are like prayers and realised within myself the other day - that patience is need as what you wish for my take some time and perhaps I just need to learn a new approach or angle and then this could unfold the wish

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 24/04/2004 16:11

ooh I like that unfolding wishes! We are always so careful though about wishes and even say things like e careful what you wish for as though needs and wants are bad things we must supress. As for detox have a headache which I am sure will pass and a grumpy dh who is taunting me with steak!

papillon · 24/04/2004 16:29

I think that..
Needs and wants should not be supressed - it is abit like only having good or bad or black or white - way too much inbetween to choose from - which IMO is healthy!

Being careful of needs and wants though I reckon is important - I really connect with the pagan tenament that what you send out comes back three times over. Makes me more careful of actions and wishes

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 24/04/2004 18:26

DO you ever go on beliefnet by the way my business partner who is abit of a budhist goes on it all the time adn send me stuff from it.

papillon · 24/04/2004 18:49

Never heard of beliefnet before - any good?
was just having an epiphany about websites in the bath ! Am going to mull my idea over more (being secretative

btw I may get around to emailing u soon as I would like to speak more about your work and how u moved into this area - any training etc... (or if you want to respond here...) ... would really be interested in speaking more about this and such like ... let me know

glitterfairy · 24/04/2004 18:57

No problem we can sart a new thread. But email me as it would be good to be able to just chat away. Are you on MSN messenger as that is faster I find. Whatever no problem.

juniper68 · 24/04/2004 19:46

Afternoon all,

I see there are lots of ideas for names for when/if we get a board. I like spirituality and religion.

Snugs, my DH used to live in Scarborough and we go there a lot. That's sort of East yorkishire? He also recently had a knee op (cartilage) his 2nd. More coincidences

The boys and I had a lovely day whilst DH was at football. have a look at this that's where we went. It's so peaceful and the weather's been beautiful today.

papillon · 24/04/2004 19:51
