As the other thread is nearing its limit, hopefully this is the thread with lots of positive news.

I bought lots of little plants from the garden centre yesterday and planted them in my garden. I couldn't help thinking of Aillidh, even though I have never met her or her family. I am not religious, but do have faith in something and I felt as close to it as I could yesterday, on my knees with my fingers in the dirt, planting all these new little lives. I thought hard about Aillidh then and am doing so again from my office, as I see the sun breaking tentatively through the clouds over the Irish sea.

Keep fighting, beautiful Aillidh xx

Posting this on both threads:

Today is Sunday, the Lord's Day and I will be off to church soon. Chances of me being a blubbering wreck in the service - quite high Grin But whether you go to church or not, whatever your spiritual position, you can get behind Expat and Aillidh and their family. I know we're going to be singing this at chuch this morning. I will be thinking of Aillidh when I am singing it.
The other thing I am going to do is lift my hands up high when I'm praying today. That doesn't come particularly easy to me - CofE background - we don't do that much Grin but I did when praying for Cupoftea's beautiful Beatrice and I found the physical act very helpful. So if it helps you please join me and lift up your hands in prayer.

I believe in a God who is Mighty to Save. I believe in miracles. I believe in answered prayer. I will lift up my hands to the Lord who loves me and loves Aillidh.

Made it to church for the first time in a few weeks this morning. As I placed my host into the communion platter at the start of mass I expressed Aillidh as my personal intention for the mass.

Our priest in his homily spoke of us being instruments of healing so let us all ask God to help us be just that for Aillidh.

Our final hymn was "Be Still for the Presence of the Lord" and the final verse says "Be still for the power of the Lord is moving in this place". Lord, I pray that the power of your Holy Spirit will move to heal Aillidh, give strength to Expat and Mr Expat and wisdom to all those caring for Aillidh.

Annunziata · 01/07/2012 13:12

Today's gospel was about a very sick wee girl. All hope seemed lost but Jesus cured her. Could only think about Ailidh, still praying for her morning and night. God bless.

ColouringIn · 01/07/2012 13:51

Me too Annunziata, I kept hoping that the fact it was THAT particular Gospel was God's message that he is hearing our prayers for Allidh. All I could think of was Aillidh and her family. I asked our Priest to remember Aillidh in the Mass this morning and he did - he asked for prayers "particularly for a little girl called Aillidh who is very sick".
Just hope all this is helping.

There is an update on the thread in Chat. Please can you read it and pray.

lilibet · 01/07/2012 15:09

Copied from the other thread

Don't know if anyone has seen on facebook, but I read the lesson in church this morning which was Mark, chapter five, verses 21 - 43. Leigh is reading it to Aillidh now, can anyone who has a bible please get it out, read this and focus on Expat and her girl. "get up little girl, get up"

Northernlurker · 01/07/2012 15:36

That passage has been very much on my heart for a few days. Jesus said 'Don?t be afraid; just believe' - how much we need to hear that just now.

chipmonkey · 01/07/2012 15:39

I was at the blessing of my Dad's grave today and that was the gospel. I hope it was a message.

ToothbrushThief · 01/07/2012 15:48

Dear Lord Be with Aillidh and her family at this really painful time. Please
