Shit, I don't think anyone can comprehend what expat and her family must be going through. I hope to God they don't have to let her go and she finds the strength to keep fighting this.

Just seen this after reading the update thread. I am adding my somewhat rusty prayers to the communal MN pot.

Anyone who reduces MN, or similar forums simply to "just words on a screen" is so, so wrong. We can come to 'know' people through their posts here, and they become as real as someone you see regularly in the street.

SPB - my faith feels so very small sometimes, a little light in the darkness but it burns always and it warms me and I will hold to it come what may because I know that I am loved. I know that Aillidh and Expat and all of you are loved, so loved and we can come to the Father in prayer. We can open our hearts and we can ask and if we're going to ask, in the knowledge of that love, then we'd better ask with confidence.

i have been in tears as well, for a family i dont know and have never met, but who i have 'spoken' to on mnet, and i am not religious as such, but i am hoping and thinking and i think that god will listen to all of us, even if we do not have faith as such, he will hear our thoughts and it must all help.

i may actually go into town in a bit and light a candel in the cathedral, just because it feels like i am doing something, anything.

Just tried to PM you but it stil isn't working for me so will repost here -

Giraffes is there anything I can send - books/comics/etc etc for any of the family as this has really touched me. Expat helped me a long time ago for a much more trivial thing than she is now going through and I would like to pay back in some tiny way.
