Jan - it's a hard thing but some external advice/support might help?

DO- glad to hear Bob is a bit brighter today. That's a lot of tablets!!

I've got my parents coming for lunch today - anytime now! They're very houseproud and my standards - never up to theirs - have understandably slipped in the last few months. Plus we're packing for our house move 2 weeks today. Please don't let them be critical! They're coming to get the children for the weekend as one of dh's colleagues is getting married tomorrow and we're off to the highlands for that, they're getting married in Glencoe, very dramatic if the weather is good!

Please could you pray for my mobility which has deteriorated this week prior to my regular IVs. I don't really want to spend the whole wedding in my wheelchair if I don't have to!

Also some praise/thanks! Dd1 had a fabulous week on her primary 7 residential which is fab as she's been finding school stressful recently. And ds got a distinction in his grade 1 piano exam, his teacher says he's very talented and should be doing grade 2 in the autumn!

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 20/04/2012 12:31

Oh well done mini-weegie's !

A distinction is very impressive and should distract even the most critical parents from any dust spotting Grin

Hope you have a really good time at the wedding in Scotland - sounds very romantic - praying for some sunshine for you all Smile

amberlight · 20/04/2012 13:25

Please can I ask for prayers for us. We have a very tricky set of things to get through in the next few weeks - can't give details - I'm trying to avoid stress for health reasons but the only way to do this is to first go through some really intense stress with work things so that it gets sorted.

weegiemum · 20/04/2012 14:54

Praying for you Amber in a general kind of way - God knows your needs so I don't have to!
Had nice lunch with my parents, they brought lovely M&S sandwiches and soup, and I took them for a drive to see our new house which was much approved of!!

Going for a lie down now, dh not home till 7 and we have a 2 hour drive from Glasgow plus the wedding tomorrow!

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 20/04/2012 15:33

Oh I'm glad you had a nice lunch with the DPs weegie. A quiet house now and time for a rest before the weekend starts ? Hope you have a lovely time Smile

DutchOma · 20/04/2012 16:51

Have a lovely time Weegie.

blackeyedsusan · 20/04/2012 17:54

prayed that you will find your way through the stress one "door"/ turn at a time amber.

enjoy you weekend weegie.

I am currently slumped in a heap in the corner after walking to town and back and miles around the dd's favourite museum, trying to summon the energy to do tea.

OP posts:
JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 20/04/2012 18:00

What's for tea bes

So far we've had some buttered waffles and a hot chocolate.

Thinking of putting on some pasta. How about you ?

(We went to our re-vamped museum twice during the holidays. The DCs complained about going twice but were pacified by the fact that there's some new Napoleonic prisoner of war hammocks to loll about in. LOL Grin )

Starwisher · 20/04/2012 18:03

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words

lostmywellies · 20/04/2012 20:52

Mmm, can I come to tea at yours tomorrow, juggling?

A miracle! The car is ok again! Really big, potentially awful problem seems to have evaporated. DH and I were really not expecting that, from the way the mechanic was talking. Thanks for your prayers. We are praising God! This makes my weekend seem much easier - heck, it makes my life seem much easier!

amber - prayers that God who is the source of all calm will keep you strong and well through the stresses you must face.

weegie - what clever dcs! :)

Nanniejo - welcome! Wow, your family is really dispersing/dispersed, isn't it? Prayers for the upcoming wedding.

Hi, NCIS. Hope that essay research has been going well!

SESthebrave · 20/04/2012 21:37

Sorry it's been a few days since I've properly posted but you've all been in my thoughts and prayers.

Welcome to Beccaroooo, Starwisher, Nanniejo and NCIS :)

Bafana - hope you're still around too!

weegie - have a great weekend! Prayers for your mobility levels for the wedding. Oh and what clever little weegies you have!

amber - prayers for your situation and stress levels

DO - glad Bob is doing better. I didn't realise that he was also managing epilepsy. Btw, I'm not sure if I've mentioned but I'm a pharmacist by profession so if you ever have any queries about his meds you think I can help with, do feel free to PM me.

MHD - don't think we have any plans for the summer at the moment so nearer August let me know the dates you're around this way and - if it fits for you - we must try and meet up!

Nanniejo - prayers for your family and for a suitable location for the wedding

TUO - hope the funeral went as well as it could. That is a lovely prayer.

NCIS - prayers for your application and essay.

Juggling - great news about the job!!!

Great to see this thread so busy - prayers for God's blessings and for us all to feel a closeness of God and his love in the middle of all the various situations we are all in.

I would appreciate prayers for presentation scan on Tuesday. I could really do with this LO being in the right position for a VBAC instead of the awkward position DS was in!
Also prayers for work. I have one week left before ML and there's been a restructure this week which means I have a new boss I've never met before. I will meet him at a conference on Monday in London but need to try and make a good impression even though I'm heading off on ML!

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 20/04/2012 21:55

Hi SES - that's a lovely post remembering everyone. Just wanted to say I wouldn't worry too much about your last week of work before Mat leave and meeting your new boss. In my experience everyone is lovely to you before ML.
I remember getting some lovely little pressies from people I'd only been working with for a couple of weeks when I was a supply teacher in London. But then maybe as I was working in Nursery schools they were probably quite maternal types ! But I'm sure you will make a good impression anyway and really he's just going to be thinking/saying oh, good luck with the baby when's it due ? That sort of thing ! What sort of work do you do ? Will you spend much time with him at the conference ? What sort of thing are you working on ATM ?

We'll all be praying for your LO to get into a good position for birth, and not follow in big brothers foot-steps !

SESthebrave · 20/04/2012 22:04

Thanks Juggling!
I'm a pharmacist for a well known large chain(!) and have a field role, line managing about 45 pharmacists and looking after the deployment of pharmacists to ensure all days off and holidays are covered. I've had a really good year at work and am finishing off with a top rating on my performance plan and I won £100 of vouchers for a Best of the Best award for Field Team Leader. I guess I just don't want to lose the momentum with my career whilst on ML. Don't get me wrong, this is a much longed for LO but I guess I do love my job and the whole supporting and motivating my team.

Won't get to spend a lot of time with new boss on Monday as there will be about 150 people there but I did speak to him on the phone today and we agreed we'd meet up for a coffee- even if it is in the first couple of weeks of my ML before (hopefully!) LO arrives.

When do you start your new job?

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 20/04/2012 22:24

Oh I don't know yet when I'll be starting SES but expecting it to be very soon. I'm going in to their office on Monday to get the necessary forms done and I guess I'll find out then. You do a great job team building on here too SES - team is getting bigger and stronger all the time Smile

blackeyedsusan · 20/04/2012 22:31

spaghetti and bolognase out of the freezer, juggling.

all is peaceful. let's hope it stays that way...

Tuo · 20/04/2012 23:16

Hello all. Today went as well as these things can, but last night my poor SIL had a fire at her house, so it was stressful (for her, in particular) in unexpected ways. Please can I ask for prayers for SIL and her family as they attempt to sort out the mess, find somewhere else to live temporarily, and repair the (extensive) damage. Thank God, though, that no-one was hurt, and that (my) DH was with her for support, as hers was away.

Black humour: one of the hymns that DH's aunt had chosen for the funeral was 'Dear Lord and Father of Mankind'. Never had the 'still small voice of calm' behind the 'earthquake, wind and - ahem - fire' seemed less appropriate!

Weegie Prayers for the wedding tomorrow. I hope you don't have to rely on the wheelchair too much and that it's not too tiring for you. Oh, and good luck preparing for the move, too.

NannyJo Welcome!

SES Prayers for an easy last week at work and for your LO to get into a good position for you. IMHO (and IME) if you love your job (I do, too), that will give you the motivation you need to get back to it post-LO and to contue to be successful.

Oma Glad that Bob had a better night/day. Long may that improvement continue.

Lost A miracle! Prayers answered. I'm so please that that's one less thing for you to worry about.

Amber Praying that your difficult situation is resolved for you with a minimum of stress and worry.

Prayers for all, and apologies to anyone I've forgotten.

Teaandcakeplease · 21/04/2012 07:19

My car only needed the catalytic converter in the end and not the lambda sensor, so it was £251. Instead of £300 and it passed the MOT and retest yesterday. God has as usual somehow managed to make it work financially Smile Hurrah!

DD has a swimming lesson at 9am. So I better eat some breakfast and get ready. Getting distracted by mn Blush

PositiveAttitude · 21/04/2012 07:59

Praying as I read through all your posts.

Please pray for me. I am feeling run ragged. I need to say "no" more and mean it! We are again feeling under spiritual attack there is so many things going on at the moment it would take a whole page to type them all out and you would all get totally bored, so I wont name them all. God knows! I am getting increasingly stressed about some things. Please pray that a situation with DD1 is resolved today and with minimal fallout. Thank you.

Becaroooo · 21/04/2012 08:08

praying positive

Please pray that the tablets will work and I will start to feel better, and that my 2 consultant appts go well next week
x

madhairday · 21/04/2012 11:30

Praying for you all as I read through. Lots to thank God for and lots to pray for. Praying especially SES that the baby will play the game and get in the right position for you! :) Praying for Amber, that things will seem calm and peaceful today and you'll know God walking close to you.

Feeling a bit rubbish here, healthwise and emotionally, would appreciate any prayers you can throw my way. However we have a team out prayer walking round the area so that's good.

thejaffacakesareonme · 21/04/2012 11:31

Hi - lurking and praying

It is so wonderful to see so many answers to prayer. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

blackeyedsusan · 21/04/2012 14:00

someone pass the gaffa tape and sit on me...

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 21/04/2012 14:37

Tuo - just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about the fire at your SILs. That sounds terrible for her and her family. Perhaps good that your DH was with her and of course especially that no-one was hurt.

Things going reasonably OK here but ....

I've said I'll lead a couple of songs at the prayer group for parents at my DDs school on Monday. Only problems are that I need a Taize CD and CD player (we may have some suitable portable player around the house but DH unfortunately not here to advise) And I need to find a CD - hoping someone at church may be able to lend one. Oh and also I can't sing (in tune) So prayer may be beneficial !

Many thanks !

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 21/04/2012 14:46

Oh and DS needs a costume for World book day at school on Monday too, and wants to be some bird from a Roald Dahl book. Arghhh !
But there's already been a small divine intervention there when the garage I stopped in this morning had some perfect stripey wrapping paper for the stripey wings Smile Still no idea how to make it into an actual costume though Confused Who thought up costumes for World Book Day huh ? Who ?!!

DutchOma · 21/04/2012 15:26

Wasn't me!! Honest!!

The abs have had an unwanted effect of the 'run' variety on Bob. On a Saturday, so no-one to speak to at the surgery. Pharmacy said Dioralite (sp) and Imodium. He's asleep now.

Giving thanks for mended cars and prayers for baby positions, talks with (nearly) grown up daughters, gaffer tape and spaghetti bolognese (what a combination, BES) and everything else.

I've mowed the lawn.
