TaCP Not surprised that you were feeling shaky after meeting your mum. Even without the details, it's easy to see how upsetting things have been for you. I am praying for peace of mind for you.

BES Hope you feel more - ahem - comfortable soon.

Hello iamhiding! Are you OK? Why are you hiding? You are very welcome here.

Oma How is Bob? Have been thinking about you.

I am feeling a lot calmer now (thanks for prayers) but have done something to my back... sharp pain (like a trapped nerve or something) at the base of my spine on left-hand side. Ow!

Praying for everyone on here.

DutchOma · 29/04/2012 09:23

iamhidingagain, glad you've come out of hiding enough to appear on the thread. Are you ok?
We had dd and dgcs over yesterday which is always a bit stressful, because they are all very loud. Dd being loud is the hardest to cope with and we told her so, so she toned it down a bit.
All in all we had a good time, went to buy some wool for dgs's cardigan and some buttons. Bob coped very well, but he is still very breathless and without much energy. He's not coming to church because he wants to save energy for Tuesday when we go to the Brompton. I'm going, hoping to meet a MN'ter that came into the 'secret' group on Facebook and said she lived in N'pton. I stayed in that group long enough to pick it up, so she is hoping to come this am with 'two lively toddlers' I'm really hoping she can make it, the weather is atrocious.

iamhidingagain · 29/04/2012 10:22

(ahem) (see above^)

things are improving a bit Wink

Teaandcakeplease · 29/04/2012 14:27

Is that you BES? Stop hiding Smile

Bluetinkerbell · 29/04/2012 17:52

ugh those poor girls who won the school choir of the year competition on Songs of Praise had to wear hideously ugly skirts! They didn't even come from Scotland Wink

how's the bum bes Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 29/04/2012 18:12

Missed that, as I have been subjected to Care Bears all afternoon Hmm Worth looking for on iplayer is it? Grin

Bluetinkerbell · 29/04/2012 18:15

tea it was lovely singing! Wink

Tuo · 29/04/2012 20:29

Hahahahahaaaaa.... Is that yoooooouuuuuuuu, BES? Are you any more comfortable? Grin

Lovely service today. But fed up of this stupid rain. Would it be really selfish to pray for a sunny day, just to break the monotony and to cheer us all up a bit?

Oma Praying for a good week for you and Bob and is it too much to hope for some answers from the Brompton. Hope your meetup went well...

DutchOma · 29/04/2012 20:59

Didn't meet up: the weather was really bad, high wind and driving rain, not a day to bring two toddlers to a church you have never been to befroe. It was quite an unusual service with lots of flags and candles (someone set fir to her service sheet but it didn't come to anything) and no 'proper' anything at all, Lots of work had gone into it and it did give me something to tink about other than my own misery.
Glad Bob did not come, he is nto feeling too happy tonight.

Yes, I too an hoping for some useful information from the Brompton. Just now I am fretting about the transport as I always do, the other two times we have been with this drivier it has been perfectly alright, but does that stop me worrying? Ha.

Prayers for all.

blackeyedsusan · 29/04/2012 22:12

oh dutch, I hope he feels happier soon.

mum and dad are really poorly with a cold, not good at 80 and late 70's with copd/ high bloodpressure and other health worries.

...and i went to church, wwell, creche really. dd had a good time. she is not sure what she learnt though Hmm I will go again in a couple of weeks and see if I can keep ds in the service to see what a service is like. he did not like creche as I went out to pop to the loo.. I had to peel him off and wrestle him back in. and he hugged the door til I came back. one of the sunday school workers was very sensitive to what was going on when dd fell and also did not want to be "on" in the game.

amberlight · 29/04/2012 23:28

Prayers continuing. I sometimes don't write much other than that, but it doesn't mean that I don't read, think, care and pray.

Teaandcakeplease · 30/04/2012 06:58

Feel in a foul mood this morning and fighting off urge to cry. Hard to unpack why. The chap I'm dating has a lot on and I haven't heard from him since Friday. Not unusual for him, although I've mentioned before I long for more in our relationship than I'm able to have. Perhaps it's being compounded by my Dads rejection. Going to try to eat something and get the kids ready for school Sad

blackeyedsusan · 30/04/2012 07:23

coffee and breakfast usually helps.

there is also often a low after a crisis as the adrenalin wears off...

PositiveAttitude · 30/04/2012 07:26

Amber, I am the same. I read and pray far more than I post! Wink

TACP prayers for peace for you today.

Prayers for Bob & DO

Jan how are things with you now? ((hugs))

Please pray for God's will to become clear in 2 very tricky meetings this week at our church. There is a big discussion taking place about whether the church should be supporting us financially at all for our mission work. Already a couple have resigned because of all this and we are feeling quite awkward for stirring up such depth of feelings. We have never expected any money from them, but lots of people are very vocal about the fact that they SHOULD be supporting us.
The meetings are Wednesday evening (Leadership meeting - Dh will have to step outside while it is discussed), then Thursday evening we have a membership meeting.
Also, I have a very busy week because I really want to get on top of my workload and be able to hand some of it over soon.

Prayers for all on here!

MaryBS · 30/04/2012 08:15

Prayers for all concerned.

How are you and Bob today, DO?

PA, if they have the ability to support you, then perhaps they should. Just because it is causing conflict, doesn't mean that its wrong. Praying for constructive discussion and sensible debate, with a Godly outcome...

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 30/04/2012 09:09

I've been feeling really achey over the weekend especially around neck and shoulders. Am going to see doc tomorrow am. I've also got a nasty sore throat and hope my aches and pains are related to that and not related to anything more serious such as rheumatoid arthritis ( I have a strange, small bump that's recently developed on the side of my nose and have heard of rheumatoid nodules) Hopefully it's a case of hypochondria (DH is certainly leaning towards that possibility !) If so that would be good !

Poor DCs didn't get out much over the weekend apart from to band practice on Saturday morning. The rain and my aches and pains conspired against us Sad

Quaker meeting was good on Sunday though as we welcomed a lovely friend of mine into membership.

How was everyone else's weekend ?

DutchOma · 30/04/2012 10:50

Prayers continuing for all.
PA you know that I think a church should support its missionaries financially as well as in prayer and in gloating over how well they are doing.
I am pretty sure that God will provide by means of the local church, that's how it usually happens, He does not make money grow on trees in your garden.

Well, if it were left to Bob i'm sure he would much prefer not to go to London tomorrow, but everything is organised for us to go and I'm pretty sure that he will come. It's a big ask though and I do hope that they will be able to get something going a bit nearer home.

madhairday · 30/04/2012 11:21

Praying for Bob's appt tomorrow DO. Do hope they finally do something more and as you say sort something out nearer to you. If not you can always ask to be referred to your local chest unit? I have done this before when I didn't like the other option.

TACP - just read back a bit - wow, you are amazing, but I am so sorry you have had to face all this....praying for God's blessing upon you.

Prayed for everyone as I read through - hadn't been on for a few days. Been confined to bed with another chest infection and felt grotty. Rather fed up of it all atm. Just keep wishing they caught it earlier in my life then could have had surgery. But that's not to say it wouldn't have spread anyway. I just feel cross and tired. Ignore me Grin

gingercurl · 30/04/2012 11:35

Prayers for everyone as I read through.

Like Amber, I don't post much, but usually do visit every day to read, think and pray.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 30/04/2012 12:04

mhd - sorry you've been feeling grotty over the weekend.

I'm sorry your illness wasn't caught earlier when surgery would have been an option. That is a lot for you to have to deal with and only natural to feel cross about sometimes. I guess sometimes you tell yourself that the docs did and continue to do the best they can for everyone, but they are human aren't they, make mistakes and miss things ? - Didn't want to ignore you Thanks

Anyhow, I hope this infection will be quick to clear and you'll be feeling better soon.

lostmywellies · 30/04/2012 13:31

Juggling - know how you feel with cooped-up dcs. With the bronchitis last week and dd1's virus, we didn't walk to school or back at all - and they had wet play at school pretty much all week! I took them to a playbarn near us on Saturday afternoon - haven't done that for over a year. They definitely worked off some energy. :o What with that and Daddy coming home (for a day!), we had a good weekend, thanks!

bes - I reckon all your dd should be learning in Sunday School is that she likes being with God's people. :)

DO - prayers for Bob. mhd - prayers for you. And your dcs who are hopefully having a quieter week than some recently.

ZipadiSoozi · 30/04/2012 15:53

DO - I am really concerned for you and have my prayers for tomorrow, hope everything goes as smooth as it can, bless you you give so much when your own problems are off the scale xxxx (really wish I lived closer) xx

Mary - Congratulations on being elected for the 'churchwarden' (meetings and money) Grin

My continued prayers for everyone on the thread, I am a bad follower (busy) but do try, I have taken an hour off housework to catch up on thread (and that was just a glance)

Prayers my resignation goes well and is accepted in good grace, very worried about reaction, I feel I have let them down, but I am not settling and it is only causing me stress, have felt quite low last few weeks, prayers my depression does not return, I recognize the signs and I am trying to nip it in the bud before it gets hold!

My dsis is feeling alot better now, she has her moments but is doing brilliantly after Alice died suddenly last October. Thank you for all your prayers xxxxxx

Thank you God for a lovely sunny day! Smile

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 30/04/2012 16:51

Nice to see you on here Zipadi - sounds like handing in your notice at work might be for the best and very sensible, so hope it goes well, and they show some appreciation and understanding. Try not to feel as though you've let them down - I'm sure you've done your best, and if it's not working out it's probably best to move on. There's more to life than work which I find employers frequently forget !

DutchOma · 30/04/2012 16:53

Resignation from which job Soozi? I seem to remember you had about half a dozen.
Thank you for your concern, I do feel lost and lonely sometime and yes, I wish any of you lived closer. Or all of you.
