Oh, DO!

Tuo · 30/04/2012 22:26

Oh DO... I wish I lived closer too... I'd happily give you a lift to hospital appointments or whatever. Praying for a good outcome tomorrow.

Prayers for you, too, MHD. I hope you feel much better soon, and I'm sorry that your illness wasn't caught earlier.

Good to see you Soozi. Missed the background to your resignation, but hope it all goes well and, more importantly, that you keep the depression at bay.

Praying for your church meetings, PA. How sad that your work has caused bad feeling. I feel that that says more about the individuals involved, though, than about you or your project. I am sure that God will provide... think of the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, after all.

Rushing in and out, as madly busy again this week, but praying for all (including those I've missed here). Even though I'm busy, I'm a lot calmer than I was a week ago, and your prayers have a lot to do with that. Thank you.

DutchOma · 01/05/2012 07:08

Thank you all for your prayers. We are off at 12.30 as the appointment is not till 2.45, but we will be away for two mealtimes and Bob's siesta, so it's going to be tough for him.
Pray for me that I will have wisdom and grace in speaking with the health care professionals and not come across as a 'tigerwife' that needs taking down a peg or two.

I posted a while ago about our desperate housing situation and wanted to update. Me, DH and DS now 22 months. Two houses, one-bedroom one near both workplaces, one up north trying to sell but no takers. Getting more and more desperate as I also need to be able to work from home. We've also been desperately worried about DS's current nursery, which has been quite lax with safety. He's been on the waiting list for an "outstanding" nursery since he was born.

We took the house up north off the market, and put a loft extension into the house we're mostly living in to give us two bedrooms and a bit of study space for me. Spookily, both we and the builders think that this house (early 90s freehold 1-bed terraces) was originally designed to be at least a two-bed townhouse because of the layout of the loft.

On the day the builders finished the extension we received a letter from the nursery we have been trying to get DS into that they have a place for him from September!

How is that for God's good timing? Thanks everyone who even vaguely remembers and who sent up some prayers on our behalf.

DutchOma · 01/05/2012 08:47

Thanks for posting such a lovely story. I must admit I don't remember, but would have prayed at the time I read it. I'm always so glad that God is more faithful and better at remembering than I am.

gingercurl · 01/05/2012 10:00

I remember you Don. So glad things have worked out. God is good.

Could I ask you to pray for DH, please? He has some health issues, not threatening, but annoying/frustrating. Doc say there isn't much that can be done about it medically. It's getting him down.

blackeyedsusan · 01/05/2012 11:16

ere you the one with the house up north thaat got vandalised? and several people had a go at you?

praying do..

Don that's a great answer to prayer - praying things will continue getting better.

DO have been praying for you and will continue to through today - let us know how it goes - and be a tiger wife!! Unfortunately I have found we need to be pushy to get the best help with the NHS, wonderful as it can be.

Sooz great to hear from you and praying that the resignation will go well.

Jan keeping you in prayer...sorry things are hard.

TUO so pleased you are feeling calmer.

Blue how are you doing?

Thanks for all prayers. Just had a downer yesterday but things aren't as bad as they could be, I have many many blessings to be thankful for. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Bluetinkerbell · 01/05/2012 12:00

Hi mhd I'm lurking more instead of posting at the moment, just don't have the energy!
Still very tired and teased by terrible headaches... and sickness...
Also caught DD's cold, so not feeling too great... but then I think of what other people are going through and it's not that bad really :)
Getting slightly nervous for my scan and appointment with the consultant on Thursday morning, prayers appreciated for peace of mind and a little baby in there :)

Praying for everyone as I read through!

thejaffacakesareonme · 01/05/2012 12:13

Lurking and praying. Praying and lurking.

Had a bit of a shock last night. DD who is now 8 weeks had projectile vomit. I remembered that with DS1 that although he brought up what seemed like most of a feed at times the docs weren't worried about it because it wasn't projectile. Which made me think this might be something to worry about. Thankfully no more projectile vomit since last night and she seems fine in herself. Phew!

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 01/05/2012 12:15

GP thinks (like DH does but she pretended to be was more interested and more sympathetic!) that my aches and pains are not the sign of anything serious and the weird bump on my nose is just a weird bump (perhaps a cyst and not a "nodule")

I am having some bloods taken next week just to be sure, but looks encouraging that as GP said it isn't anything "interesting" - just normal wear and tear of approaching 50 Grin

So feeling thankful for the blessing of (relative) good health for myself and those that I love - and thanks for the care of doctors and other HCPs.

Have just been in to my new work HQ and looks like I may be starting on 14th, with a visit next week. Yay ! Looking forward to it, though hoping rain may have stopped by then so children can play outside too ! Also there was mention that depending how things go it could continue in September !

Glad you're feeling in better spirits today too mhd It's great when we can see the blessings Smile

MaryBS · 01/05/2012 15:32

Am feeling somewhat wobbly and more than a little unsociable at the moment, so would welcome prayers re: this

madhairday · 01/05/2012 15:42

Praying right now Mary. On fb if you need to talk.

DonInKillerHeels · 01/05/2012 16:47

No, no vandalism. Just 2.5 years on the market and now off again.

Am praying for everyone else. Glad this thread is here.

amberlight · 01/05/2012 16:59

Prayers all round.

Just back from the oncologist. She's happy that all seems ok now and wants me to stay off the herceptin wonder-drug-that-hated-me-more-than-chemo-did. Much thanks for those who have prayed. Now I'm into the standard six monthly checks for 4 1/2 years to make sure it stays gone.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 01/05/2012 18:22

My Mum's just been given the all-clear after breast cancer treatment a couple of years ago if that's any encouragement amber Smile

Glad visit to oncologist went well x

jan2011 · 01/05/2012 19:01

praise God for good reports both amber and juggling He is faithful
Mary hope you are ok sending support

madhairday · 01/05/2012 19:10

Good news amber! :)

PositiveAttitude · 01/05/2012 19:15

Thank you for your message TUO. I felt led to sit and meditate on that passage on Sunday about the flowers of the field and the birds of the trees. I have felt really at peace about it all, although I also know that there will be fireworks.
Mary - Its just a massive problem with the church at the moment. I could sum it up by saying "Wrong priorities, total hypocrisy and some blatant lying". and that's the minister for starters Shock

Don, I remember you. Thank you for updating us. What a wonderful answer to prayer.

Prayers for you Jan

MHD I am amazed that you dont have more "down" days. Prayers that you have more "up" days just around the corner. Smile

Prayers for a good outcome for Bob today, DO.

Good news Amber Smile

Just got a friend coming round to discuss wedding cakes! We have the church and reception venue booked for DD3, it all seems to be going well so far!

Big waves to everyone else on here! Smile

DutchOma · 01/05/2012 20:09

Thanks for all your prayers, we had the best visit ever.
We saw a different consultant, a professor Polkey. Anyone less looking like a professor I have still got to find: very young, bright, and very optimistic. They want Bob in hospital for three or four days with a view to fit him up with a ventilator. It might improve his breathing quite a bit, although they are not promising. We also had a good chat with the consultant we had seen before and shared our concerns with him. He will ring our GP, so that is a bonus as well. They are promising all sorts of things: to sort out the infection and his swallowing and have a word with a dietician, so even Bob is quite optimistic. He is absolutely whacked though

amberlight · 01/05/2012 20:25

DO, so very pleased...an answer to prayer at last I hope... Prayers form much rest for you both this evening and night time.
And for everyone else too.

lostmywellies · 01/05/2012 21:12

DO, that sounds really good. Sleep well, both of you!!

Juggling - continuing into September, maybe? Yay!

Pleased to hear your good news, Amber.

Jan - praying for strength for the coming minute. And then the one after that. And so on. Sometimes that's the only way to get through. :)

All normal here.

gingercurl · 01/05/2012 22:33

Good news, DO! Checked in to see if you had posted anything about how your day went. Praying that the proposed treatment works and more and a restful night for you both.
Yay, Amber!
How are you, Weegie?
Praying for you MHD. And Mary
Busy but calm is good, TUO and PA.
