Some good news!!

Expatinscotland is an oldtime mnetter and a friend of mine. Her dd1 has AML - Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. She was in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant after 4 rounds of Chemo.

Well, yesterday they got a donor!! She'll get a couple of weeks at home and then back in hospital for the transplant.

Please pray her immune system recovers soon so she can go home, and then get back to hospital to have the transplant, which is going to make her really sick for a while. She's 8, but a real fighter.

Could you pray for Aillidh, her mum and dad and her younger sister and brother.

MarynotBeSarcastic · 06/04/2012 15:47

Wow Weegie, prayers for Ailidh, I remember Expat, say hi from me :)

Just had a lovely Good Friday passion service. Off out shortly to do a walk of witness with the cross, and then finishing up at one of our other churches, where I'll be leading a Taize service. Only found out at 2pm that we'll have no accompaniment EEK! And one of the Taize chants is quite complicated, although beautiful, its sung in a round, so I'll have to lead the singing of it somehow.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 06/04/2012 15:50

Oh, that's good news weegie - though you feel for the little girl and a tough road ahead of her with this treatment.

Many prayers from us all for Aillidh, expat, and all the family [busmile]

  • that everything will go as well as it possibly can x
JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 06/04/2012 15:56

You couldn't find a lap top and speakers and listen on YouTube could you Mary - or something similar ?

Or play a CD ? Anyhow hope it goes well Smile

  • I'm sure it will be lovely - perhaps the simplicity of un-accompanied will be good ! Tell everyone to sing out ! [busmile]

TheGreatestmadhairDayinHistory · 06/04/2012 16:21

So good about Ailidh, saw on FB earlier, praise God. Will keep praying for her.

Jan....praying for you, sorry to hear you are feeling like this. Praying you will know the comfort of Christ and that he is in it with you.

I've loved being able to get to some services this Good Friday :)

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 06/04/2012 16:30

Hi jan - I'm so sorry you're feeling so tired and low.

I sympathise a lot with your challenges with dh, mine is tricky too.
I also feel both tired and lacking in positive energy quite often ATM - mine is more job seeking related - at least mine sleep through now (aged 10 and 13 years !)

Reading in one of your posts upthread though that you feel having your baby is the best thing that's ever happened to you in life (so far). That's a good place to start and something to hold on to.

I remember you saying you recently had a lovely day with her at the beach.
Perhaps you can look forward to more days like that, perhaps with friends or family, as we head into spring and summer ?

With best wishes to you, and all here for a Happy and peaceful Easter weekend x
[busmile]

Is this the thread? MadHair, I was on the believers safe haven thread.

TheGreatestmadhairDayinHistory · 06/04/2012 16:45

Hi Sophie, this is the prayer thread, you're very welcome, just jump in. There is also the Chat thread (Halleluijah he is here - Chataway) :)

amberlight · 06/04/2012 16:46

Prayers continuing for all...

SophieNeveau · 06/04/2012 16:49

how do you each pray?

TheGreatestmadhairDayinHistory · 06/04/2012 16:52

We just tend to share prayer requests here, and pray for each other in whatever way feels right for us, there is no set formula at all. It's great when we share answers too, and it's good to share struggles and know others are thinking of you and praying for you - it has been a real haven for many of us.

goodfreyedaysusan · 06/04/2012 16:57

hi sophie!

well, my prayers consist of short sentences.... thrown out... between ...interruptions....which are frequent....as you can see.

SophieNeveau · 06/04/2012 16:57

thanks for explaining, there are a lot of back pages on this thread.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 06/04/2012 17:09

There's a very good summary by bes of where we were all at when this thread started in the OP. Thanks for that bes Thanks

Of course life is always moving on too, so as madhair says probably best to just jump in and not worry too much about reading all the back pages - though I'm sure it would be a worthwhile thing to do for anyone with the time and inclination.

jan2011 · 06/04/2012 17:21

welcome Sophie

thank you for prayer... juggling, im sorry you are having a tough time too at the minute.... i pray for God to annoint you afresh with His holy spirit and energy. it would be very draining trying to find a job that is suitable with the way the markets are... still He knows the future and what is round the corner and in an instant can change things. thank you for reminding me about the baby being the best thing that happened to me - you are right, and i needed that reminder. i just trust God i will have the strength and what it takes for her...still why would he give her to me if he wasn't going to help me with her.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 06/04/2012 17:28

I think we all feel like that jan - that we hope we will have the resources, including the personal resources, that our children will need - especially when they are babies and so new to us.

We are all praying for you and your (new) baby, and remember how much work it is especially in that first year.

Thanks for your thoughts too - very encouraging

jan2011 · 06/04/2012 17:43

i heard a quote once it says 'i am just going backwards so that i can get a head start' i hope this is true for me and anyone else who feels they aren't getting anywhere. thanks so much for prayers :)

creatovator · 06/04/2012 19:31

Simply posting to send prayers for everyone over the Easter weekend and best wishes of course Smile.

SophieNeveau · 06/04/2012 21:01

I feel uncomfortable asking this, Can you please add me and my dc to the list.

I have a disability and have had nearly a week of flare up. I am in a great deal of pain, which gets worse in the evening.

My dc just have me.

I am not sure what exactly I would like, just anything to improve life quality would be good.

Thanks

DutchOma · 06/04/2012 21:32

Sophie, we so gladly would like to pray for you and your children. How very difficult life must be for you. I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. do you manage to get out at all? Do you have help? How old are your children. Feel free to answer as much or as little as you like.

SophieNeveau · 06/04/2012 21:39

I pace myself. I was out earlier, nothing exciting, just supermarket shop and lunch there. We went for baking ingredients. I will help tomorrow, the dc made biscuits earlier for us to decorate tomorrow.

No help, I have found the "cost" of help not worth the bother on the whole, I have found I am happier biding my time and catching up and doing what I can when I can when bad, works better for me.
