DutchOma · 14/12/2011 16:07

I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

Fink, heck and double heck. Much prayer.

Lostinafrica, go easy with that walking! (Not that I'm a fine one to talk, given the antics I get up to).

Much prayer for each of you

And thank you for prayers for us, and also for the funeral yesterday. Sad, but healing at the same time.

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 29/12/2011 08:47

Hi Fink, I remember you! I went through something similar, with my first marriage, and felt just as you did, re: being alone etc for the rest of my life. I would encourage you to talk about it to someone in the church. There is an association for separated and divorced Catholics. There may well be other groups in your diocese. I think if I had been given the support and encouragement I needed, I wouldn't have left the RCC (am now happy in the Anglican church), although a few years ago, a lady from the local Catholic church offered me all the support I could have wished for (albeit 10 years too late). It may even be possible for you to have an annulment? PM me if I can help more...

madangelhairday · 29/12/2011 09:53

Morning all.

Fink, I'm so sorry for your situation, so sad for you, praying for strength for you. What Cerys and Mary say is very wise I think. Stuff happens, and God is nice, and brings good out of bad so often. Please be easy on yourself and try to take a day at a time - not easy I know.

Lost - sit down woman and stop doing too much Hope the appts come through soon though so you can be back on your feet.

Amber - so glad the funeral went ok.

I'm almost definitely out tomorrow night - so pleased, as I can then celebrate my birthday at home with my family which seems right for a th birthday Gin

blackeyedsanta · 29/12/2011 10:06

Fink - prayers for you and your DD. I think you are being amazingly strong.

MHD - prayers that you'll get out in time for your birthday.

I'm feeling a bit fed up. I've got a cold and because I'm pregnant there isn't very much I can take for it. Also, I'm not far off the point where I developed pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy and I keep getting paranoid about things. I have a headache but I know in the sensible part of my brain that it is not pe related and it is to do with the cold but the irrational part of my brain thinks "what if ..."

gingerbreadhousecurl · 29/12/2011 18:05

Hello all!
MHD - so pleased that you will be home in time for your birthday.
Lost - don't overdo it!
Fink - Sorry to hear about your situation. Prayers for you and your DD.

Prayers for everyone on here. DSis and her family left this afternoon after a nine day visit. I hadn't seen them for a year and time seemed to go so quickly while they were here. I very rarely cry but tears were burning in my eyes as the taxi left to take them to the airport. She very quickly sussed out that things aren't brilliant and that I'm feeling quite wobbly in myself at the moment. Now it's just DH, DS and me again. Feel a bit lost.

Teaandcakeplease · 29/12/2011 20:35

Saw this on fb, you may have seen it before:

Mathematical lesson for the day:
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given

Smile Love it.

I'm lurking but not posting much as usual these days Blush

Teaandcakeplease · 29/12/2011 20:39

Fink much love and prayers to you. My now ExH had an affair and I've been a lone parent now for 2 years. Holy Trinity Brompton do a wonderful biblical course to support people going through divorce and separation. Perhaps when you're feeling stronger you could see if there is one close to you? I found it very helpful. Right now take each days as it comes lovely. It is so hard, especially with little ones. Mine were only 11 months and 2 and a quarter when the bombshell hit so I feel for you so much x

madangelhairday · 29/12/2011 21:42

ginger - just to say you're very much in my prayers tonight.

Hold on to God's promises and to his love. Sometimes it seems it's all we can tangibly find. May God keep you in perfect peace tonight.

madangelhairday · 29/12/2011 21:44

Hello! Hope things are OK with you?

Fink · 29/12/2011 22:53

Thanks everyone for your prayers and advice. I'll have a look at some of the opportunities people suggested.

fwiw, My spiritual director thinks I have a good case for annulment so I will look into it, but that's obviously several years down the line.

Please keep up the prayers and I'll pray for all of you.

amberlight · 30/12/2011 09:38

Reading each thing and praying...

madhairday · 31/12/2011 18:20

Quiet here...

It's my birthday and I'm home - so want to thank God today.

Praying for you all, for a good new year, full of God's peace and blessings. xxx

PositiveAttitude · 31/12/2011 18:32

MHD Lovely to "see" you home for your birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Prayers for everyone for 2012 to be filled with God's peace and blessings in whatever situations you are in. Thank you all you lovely ladies for being my prayer support throughout 2011. I really thank God for you all.

DoodleAlley · 31/12/2011 18:38

Can I please add a prayer request though I'm not a regular on this thread?

Attended breast clinic last thursday and they found a 'suspicious lump' on ultrasound. Had two biopsies taken hopefully get results at appt next Thursday or if not worked then further biopsies.

Been a rough few days and petrified of when DH returns to work Tuesday and it's just DS and me during the daytime.

Petrified of the results too.

Sorry to be a downer on NYE

madhairday · 31/12/2011 18:40

Praying now Doodle - may you know God's peace at this time.

DoodleAlley · 31/12/2011 18:43

MHD - welcome home & Happy Birthday Grin

Home alone with the DC in bed. Had in laws here today so half pleased to b on my own, half vv lonely Sad days like this only serve to remind me how wrong this all is. DP should be here with me, celebrating our first NYE as Mr & Mrs... Still, it's just another day...

Thank you, wonderful ladies for being there, holding my hand & praying for us this year. You are all fabulous & I could not have done this without your support. Onwards, to 2012 xx

PositiveAttitude · 31/12/2011 20:03

((hugs)) and prayers for you, too, Jently. You have done amazingly well. Here's to 2012 being a better year for you and all your family.

DutchOma · 31/12/2011 21:09

Prayers for all in need. However far away God seems, He does not move, He is in control and He will be with us always. I am talking to myself as much as to anybody.
