I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

springydaffs · 23/01/2012 12:15

ps plugged a mouse into my laptop - it was using the touchpad that caused the RS injury.

blackeyedsusan · 24/01/2012 07:14

how is bob do?

DutchOma · 24/01/2012 07:32

We had quite a good day yesterday, he had all his meals downstairs, dinner was a bit fraught since a friend had called in and had stayed for over two hours, so he was quite worn out. I didn't realise, I'd gone out and when I came back I thought he'd been there for about ten minutes, but it was more like three quarters of an hour and then he stayed for more than an hour after that. It was wonderful of him to call especially since only one other person did since Christmas, but this was just a bit too long.

MOrning, all you lovely prayerful people.

DO, being sociable can be really tiring! I made myself tell people when I had had enough and would ask them to leave. Bob needs time and peace to rest and get better and visitors, however welcome, will understand that.

Mousie, hope you continue to find strength and support.

Amber, praying that hospital visits go well.

blackeyedsusan · 24/01/2012 14:43

ds got a sticker at nursery! at last we have counted the stickers on the door and had enough for a trip to the cafe. makes a change from friday hen he was taken out for bad behaviour and then sunk his teeth into me when the teacher came and told me about his behaviour. Blush today we have had coathanger waving, screaming, refusing to move/put coat on. lying on the floor and a bit of dangling off his straps, but no biting and he got a sticker. not too bad a day really!

gingercurl · 24/01/2012 15:10

Yay, BES!

DutchOma · 24/01/2012 15:36

Prayers all round as I'm reading.

Herceptin thingy at hospital good today. And consultant v pleased with dh's eyes this afternoon too...so I'm tired but alright. And back at work, working Hmm Oh the joys of having your own business...

Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 11:18

hi all, I've been praying while reading through the thread!

DD1 has returned back to playgroup and child minder yesterday after being home for a week with chicken pox! My cough is finally disappearing! :)
Which is good as I am singing in church on Sunday... still need to practice the creed. We'll be singing the Taizé creed, which I love :)

I finally got hold of my Vocations Adviser and will meet up with her on Tuesday, so please some prayers for that :)

madhairday · 25/01/2012 12:33

Oh Blue that is great, I will indeed be praying!

What is the Taize creed? Sounds lovely.

I am thankful for my dd's new dermatologist - we went to see her yesterday and she has prescribed some different creams and also some UV treatment - dd will need to go in a sun bed type thing twice a week for 12 weeks - apparently it can be very successful. I hope it is. The doctor took one look at dd and said 'you poor thing. You have been so brave. But now we're going to help you get much better.' DD was beaming.

Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 12:38

My DH has UV treatment for his psoriasis back in Belgium years ago and his psoriasis cleared up completely! :) it is back now so it only stays away for a while but it is very succesful!

JugglingWithSnowballs · 25/01/2012 13:19

Thanks for the link, have enjoyed listening to some of the beautiful Taize songs on YouTube.

Am thinking of including them if I were to volunteer to lead one of the monthly prayer groups for parents at my daughter's school. Am still thinking about whether to volunteer, but I've definitely been having a few thoughts !

madhairday · 25/01/2012 13:22

Wow Juggling - tell me more about your prayer group for school parents - how was that set up? How did you ask people to join in etc? Sounds amazing :)

madhairday · 25/01/2012 13:22

And yes you shoud def volunteer - go for it - if you've been having thoughts this way that's bound to be God Grin

blackeyedsusan · 25/01/2012 20:06

oh dear. it is one of those days. I have one set of bedding to wash and one set of school clothes and bag to sort out as there has been an accident. the overdoor hanger fell off the door and some stuff landed in the potty and got ... erm soggy. we have had toast for tea as we are rather late.

will read through later when things are less manic.

DutchOma · 25/01/2012 20:44

Prayers for all, including baby Bea... and praise for mhd's dd's dermatologist, sounds very hopeful!

I'm not writing here as much as I was - although I'm still reading and praying - as life's getting back to normal and it's too busy for me! Four dcs and one oft-absent h (even when he's at home)... Things are not great at the moment in some ways and I need yet more patience, strength and wisdom (like when to keep quiet!). Prayers, please!

TotallyUnheardOf · 25/01/2012 22:55

Reading, praying and very happy to hear about your dd, MHD.

Oma - how's Bob?

Had a manically busy day and still have 66 unread emails... Aaargh! (I am on here, because every time I look at my inbox I see '66' in bold next to 'unread messages' and I freak out and run away!)

JugglingWithSnowballs · 25/01/2012 23:18

Thanks for your encouragement regarding the prayer group mhd

It is lovely to go into my DDs school on the first Monday of the month to meet with other parents for a prayer group at lunch time.

It's been running for a couple of years now, started on the initiative of a group of parents. But supported by the school chaplain and headteacher who both normally attend too. The parent who organises it compiles a list of prayer requests in advance and we pray through them during the meeting - also time for a few songs and a coffee and chat.
School is probably more open to the idea of it because it's a Cathedral (or faith) school.

I have been thinking of offering to lead a session (volunteers asked for !) and thinking it would be lovely to have some Taize songs, and some ideas on a theme developing in my mind. Then I come on here and someone's posted a Taize link. Someone trying to tell me something ? Perhaps !

Thanks for the link to Bea's thread. What an awesome mother cupoftea is !

Prayers for them today, and for you all x

blackeyedsusan · 26/01/2012 07:41

prayers.

DutchOma · 26/01/2012 07:43

Bob is getting better but on another week of abs after he finishes this lot. Then we have another week's worth, just in case he again starts to be ill in the weekend The GP admitted (albeit reluctantly) that it was his fault that Bob had been put back on an immune suppressing drug after the Brompton took him off and that this may have been the reason for the recurrent chest infections. Should be better now he is finally off it.

juggling yeah that was me trying to tell you that Taizé is fab Wink

ChairOfTheBored · 26/01/2012 10:03

Hello all

First time posted in this neck of the MN woods, so hope it's OK.

Apologies, I've only skim read the thread - it's pretty long - but was great to find some shared prayer support on MN; will be making additions to my prayer list.

Would be great if folk could pray for me and DH. DH was diagnosed with MS this time last year, and after a year of being trouble free, announced he was worried that the symptoms from last year are coming back. We'd just started to TTC number 1, so it's all a bit much at the mo...(and hard to feel amourous with all the worry, but that's probably a subject for a different board!)

JugglingWithSnowballs · 26/01/2012 10:13

Oh, welcome COTB, prayers for you and your family from us all. Good luck with ttc, in spite of everything (and sorry to hear about your DH) I hope you can hold on to some of the excitement of starting a family together x
