I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

Sweetest, hurrah!!!!

TotallyUnheardOf · 20/01/2012 17:22

Wow! Power of prayer...

Sweetest... that's fantastic news. I am so pleased for you. Smile

AND I've just had an email inviting me for an interview for the job I applied for. So now I need more prayers for the getting-over of nerves and the making of decisions (if it comes to that...). But for now I'm happy to be over the first hurdle.

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 20/01/2012 20:39

Fantastic news sweetest :) ... now just need a job for TUO :)

JugglingWithSnowballs · 20/01/2012 20:45

Really lovely to hear everyone's good news today. Hope you are OK today too Mousie ?
Not a bad day here, have a couple of ideas/plans for the weekend and for next week lined up - a friend emailed and asked me over for lunch on Tuesday, so that was good timing !

SweetestThing · 20/01/2012 21:18

TUO, praying that the interview turns out the way you want it to - and what God wills too!

Have blogged about today. I find it so cathartic, setting it all out on the screen. It's a bit like my rambling praying - I meander all over the place, remembering things I want to say to God, requests, thanks, questions....luckily God is wise and patient!

FriendofDorothy · 21/01/2012 00:08

I blog a lot too Sweetestthing - I have found it very helpful over the years.

I have received a letter today offering me an initial appointment with the fertility specialist. Of course it is on a day that I have training which is inconvenient but no matter.

I am not sure what to hope for, that they find something wrong that they can fix or find nothing. My biggest nightmare is they find something major.

blackeyedsusan · 21/01/2012 09:20

yay, sweetest! Smile

blackeyedsusan · 21/01/2012 09:28

ooo tuo, goodluck!

fod hope it goes well for you.

you might need that later. Grin hope the dcs behave.

good news here. tmi warning.

ds has done a proper poo! (only his5th or so in 3 years of being weaned!)

PositiveAttitude · 21/01/2012 09:52

Brilliant news Sweetest. What an answer to pray. Smile

TUO Prayers for a good interview and for you to know if this is God's plan for you.

FOD How long do you have to wait for the appointment? I remember feeling the same many years ago ..... for me they found a small issue and it was sorted immediately and I had a DD within a year. Prayers for you and your DH.

WoooHooo for the poo, BES. Grin

A better nights sleep here - don't think I mentioned that DH and I are in bunkbeds in the youth hostel. Hmm I certainly feel nothing like youthful right now!! I just want to snuggle up to him in a double bed! Blush At least it is only us in the room now, the first night we had someone sharing with us, too! Hmm Hmm
We have an afternoon off today, not sure yet whether we will go and sleep or go for a wander and do a bit of sightsee-ing. Raining at the moment, so not looking too good.
Its really exciting to be here and to be alongside so many people of so vastly different cultures, all with the same focus. We are so excited about heading off to Cambodia now.

How are things with you and DH, DO? I hope you are having a brilliant time MHD. We I want to be nosy know all the details!! Grin

Will pop back as and when i can. Prayers for Springy, Mousie everyone I have not mentioned personally.

FriendofDorothy · 21/01/2012 10:02

We have had to wait 5 months.

DutchOma · 21/01/2012 10:31

holding the phone with one hand and typing with the other: "all doctors and nurses are busy at the moment, please continue to hold and your call will be answered shortly." that's every 30 seconds, then after 15 mins it rings 6 times, then gets back to the above message. after three times of that you just get the muzak. i hung up and re-dialled after 3/4 of an hour. been at it for over an hour now. fortunately bob is asleep after a horrendous bout of bringing up bloody phlegm and barely being able to talk or walk. and this is only the initial call, i just don't know what to do.

OP posts:
TotallyUnheardOf · 21/01/2012 11:13

Oma... that sounds terrible. Sending prayers for someone to answer and for Bob to be OK in your direction. Practically... is there an 'emergency number' you can try (don't tell me this is it?). Or can you go to A&E? Really sorry that you're not getting a response. Thinking of you.

Also thinking of you, Dorothy, and hoping that they find something easily treatable. My friends had about a year of treatment, but at the end of it they got their beautiful baby boy. Praying it all works out for you soon too.

Woohoo for BES and the poo! I know how awful it has been for your ds with his diarrhoea, so definitely don't underestimate how significant this is for you, or the need to share. Grin

I am still in two minds about the job and I have nearly a month till the interview so lots of time to get really stressed thinking about all the permutations. It would mean moving to Scotland, which is quite far from where I am now (North of England) and very far from my parents (South West). PA has it exactly right... I need to try to understand if this is God's plan for me.

DutchOma · 21/01/2012 11:52

They did answer over an hour later and said a doctor would call me back within the hour..which he did. He had all Bob's file to hand, so knows what a difficult situation it is. Someone will come out to see him, just hope they don't want him in hospital. And yes, that was the out of hours emergency number, i didn't want to call 999, because all they can do is take him to hospital and at one point there were six ambulances waiting outside A&E to hand over their patients. I don't want that for Bob.

Keeping it in prayers, DO - the health service where you are seems to be worse than the third world Sad

SweetestThing · 21/01/2012 15:18

Praying for you, DO. It does sound as if you are being treated very badly, bordering on neglect.

madhairday · 21/01/2012 17:37

Hello!

Will be reading back through, and praying for you all.

Wow - what an amazing, awesome few days!! It's just so encouraging to be worshipping and learning with a load of other women in church leadership. The sense of God's presence was just amazing. Love it love it love it. Didn't want to stop!! (although lovely to be home, had 2 very late nights and know I will pay for it)

We had some wonderful prayer times, lots of fun and the worship was just out of this world - I needed that, to encounter God again like that - ingnite the passion again and all that for what is ahead. Feel refreshed and absolutely blessed. Yay!

-and if anyone wants a taste of all that come with me to the New wine women's day on March 10th - must revive the thread Grin

My seminar/workshop went so well - was so nervous but God gave me a peace and in the end I really enjoyed it.

Wow - I'm just knocked off my socks :)

TotallyUnheardOf · 21/01/2012 22:48

Brilliant to hear you on such a high, MHD. I'm glad it went so well and that you are feeling so well too.

DO - How is Bob now? I hope he got the medical attention he needed. Realise you may be too busy looking after him to come back here tonight, but please know that you're both in my prayers.

notevenamousie · 22/01/2012 06:52

DO how are things? Am guessing from no update that Bob may have had to go to hospital?? I hope he and you are getting the help and support that you need.
Prayers for everyone else.

DutchOma · 22/01/2012 10:23

Thank you all for your prayers and consideration. No, Bob stayed out of hospital, but we were left with the strict instruction that we should ring for an ambulance if he got any worse and also to ask for another home visit after a few days in any event. He is so terrified of going into hospital and with very good reason.
Ds and ddil came with Rose last night, he had a little bit to eat, but couldn't come down for it, but at least he had some. He didn't really know how well he had slept, but again had something to eat and a shower. He still looks poorly though.

praying do.

madhairday · 22/01/2012 13:51

Praying today, DO. What abs have they given him?

Thanks TUO. Still on a high, but tinged with sadness. Found out this morning at church that a wonderful lady who had terminal cancer died last week. I had this amazing conversation with her when I preached back in october about what God would say to the sick. I will never forget her. She left two teenage daughters :(

DutchOma · 22/01/2012 14:08

MHD so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Praying for the girls and her husband.

It's Augmentin they've given Bob for a week, he seems a bit better today and came downstairs to eat his lunch. We have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow with his epilepsy specialist which I have to cancel and probably the appointment for the blood test on Wednesday as well. I just wonder where all these infections come from, he has barely been in contact with people.

OP posts:
TotallyUnheardOf · 22/01/2012 14:19

Continuing to pray for Bob, Oma. Glad he's a little bit better, but praying for a huge improvement very soon.

Sorry to hear about your friend, MHD. I hope that your words back in October may have helped her somewhat. Praying for her daughters and for all who loved her.

Praise God... DD1 came to church again today and said she had enjoyed it. DD2 continues to say she wants to be baptised, though I wasn't able to find anyone to talk to about it today, so have sent an email instead.

DutchOma · 23/01/2012 11:03

Things are a little bit better still than they were yesterday. We have cancelled all appointments he had this week and asked for our own GP to visit on Wednesday. I need to ring on the day, but that should not be a problem. I was a bit afraid they would be difficult about it, but everyone I phoned was very accommodating.
