DutchOma · 14/12/2011 16:07

I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

FoD, heck, and prayers...
MHD psoriasis can be counted as a disability if it is long term and has more than a slight impact on daily life, so they do need to provide for this. As it is, this is bullying behaviour by the others. Added to the hearing loss situation, this is absolutely not right for her. Well worth a talk with the school about this (SENCO or Head) and ask to see their bullying policy.
Weegie, keeping prayers going for you - let us know what's what?
Prayers for everyone else too.

blackeyedsusan · 16/01/2012 19:57

mhd Sad

oh heck. ds did not go to school today. the car battery was flat. I think we will need to get a new one soon. (again) a lovely, lovely neighbour took dd to school.

PositiveAttitude · 16/01/2012 20:38

I have prayed for you all as I have read through.

Special ((hugs)) to FoD Weegie, MHD and your DD.

We are flying off to Germany tomorrow for our preparation conference for Cambodia. I am feeling very nervous and more than slightly stressed.

lostmywellies · 16/01/2012 22:04

Good luck, PA - hope it's all ok once you're there.

Praying as I read through...

Second amber's suggestion of speaking to someone at school, mhd. Hopefully a little verbal nudge will remind your dd's teacher to be a little more patient when dealing with her (not to mention professional Angry ). And the soap issue should be easily sorted. What a shame that she has to suffer till it is, though.

TotallyUnheardOf · 16/01/2012 22:11

So sorry that your dd is suffering again MHD. Definitely talk to someone about it. Poor thing.

Prayers for you, for weegie, for Dorothy and for PA - challenging times for all in different ways.

notevenamousie · 17/01/2012 08:08

Dorothy, MHD, weegie, bes :( "In this world you will have trouble. But, take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16v33. This would be my prayer for us today.

Have difficult family stuff going on, not good at setting boundaries (yet! - I am learning!) and protecting myself whilst I am doing this vulnerable stuff.

madhairday · 17/01/2012 11:24

Thank you mousie - I needed that.

FoD you are on my heart, praying for you.

BES, we're having car trouble too - aaagh!!

PA - praying for a great conference for you!

DH has emailed DDs teacher and arranged to see her, she couldn't see us til friday, I will be away at my women and leadership conference but dh will explain it all. Last night when I did her creams her back was in an awful state - cracked and bleeding and sore. She is in a lot of pain. She has a lot of the psoriasis in her ears too which exacerbate the hearing loss there already. Poor thing. You feel so helpless when your child is in pain and then being teased for it too. It's shit it really is. :( Just cried for ages last night after doing her cream. Seeing her dermatologist next week and just hope there is a better solutioin because the meds right now are doing nothing. I just hate it. And I'm feeling pretty angry with her teacher right now - but we'll see how the meeting goes.

madhairday · 17/01/2012 11:28

Was listening to this song earlier and felt God nudging me to copy the lyrics on to here for you this morning.

For all of the lovely prayer thread ladies.

Life could take, take every dream away
You?d still be my Risen One, the place where my hope comes from
Life could break, You?d still be my saving grace
My promise of all to come, the place where my hope comes from

I?ve been chosen by Your hand
Through forgiveness called Your friend
Now You?re here with me
Loosed my chains and took my shame,
on the Cross You bore my pain - Jesus died for me

It?s a gift we don?t deserve
And a treasure we cannot earn
You paid the price
Now a life that offers more
And a Cross that said it all - A perfect sacrifice

All my hope is in You
My treasure and my truth
My hope is in You

gingercurl · 17/01/2012 11:41

Praying as I read through.

Need superhuman powers of concentration for the days and weeks ahead. So much work to do, definitely not enough time to do it and my mind just wanders! What's wrong with me?

FriendofDorothy · 17/01/2012 12:07

Thankyou Madhairday - that is beautiful.

Who is that song by?

madhairday · 17/01/2012 12:43

It's by Trent music band, from Trent Vineyard church.

It is one of my favourite songs.

Bluetinkerbell · 17/01/2012 13:14

I could do with some prayers shaking of this horrible virus that has been bugging me for the last week. Doctor doesn't want to do anything, just advised me to keep taking paracetamol... He said it would clear up in 2 to 4 weeks, nice...not :(

FriendofDorothy I feel your pain... we are ttc#3 after losing DD2 at 20 weeks pregnancy last year. I have pretty long cycles... average 42 days. I was hoping it would be my month, and could give DH a BFP for his birthday last weekend, but my AF struck almost 10 days early the weekend before. Disappointment doesn't even cover what I felt... So know you are not alone in this ttc journey!

mhd so glad you feel better! :) so sorry for your DD and the troubles she has at school. The weather isn't helping either with the psoriasis is it?

Still haven't heard back from my Vocations Advisor...

praying for everyone

amberlight · 17/01/2012 15:10

Keeping prayers going for everyone.
Weegie, how are you doing??

springydaffs · 17/01/2012 17:02

helo all, been snowed under with the family mess and haven't been on. I went to GP today who has referred me to a specialist unit that supports parents who are being abused by their children. I didn't know such a place existed and I am feeling hopeful. heartbroken but hopeful.

I have to say though that these hideous days have been incredibly rich with God. It's as though the/my world is dripping with encouragement. Not too much from people though tbh (not many people can keep up with the concept that kids abuse their parents..) but God. I've certainly been on my knees pretty much constantly. He is faithful. Thank you for your prayers, I feel sure that your prayers have been instrumental in these very rich times with God.

Positive, are you going out as missionaries? I'd love to do something like it and have wanted to for years. The window seems to have opened here (timewise) and I'd like to get the process started - I know it can take up to a year to come to fruition. Can you give me any tips? Praying for your family on this (exciting?) journey.

Been praying for you all, generally and specifically; though a bit like Julie Andrews when she says 'and God bless whatisname'. He knows who I mean.

whatisname · 17/01/2012 21:37

da da!

[shameless emotion]

blackeyedsusan · 17/01/2012 22:23

fod, hope you have better luck next month.

blue, hope you are feeling better soon.

blackeyedsusan · 18/01/2012 07:17

off to see another mum from school. I am hoping she can become a good friend. rather lacking in friends. Sad

JugglingWithSnowballs · 18/01/2012 07:34

Oh, I hope you have a nice time with her blackeyedsusan, that you get on great, and can build some friendship with her that we all need in life. Good luck !

PositiveAttitude · 18/01/2012 08:50

Whatisname Confused .....errrr.........hello!! Confused

BES praying that you will get some good friends around you.

Springy - Prayers for your family situation. There is a real stigma about having children that are not "perfect" in societies eyes, isnt there?? especially if you are a Christian. I really struggled with this when DD1 was rebelling and felt like others thought I was such a failure. I really pray that things turn around for you. I know you have probably said before, but how old is DS?

Yes, we are going off to be missionaries. When I return I will be more able to PM you if you have any questions.

We arrived here in freezing Germany. A rather stressful day yesterday followed by a very UN-restful night! Not time you explain now, but I am sure we will laugh about it at some point.
Must go to meeting. Will pop back as I can.

Prayers for everyone.

DutchOma · 18/01/2012 10:15

Prayers for you PA.

And for Springydaffs. I didn't know either that such an organisation existed, but feel very glad that you are getting some help.

We are a bit more ok than we were a few weeks ago, but Bob is still very breathless and not able to go out except when he has to go for an appointment. And we are having struggles with the surgery who have messed some of his tablets up. He had some tablet which he should not have taken and not another one, which he should have had. The pharmacy say that the surgery are forever late sending the prescription through for the last one and because we have a medibox with all the tablets pushed out we didn't realise he was taking a tablet the Brompton told him to discontinue in April. He didn't have it for a few months, then the surgery put it back on repeat and we never knew anything about it. Don't even know precisely how I realised, it was mentioned when I went to complain about the missing calcium tablets I think.

springydaffs · 18/01/2012 10:48

Grin - just got that whatsisname (took me a while - duh)

doe a deer.

specifically prayed for meds Dutch, that they're in the right order and that you trust God to keep his eye on it all.

madhairday · 18/01/2012 12:16

DO - praying for Bob right now - specifically that meds will be sorted.

Springy. so glad you have found an organisation that is more geared up to your needs. Praying things will shift to a more positive way for you. I can't even imagine how it must feel for you. Am I allowed to send some >?

BES - praying you will have a good time with your new friend and that it will be a good relationship.

I am off to my New wine conference tomorrw. I am very scared as I am leading a workshop. Please could you pray it goes well and God gives me courage!! I'm very excited too about the conference and seeing some much loved friends again.

Thanks for prayers re. dd. Her teacher moved her to the front yesterday so she could hear better. Small steps. And we have the dermatologist next week.

amberlight · 18/01/2012 17:47

Prayers all round.
Been at hospital with dh most of day getting eye emergency sorted out. Exhausted. But seems to be okish....

SweetestThing · 18/01/2012 18:38

Hello from me. Weegiemum, praying for better health for you. Praying for others as I read back.

Hospital check-up last Friday and consultant found a dodgy lump, so had to wait for a couple of hours to be fitted in for an ultrasound. Ultrasound doctor couldn't detect any mass so didn't take a tissue sample. Results being reviewed today at MDT and I get the results on Friday - praying that the ultrasound doctor's conclusion that all is well will be confirmed.

Blogged about it all so won't go on about it any more here.

TotallyUnheardOf · 18/01/2012 21:41

Praying for health for MHD's DD, for Bob, for amber's DH and for you, SweetestThing. Also for long-term wellness for MHD and amber themselves, and for mousie.

Praying for your difficult family situation, springydaffs; and also for Blue and BES and Dorothy in their own difficult situations.

PA - prayers for a restful night tonight and for a really inspiring time as you prepare for your big adventure.
