Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to come across and let you all know that we are expecting a boy! We found out yesterday, a really very happy day and the first this pregnancy when I was able to let my fear go for a while and enjoy the moment. So lots of prayers of thanks for God for our little boy and continued prayers to keep him safe and bring him home to us. Pics on my blog We are 18 weeks today. The end still seems such a long way off.

Prayers for bes and your ds and the nightmares.

Jaffa how is the hayfever? It is miserable isn't it. I've only had it occasionally in my life, but its horrible when it takes hold. Prayers for you to feel better soon.

Mrscad that is great news about your brother and SIL. Praying they'll soon have a little one in their home.

Swan prayers for your feelings of PND and that your little one starts sleeping a bit more to help you recover.

amberlight · 07/06/2011 10:40

Caz, wheeeee!!!! 18 weeks...you're getting there!!!

JentlyDoesIt · 07/06/2011 11:26

Morning all,

Thank you so much for your prayers, they have really helped. I feel much stronger again today and have resolved to stop looking at the rest of the site and just visit this thread. I am also considering starting a blog about my "journey" through this time -what do you think? Just something anonymous to get my thoughts "out there".

Prayers for my friend Bluecrane and her DH today. They have another scan booked as the miscarriage itself has not yet happened so she might need to be taken into hosp for the horrid D&C. I love them very much and my thoughts and prayers are with them.

I have just had the loveliest email from one of DP's friends. He lives in Korea with his wife and emailed to see how we all were so I kind of let off a bit of steam about things and how I was feeling. I just got a reply "You are certainly not a failure! Not in any way. I said that you were my hero and I meant it." Awww, it gave me happy tears :)

caz what lovely news - congratulations :o you must be thrilled and rightly so.

DO one of my favourite hymns, shall be humming it all day now.

Amber - how are you doing? Much love

TACP have a lovely time :) we 3 are going to spain for a week in October and I can't wait. We are staying in FIL's villa and he has paid for our flights, we are very blessed.

Hellllllloooooooo to everyone else - today is going to be a :) day, I will brook no argument...

xx

Hello all. It's been a long time since I've posted but I do read and pray for you all most days. A few times I asked you to pray for my brother and God has done amazing things and we pray that he will continue to do so. Also my dd2 has been ill with CFS/ ME for 2 years since she was 7 ( that's how I met Positiveattitude!), and yesterday she attended her first full day of schooling in 25 months Grin. It has been hard in so many ways, but I just wanted to testify on this thread that God is faithful and he never changes. He's just the same in the good bits and the bad bits. So many of you are facing such challenges and I just wanted to let you know I'm standing with you, even though I'm a bit shy about posting anything!

PositiveAttitude · 08/06/2011 06:18

Katsh - how lovely to "hear" from you. Fantastic news about DD!! You have made me smile first thing in the morning - not easy!! Wink Grin
DD3 is 17 today! It is 3 years today she was first ill - and 2 years ago tomorrow that we had a major answer to prayer when she stood up for the first time in many months. Recovery is still slow, good days and many bad days, but generally heading in the right direction. God is good!

Caz prayers for DS, for peace and reassurance for you and DH. Smile

Sweetest - praying for full healing for you. Hope you are feeling a bit better today and the ABs have kicked in.

Have a good day everyone! Smile

blackeyedsusan · 08/06/2011 07:40

happy birthday dd3!

MaryBS · 08/06/2011 08:20

wb katsh :). And happy birthday to PA's DD :)

amberlight · 08/06/2011 13:10

Hi all. Prayers continuing for each of you.
I'm alright thanks - this is the 'best week' of the three weekly cycle so I feel fine (apart from watery eyes grr).

SweetestThing · 08/06/2011 13:35

Hello, all.

Caz, so pleased about your little boy, growing inside you. I looked at your blog and Annabelle is so beautiful - thank you for sharing her with us.

Amber, glad you are feeling okay at the moment. Are the watery eyes a side-effect of the chemo?

PA, thank you for your pm. I will reply! Happy birthday to DD.

Physio and speech therapy today, so tired now. Wound is infected but am on strong anti-biotics which hopefully will do the trick - back to the doctor tomorrow to have it checked out. Speech therapist said my eye closure is good and I now have a little machine to send electrical pulses through the nerves in my forehead to try and stimulate some recovery. Between that, and the tape we are trying to support my cheek, I look even weirder than usual!! I have set up a blog to record what's going on and I'm finding that really useful to help me work through things. Technology can be so helpful as well as harmful!

I hope everyone is having some sunshine in their lives today x

madhairday · 08/06/2011 14:04

Continued prayers - hi katsh! Wonderful re dd!

Quick prayers wanted if you could spare one - still waiting on completion of house and apparently someone in the upper chain is slowing it all down and we don't know why - starting to worry - also no word yet re school places....aaaagh! I know I should cast my burdens and all that but finding it hard not to un-cast them Grin

blackeyedsusan · 08/06/2011 14:16

madhair, you have extra sticky super glue covered burdens... like mine... Grin

off to see the head now re help with dd's reading. hope I am not fobbed off.

M44 · 08/06/2011 14:53

Still here and praying for you all.
Not having a great time........prayers for patience, wisdom and tolerance would be good.
Thank you.

amberlight · 08/06/2011 15:09

Seems the watery eyes are indeed chemo-related. Drat.
SweetestThing do we have a link to your blog, perchance?
Prayers all round
M44, dare we ask?

M44 · 08/06/2011 15:33

please don't say it like that!!
no-just pray.

amberlight · 08/06/2011 15:43

no problem - praying

madhairday · 08/06/2011 15:48

M44 - praying.

Amber - awww, sounds horrible. Praying.

Quick answer to prayer for me, I decided to ring the admissions to see if they'd got the forms, not only had they recieved them but they also confirmed the places we want have been offered to us for both dc, yay!! Now just for the house to be completed would be fabulous.

BES - arf at super glue covered burdens, I tend to do that with most of mine!! Grin

SweetestThing · 08/06/2011 15:58
