Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

BES, prayers aplenty for today...

Prayers also for everyone else.

Was awake a good bit of the night with bad side effects from this chemo, but don't feel too bad right now. Think I need to go see the GP and talk it through. Prayers that they have a sensible plan would be appreciated Smile

PositiveAttitude · 01/06/2011 08:04

Prayers for a positive day for you amber.

And prayers for a good day for you, too BES.

CaptainDippy · 01/06/2011 08:32

DutchOma · 01/06/2011 08:53

Slight off tangent but my DD loves watching Disney movies but are there some good movies with Christian concepts in them that I can start buying swaying her to watch. As I think her mind is started to get too full of the wrong ideals iyswim? I want to correct it. She doesn't seem into vegi tales though as I've tried a couple. She's almost 4.

blackeyedsusan · 01/06/2011 23:20

well, I survived... all very pleasant on the surface... could have been a lot worse, so thank you for any prayers...

however, I am really annoyed with myself for forgetting to bring the socket protectors up the stairs from the car... it will have to wait until tomorrow now, which means I can't use the computer with the children in the room until tomorrow. ds managed to blow the fuse in the extension lead by getting under the clothes airer and switching it on and off at the wall. fortunately the computer is ok. I was distracted by a pooy bottom and ds saying "oo, ow, poo bum" and walking like a cowboy fresh off a horse.

(he also managed to wee on the curtains and flash his bare bottom out of the window yesterday whilst I was putting dd to bed, and still put pepper on his dinner after I said no, then ate it! he spat it out, said "ow mouth hurt" and tried to wipe his tongue on my t shirt! )

DutchOma · 02/06/2011 08:54

Well done BES, on all scores. It's easy to be annoyed with oneself for doing one small thing wrong, forgetting all the good things you have done.
Makes me laugh, the picture of your ds walking like a cowboy.

And the church is all booked for the 13th, so roll up everyone. I would like to know who's coming for catering purposes, but don't worry too much about it, last time we did it we had loads and there are shops nearby.

CaptainDippy · 02/06/2011 10:41

Hopefully The Dippies should be there. Will have to have a think about a few things 1st (boring practicalities like not having a car or any money), but I hope we can come! Smile

BES, you rock!! WinkSmile xx

I am feeling bit wobbly and hurt at the moment due to various things, prayers and hugs are appreciated Smile xx

Teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2011 12:32

I know this is really minor compared to some of the struggles on here but I'm feeling so tired and grouchy today. My poor DD and a lesser extent DS are feeling the brunt of it despite counting to ten and praying a lot. I'm going away next Tues for a week after a kind gift from a friend but I'm anxious about money, the long car journey, packing everything and remembering etc. As well as just being tired. Just need prayers, I don't want the kids to suffer because of my inner turmoil Sad But they are...

DutchOma · 02/06/2011 13:12

Where are you going TACP? Just you and the children? It's hard when you have to do it all on your own. Prayers for you and also for Dippy

blackeyedsusan · 02/06/2011 15:01

tacp... going away is HARD WORK.. especilly all that packing and the responsibility of remembering everything, working my way through 5 columns of stuff...

amberlight · 02/06/2011 15:52

Much prayer for all who are alarmed, wobbly, ill, tired, stressed, panicked, unsure, bewildered, naffed off or otherwise.

blackeyedsusan · 02/06/2011 16:38

naffed off about covers it..Grin that made me smile.. hope you are not feeling too bad today.

amberlight · 02/06/2011 17:10

Feeling pretty good today thanks Smile

blackeyedsusan · 03/06/2011 21:01

where is everyone?.

how is everyone?

DutchOma · 03/06/2011 21:17

I'm here. I'm alright. Just off to watch Outnumbered. And then I'll be in bed, 'cause tomorrow dd and dgs are coming (no dgd) and we are going to buy shoes for ME. Dh discovered that they were actually grinning at me, there was such a big hole in them.

Hello everyone, thanks for all your prayers, haven't been well enough to post on the site, but have been adding my prayers to your concerns and in touch off-forum and am very grateful for support. Just a quick hello as on Saturday I am going to be facing up to some things (work things which I've let slip horribly this year) and going through lots of unread emails. I will probably find out, somewhere in the mails, whether I have a job from July. Prayers that I can cope with all this and that it's not as bad as it could be. I feel very ashamed. I am having issues with insomnia and rapid heart rate so will have to get checked out this week as well. Much love to you all xx

amberlight · 04/06/2011 08:11

BoxofDelights, take it as easy as you can...much prayer for you, and for everyone else...

blackeyedsusan · 04/06/2011 11:00

just a little request... please caan you pray that I find the remote for the tv. it has been missing since e started using this tv. ds managed to turn the brightness down so the tv is almost black. the up button disappeared into the tv several months ago and neither volume nor brightness can be turned up woithout the remote. I did search several months ago but didn't find it... need to look again... perhaps it ill be a good excuse to continue the tidying campaign. (and looking for that pesky paperwork that never got found...)

Box of delights, those emails sound like my paperwork hunt. hiope that you have more sucess than i do.

mary, if you are back today, ho did your holiday go? maybe you are getting another week...

tacp, how is that packing going?

thejaffacakesareonme · 04/06/2011 11:22

I've been lurking but not posting much recently. Prayers for all. It sounds minor but I'd appreciate some prayers too -hayfever is starting to get the better of me and all I want to do is sleep all the time.

blackeyedsusan · 04/06/2011 15:49

how are you doing bod? praying for more energy and another burst of entusiasm.

prayed jaffa. hope you get some energy back.

caz, how is it going? any sign of the sickness ending yet?

I am emptying the kitchen cupboard today as I have just discovered that the shelf is about to collapse. need some inspiration as to the best way to fix it. got a couple of ideas. really could do with some oomf to get the right tools out of the tool box tower. the hand drill belongs to h and is in the bottom box. I am seriously lacking in energy (disturbed nights/stress/heat/cold) and it is all such an effort...

thank God I found it before it collapsed though. at least i have time to sort it today.

madhairday · 04/06/2011 16:33

Hello!

Back from a lovely week at our friends cottage - really was a fantastic answer to prayer. Just catching up now.

Just seen you have arranged a meet up for 13th - would so love to come but will be moving house that week so it's unlikely I'd be able to make it - gutted. Still hopefully we'll do another one sometime?

Hope everyone is good? Have been thinking and praying for you while on holibobs.

MrsCadwallader · 04/06/2011 17:38

Massive prayer of thanks, please Grin just heard from my brother that he and his wife have passed their adoption medicals. This was a huge hurdle for them because of his wife's medical history. I am SO happy for them, I can't stop grinning Grin

And prayers please for the next step, and that they will soon be able to offer a loving home to a child who needs it.

I feel quite teary. Grin

BoxofDelights · 04/06/2011 17:47

hello everyone, am right in the middle of sorting out the mess my life is in: not easy and there's been some unexpected bad news. still ploughing on ... Prayers for all being sent up now.
