the first one is nearly full.

Anyone welcome, it's basically a "what happened in church/spiritual life/anything else you want to chat about that's vaguely related (or not) to churchy stuff.

Unfortunately can't buy a specific bus route bus pass round here. And to be frank I've fed up of "enabling" him. He's an adult - he needs to decide how important his DS's are to him. DS1 is starting to see through it all, and it would be unfair of me to constantly "force" unwanted (from exH) contact just to keep them happy iykwim

Last year when I moved out I offered to send them with a packed lunch, and something to shove in the oven for dinner (after all if he hadn't had them at all I'd still have had to feed them). He never once took me up on the offer. Told him to just feed them value bread and jam sandwiches and value biscuits (they get plenty of nutritious food here at home with me - a weekend every so often of shite isn't going to hurt them). But no when he had them he spent stupid amount of money on crap - buy expensive crap.

If I'm going to feed the DS's crap/junk/shite personally I can't see what the benefit of buying expensive branded crap over value crap - it's still all crap iykwim?

:(

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 24/02/2011 12:37

It was actually nearly 4 months from me moving out to him first having them too last year!

ahh well. Just about to have a (real life) cup of coffee, and then take the to the park. Hoping to last an hour.......but I do find it quite dull as they don't want my interaction so I sit there like a numpty twiddling me thumbs Hmm.

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 24/02/2011 12:46

take a book with you!
or..... sit there with your head phones in singing really loudly and out of tune. that'll force some interaction! Grin

thanksamillion · 24/02/2011 12:50

Baroque I really feel for you with the lacking in adult interaction. My DH is around but very busy and not so much of a chatter(!). I do have local friends but the conversation is a bit limited and I get frustrated when I can't really express myself so I loonnggg for some good English speaking friends here. I'm meant to go and visit the one that I do have on Saturday but it's snowed heavily and I don't know whether to brave the 3 hour drive. Sad

nickelbabe · 24/02/2011 13:10

should we do a conference call?

nickelbabe · 24/02/2011 13:19

obviously no one wants to talk to me Wink

well, it was an idea. sometimes, talking on the web is nice, so you can talk without pressure, but I know how you feel about needing to talk to adults.
shame you're all so far away, i'd have you round for Brew

nickelbabe · 24/02/2011 13:21

Something I have been after for a while, which nowhere seems to publish, is a book that explains where all the different things we sing come from.
it's linked in with the Voice for Life, as yo uhave to a module called "choir in context" where you explain how the music we sing relates to the Word.

I thought i might make one myself.
But I need a Title.
something like "i will sing with the spirit" , but i know there's a compilation of anthems called that.
ideas machine?

lyra41 · 24/02/2011 13:23

hi nickel

just heading off to tesco now, but I thought I'd say hello. Hi Baroque!

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 24/02/2011 13:43

am back from the park - managed about 45 minutes - they're all happy though that we went at all. DS2 got to ride his new bike he got for his birthday for the first time, DS1 attempted to get his Air Hog airplane off the ground, and DS3 pottered around on the play equipment.
