the first one is nearly full.

Anyone welcome, it's basically a "what happened in church/spiritual life/anything else you want to chat about that's vaguely related (or not) to churchy stuff.

Brilliant Baroque, that's so funny Grin

newlark · 25/02/2011 20:37

Grin love the cat Baroque!

On doubt: I have a few favourite verses that I go back to depending on the circumstances e.g. 2 Peter 1:16 if I'm doubting the historical accuracy of the gospels, Romans 8:28 if I can't see how a situation could have good come out of it etc.

Hello again! Wonderfully fast moving thread Grin

Mary - you're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things settle down for you soon

thanksamillion - wow! missionaries in Moldova!!! If you do get around to PMing more info, I'd be interested to know more too if that's ok!

Baroque - I just watched that clip of your cat Grin Made me LOL so DH asked to see it too!

Could I ask you for prayers for my MIL. In the last 2 months her 28yo nephew was killed in a car crash along with his best friend, her BIL died and now it looks likely that her best friend only has days left. It's really tough for her :(

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 21:03

Grin - I'm glad that others found the cat amusing and it wasn't just my childish

Love the cat Baroque.

If any of you are interested in free accommodation in our home between 26th July and 4th August (Isle of Wight) please PM me and I can answer any questions. Not advertising it or anything, just asking a few people if they are interested at this point.

DillyDaydreaming · 25/02/2011 21:13

Quik hello - stressful day. My auntie is very ill with cancer - my other auntie died from cancer at the end of December and this auntie looks very ill (has a brain tumour). My poor Mum is devastated as she will be the only sibling left. Spent time at the hospice today and just wondered if you could keep my aunt in your prayers. Many thanks.

PositiveAttitude · 25/02/2011 21:16

Certainly will Dilly. Must be hard on your mum. Sad

nickelbabe · 26/02/2011 09:18

essence sorry to hear about that. :( it must be really tough for your MIL at the moment.

nickelbabe · 26/02/2011 09:19

I showed DH the cat as well B - he thought it was hilarious! Cats are funny.

this morning, Johann was licking DH's hair while he dozed. [bleurgh]

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 26/02/2011 09:22

Sorry for all of those having a difficult time at the moment Sad

I'm still giggling at my cat video Blush

AND - I'm in creative mode - I'm doing a video to the kids song "Boing!" Have spent about 2 hours just getting the 14 second introduction so I'm happy with it Blush. Unfortunately it includes some of my own (very bad) drawing done in paint - but it's a kids song so I'm hoping I get away with it Grin. I know what I'm doing now customising the PiP's etc how I want them so hopefully the rest of it won't take as long...........though I'm thinking I may have to find picture of a bowl of cereal rather than draw my own hehe

anyway!
Choir practice went okay last night - DH and I aren't there on Sunday, so he had to make sure the choir could do the anthem without us....
they're alright, they have confidence issues, but they'll be okay on the day.
it was actually quite nice just listening, because I could hear 2 of the singers who we worry struggle. One, a bass, we can sometimes hear him "droning" (he's a bass one octave below!), but listening last night, he definitely drones to the bass line!
the other, a tenor, who is no longer new, but has no prior knowledge of reading music etc, (and is backed up by a quite frankly appalling tenor line), was making a really good attempt at singing the tenor part, rather than just the melody.
I mean, he wasn't spot-on in most cases, but he was trying! Grin

Treble is worried about "being on his own" on Sunday - I've told him he can sit with the sops on the back row, so he doesn't have to sit on his own.
I'm sure he'll be fine.

But i bet i'll get back and find they've all given him 6 good marks! (he gets dots for being good- which makes it easier to earn money - 5 dots = 1 good mark, 5good marks = 25p rather than having to be excellent to earn a good mark, say if he sings his scales well, or picks up a line of music, he gets a dot. if he does something well after i've picked him up on it being bad, he gets a dot. that kind of thing.)

I got him to sing the Lord's Prayer from the BCP last night all on the note B, without prompting, for an entire good mark. It took him several attempts, but he did work hard! (wed do the "traditional" wording normally, so it was a bit of a shock to him to see the words were a bit different in the BCP!)

stop rambling, nickel!

nickelbabe · 26/02/2011 09:31

could you take a photo of a bowl of cereal?

I've got to work on getting photos of things for my videos.
I'm going to upload a video in a bit, which looks crap in comparison to yours and mhd 's.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 26/02/2011 09:37

no no - photos are just going to look odd with this one as the first bit in the introduction is something I "drew" in paint and have added a little animation to in PD. I want it to all tie in theme wise iykwim

know Grin

right, i'm back.

DH and I are going to nottm on a surprise visit this afternoon, so that we can visit big sis and new nephew tomorrow.
it was niece's birthday yesterday, and a couple of weeks ago i spoke to big sis and said that i would ring this sunday because they've got plans this weekend until then.
so we didn't send niece's birthday pressie up, cos we'll take it tomorrow.
anyway, i put on her facebook profile happy birthday to niece and hope you like your surprise.
she commented "surprise????????????? would that be sunday?????????"
i replied "what???????????? what are you on about woman?"

anyway, just spoken to my mum, and she said that sis has been going "is nickel coming up on sunday? is she coming to visit? tell me!"
mum doesn't know, either, of course, cos it's a surprise, so she said she didn't know.
so when mum rang, she said "sis says you're coming up tomorrow"
i said i wasn't, then realised that i probably sisn't sound too surprised by the notion, so added that i'd seen the comment on facebook.

Grin

(and if big sis has signed up to MN and has been following me for the last week, she'll know all about it anyway! Shock )

nickelbabe · 26/02/2011 10:44

the end of my video is mucked up - they're supposed to be smooth transitions.
i don't know what happened to it.... Confused
might save it again just to be sure....

I don't have the patience to spend that long on making a video.
i'm Envy

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 26/02/2011 10:53

I'm cheating with some of my "paint" pictures - getting DS1 to do them - I can get away with them looking "childish" if they're drawn by a child Grin

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 26/02/2011 11:01

well, exactly - get them in art mode today, and you'll have loads to use at the end of it! Grin
