Can all those who don't believe in homeopathy, ghosts, talking to the dead, reading minds etc, please check in here?

There must be a few of us.

I feel as though I've logged onto allthingswoo.com rather than Mumsnet.com at the moment, and I'm not referring to this particuarly forum, but chat and AIBU?.

And if anyone says anything about how we should be openminded,I'm afraid I'll have to beat you to death with a a stick, one cut from an ash tree by the light of the first Summer moon of course.

It goes in fashions, doesn;t it? People don;t seem to be being abducted by aliens any more,

Skimty · 04/02/2011 17:54

I'll join in.

My GP had additional qualifications in homeopathy which bothers me and means I can't trust him. I keep checking his prescriptions aren't just more of the same!

Also have a friend who believes that she has a crystal child. Has anyone else come across this amazingly wootastic belief?

Hullygully · 04/02/2011 17:56

Bet she wraps him up in cotton wool

MsInterpret · 04/02/2011 17:56

Down with woo.

LetThereBeRock · 04/02/2011 17:57

That homeopathic A&E sketch is priceless.Grin

I've added your suggestions to the Bingo sheet too Seeker. They're genius.

Any more anyone?

If I'm bored later I think I'll amuse myself by going through one of the many ongoing woo related threads in chat or AIBU,with my Bingo sheet.

'It goes in fashions, doesn;t it? People don;t seem to be being abducted by aliens any more,'

That's true, though ghosts have always been 'in',haven't they?

"Of course scientists scoff at homeopathy, they are judging it using allopathic methods that simply won't work"

PeddlerOfWoo · 04/02/2011 18:06

I WILL NOT BE SUPRESSED.

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 04/02/2011 18:08

If there is one woo peddler on this thread are they going to be more effective than a whole thread full of them because they are diluted?

BoffinMum · 04/02/2011 18:09

Beta, my FIL is a hydrogeologist so a hard core sciencey person, and he can also divine water. He tried to teach me but I had no gift whatsoever.

Lulie110 · 04/02/2011 18:10

I'd never heard of Crystal Children. I wondered if it was like Indigo Children, so I goooogled. After reading THIS I am now clear. And quite convinced.

PeddlerOfWoo · 04/02/2011 18:11

Don't forget, I have also been banged on a leather saddle many times. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 04/02/2011 18:12

You mean you were a pair of jodphurs in a previous life?

PeddlerOfWoo · 04/02/2011 18:13

Yes indeed. Joan of Arc's, no less.

Skimty · 04/02/2011 18:15

It's funny, I don't know anyone who says, 'Yes, I believe in crystal children but my own two are completely normal.'

Looking them up on YouTube can definitely while away a lot of time. This must be lovely to know

PlentyOfParsnips · 04/02/2011 18:15

'you just don't have an open mind'

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 04/02/2011 18:16

Um. Just read that link on crystal children and am wondering how I can convince DS to become one.

bigbadbarry · 04/02/2011 18:17

I'm signing in, a bit late. No woo allowed here.

BoffinMum · 04/02/2011 18:17

Reiki?
Dim lighting, nice rest on a couch category.

Normantebbit · 04/02/2011 18:18

I am not woo and neither is DP. It is very satisfying. Am reading Bad Science at the moment and keep chuckling happily to myself.

Lulie110 · 04/02/2011 18:19

HerMajesties, I can help you here. Having looked hard at the evidence, am pretty sure that you just need a brown haired child dressed in bright pink. I gleaned that from the 2x pics on the post.

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 04/02/2011 18:22

Shit! DS and DD are both blond! Hair dye? But it's full of TOXINS!

Lulie110 · 04/02/2011 18:23

Just use mud. That'll draw out the toxins, 2 birds/one stone.

BoffinMum · 04/02/2011 18:24

Take homeopathic silicea regularly for mouth ulcers and found it worked, other sugar pills don't, flummoxed as this Does Not Conform To My Beliefs.

When I saw the quasi-ghost, it warned me about something unexpected in the future that came true. That Does Not Conform either.

I reckon we can put Physiotherapy in the category of placebo treatments as well, tbh.

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 04/02/2011 18:26

Now I have to disagree about physiotherapists. They are fantastic.
